Chapter 51
There exists a sound called “Seumbi-sori.”
It is said to be the sound that the haenyeo of Jeju Island make when they resurface after diving into the sea, a sound akin to whistling.
In other words, Seumbi-sori is a signal that the haenyeo, who hold their breath while diving underwater, make to indicate they are alive, and simultaneously, it serves as a notification to the sea that they are human and not water ghosts.
However, what echoed within the room was something entirely different.
Beep—ick.
Beep—ick.
It resembled a whistle, yet it lacked liveliness.
True, it was a sound reminiscent of someone resurfacing from underwater, but rather than signaling survival, it chased after death.
A sound not made by a human, but by a water ghost.
The sound made when a water ghost comes to the land to choose who will be caught.
Beep—ick.
Accompanying the sound that announced it was a water ghost and not a human, the water ghost prowled around the room.
The sound of dripping and the heavy, lingering smell of fish filled the space.
It was a nightmare landscape that past sailors would dread to see, filled with the grotesque grudges and obsessions of the water ghosts that shamans find difficult to handle.
Beep—ick!
The water ghost lingered.
It swept across the floor in a form of white smoke, leaving traces behind, as its decayed body swayed, leaving footprints. However, the thick white smoke that filled the room enveloped the bodies of those who had fallen into a deep slumber, serving as armor that shielded them from the water ghosts.
Beep———-!
The white smoke had the power to lull people to sleep upon inhalation.
It was likely more lethal than any poison while the water ghost prowled, yet the same white smoke possessed the power to repel ghosts, meaning as long as it enveloped their bodies, the water ghost could not touch them.
Beep—ick!
The water ghost, seemingly annoyed by this fact, reached out to claw at the smoke, but the smoke merely bounced its hand back. The decayed, gelatinous flesh sprang back with a squelching sound, scattering droplets exuding a foul odor everywhere, causing pain to the water ghost.
However, if they gave up just like that, they wouldn’t have earned the fearsome reputation of Su-sal-gwi (Water Ghost).
The water ghosts did not relent.
They lost their reason and stretched their hands and feet to push the smoke away, opened their mouths wide to bite, and let their hair hang down to strangle the slumbering victims.
They desired to drag the sleeping individuals into the water, pushing their faces down to drown them, wanting to throw themselves into the bathtub alongside them, wishing to share the same fate.
But it was all in vain.
The white smoke armor was too solid, protecting them like a fortress.
Suddenly, the water ghosts spotted something peculiar.
They discovered that the smoke wasn’t protecting a specific area of the people.
It was the central area, rather than the face, neck, or legs that water ghosts usually targeted.
It was around the genital area that people would refer to as ‘vital points.’
The area surrounding the genitals seemed to be untouched by the smoke.
The water ghosts, ecstatic, decided to rush toward the genitals of the individuals they were sticking to, intending to grasp them and drag them underwater.
Slurp.
However, sadly, their wish was unmet.
They could hold onto it, but as soon as they tried to move it, it slipped away as if oiled. Furthermore, the slipperiness was so severe that it could not budge the individuals even a smidgen.
Beep—ick!
The water ghosts realized it was futile to try and submerge a person.
Yet, with such delectable prey before them, they could not simply turn back.
Especially since there was someone who appeared to have successfully possessed a person in the bathroom; they couldn’t just abandon that.
If they had all failed, maybe it would have been different, but since one had succeeded, they absolutely could not give up.
Hope inherently intensifies when there is even a single example.
Even with countless failures, if there’s one success, humans, like moths to a flame, will rush in.
What more with water ghosts, who are even more malicious and obsessive than humans?
The water ghosts looked at the individuals whose genital areas were empty and decided to utilize ‘another method.’
That method was to siphon life force.
Since they could not move the humans, they planned to attach themselves like color demons to drain their vitality.
The water ghosts each latched onto their assigned victims and began Ghost Contact, causing those subjected to it to arch like bows, their bodies bouncing, and their eyes rolling back.
“Ugh!”
“Uhh-huh!”
Even amidst their sleep, people experienced unbearable pleasure, drooling as they were subjected to Ghost Contact, and in proportion to the pleasure felt, a tremendous amount of life force flowed into the ghosts.
This was not a mutual beneficial practice as seen in the Kama Sutra or Yin Yang arts, but rather a method that solely harmed the humans.
Especially the powerful Yin energy and grudges that the water ghosts possessed were dangerous forces that even skilled necromancers would find hard to control.
But what did that matter?
The people currently in this swingers club had all chosen to sell their futures for pleasures.
Otherwise, they wouldn’t have called Jinseong to seek his “blessing,” would they?
What they were experiencing, this Ghost Contact with water ghosts, was something they themselves would have longed for.
To them, engaging in such acts, even with potions and blessings, would not be a matter of eating away at their lifespans but, rather, a source of unparalleled pleasure.
As Jinseong walked through the area, he heard the moans of exquisite pleasure echoing from every corner.
He arrived at a room where the elder was located.
The door was slightly ajar, perhaps thanks to Jinseong’s flirty approach, and inside, he could hear moans intertwined with pleasure echoing.
However, what stood out was that the sounds coming through the door were solely those of women’s moans, while the men sounded like they were gritting their teeth in resistance.
Clunk.
As Jinseong opened the door, the scene inside came into view.
The women who had clung to the elder earlier were now writhing, seemingly entranced by pleasure, their eyes rolled back, while the elder lay collapsed on the bed, draped in only a gown, resisting the ghost’s advances.
“You! You bastards!”
The elder had blood flowing from his lips in his effort to resist the potion.
He shouted so loud that blood splattered everywhere and glared at Jinseong, who merely looked back at him apathetically.
“Why do you refuse?”
It was a tone entirely different from the flattery he had shown earlier.
The elder shivered at the change in tone.
“What was your intention?! You’re engaging in such grotesque acts!”
Grotesque acts.
Jinseong chuckled at the elder’s words.
“Everything changes according to one’s heart. Water, once entered into a viper’s mouth, becomes poison; in a human’s mouth, it becomes sweet nectar; and in fruit, it becomes flesh. Everything depends on your heart, so why label it a grotesque act?”
“Shut your nonsense!”
“Change your heart. This is not a harm inflicted upon you; you’re not suffering any harm. You simply need to enjoy pleasures that you can never obtain by hugging an ordinary woman. The life force the water ghost absorbs will hardly harm a warrior like you, and with the blessing I’ve given you, any lost life force will quickly replenish. What could be better than losing yourself and diving into pleasure?”
The elder was enraged by Jinseong’s words.
“Bastard! How can there be anyone in this world who shares a bed with a ghost?! You repugnant, lecherous bastard!”
“Hahaha. I see there are many doujinshi where people share their bodies with ghosts; I suppose you’re unaware. You underrate the human libido, and even more so the libido of your own people. You, yourself, can! I can guarantee it.”
The elder seemed to struggle to rise, as if to strangle Jinseong. However, due to the powerful effects of the potion, he kept collapsing after attempting to stand up, and the constant interference from the water ghost trying to initiate Ghost Contact made it impossible for him to exert any strength.
“Why do you reject such a gift? It’s more intense than any potion and amplified by the power of the blessing, allowing you to experience pleasures beyond this mortal realm. Wasn’t pleasure what you desired all along? Ah, perhaps it’s due to the appearance?”
Swoosh!
Jinseong splattered blood onto the water ghost.
As if it had received life, the ghastly visage of the water ghost changed.
Aside from its corpse-like skin, it took on a fairly decent female appearance.
Seeing that form seemed to stir the elder’s body.
However, the elder bit his lip and continued to resist the Ghost Contact, observing him silently, Jinseong clicked his tongue and recited an invocation.
“Non declinetis ad pythones nec ab hariolis aliquid sciscitemini, ut polluamini per eos.”
He pointed to himself with one finger and then pointed at the collapsed elder on the floor.
“Vir, de quo egreditur semen, lavabit aqua omne corpus suum et immundus erit usque ad vesperum.”
The moment the invocation tumbled from Jinseong’s lips, the elder bit his lip hard. It was as if sleep were suddenly washing over him, causing panic, making him bite so hard that he looked like his lips might tear.
“If cum muliere coierit vir, lavabunt se aqua et immundi erunt usque ad vesperum.”
Yet, that resistance lasted only a moment.
With the continuation of the invocations, the elder could no longer fight the weight of his eyelids, yielding to sleep, collapsing to the floor.
Jinseong repositioned the fallen man into a favorable position for Ghost Contact.
Then he picked up a luxurious-looking wine from the room, checked that it was indeed made from grapes, and gently pricked his fingertip with something sharp to drop a bead of blood into the wine bottle. He shook it well to mix it and then held it in his mouth, spitting it out.
Puh-woop—!
The spilled grape wine splattered like blood before Jinseong, not merely resembling blood, but reeking of the smell of it.
After finishing the incantation and completing the ritual, Jinseong quietly took a seat in a clean-looking chair, passively observing them.
This wouldn’t be a quick affair but would last until the elder was thoroughly soaked in pleasure and became his loyal pawn.
It wouldn’t take long.
For someone capable of resisting pleasures like that, they wouldn’t have found themselves in such a place in the first place.
It was merely a matter of time.
“That child! Hand that child over to me!”
Indeed.
It didn’t take long.
