chapter 28
28 – The Difference Between a Freak and an Uninvited Guest
When we passed the vast sky over the border, it was an enemy camp.
“Her.”
The first thing that greeted him was the decorations between the rich and the traditional. The airport looked vulgar at first glance, but it was full of splendor unique to Japan. And between them, as if saying that this is the beauty of Japan, I saw a mural painted in the style of ukiyo-e, a traditional Japanese painting.
‘They played tricks on the picture.’
A strange energy emanated from the painting. It was a form of power that was a little foreign to magic, different from witchcraft.
‘Yin Yang art?’
Yin Yang is the power that Japan created by arranging magic developed in China and Korea in its own way. Since it originated from Northeast Asian sorcery, it adopted a method of strengthening the effect in the form of using power based on an amulet and adding a spell to it.
Those who use this yin-yang technique are called masters of yin and yang, and they have held important positions in the country for a long time.
In other words, it could be said to be a unique form of magic that Japan has.
‘You’ve tricked me into using yin-yang techniques.’
And the ‘way to identify a shaman’ that Jin-seong guessed early on was Yin-Yang technique.
In a way, it may be a natural story.
The existence of a shaman itself is elusive, so how can you find a shaman in a normal way?
Body energy detectors are more effective for wizards or warriors than shamans, and alien scar detectors are effective for summoners.
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or terahertz radiation body scanners that use terahertz radiation, would be effective in detecting the physical cost of a shaman’s use of magic… The cost is meaningless because there is no difference between the general patient and the shaman and the patient cannot be distinguished.
Therefore, it seems that Japan tried to detect the sorcerer by inscribing the yin-yang technique.
The method is a collision between witchcraft.
As much as the tribe of sorcerers can use all kinds of magic, they also defend against other magic. Usually, ‘Amulet doll’ made in the form of a doll is used, and this doll serves to bear the damage inflicted on the shaman.
In this process, the incantation marks of the curse spell were dispersed, and the yin and yang spell engraved on the airport seemed to catch this dispersion and send a signal.
‘If you stab it lightly and get a reaction, it’s detection. It’s quite sophisticated.’
Of course, even ordinary people sometimes carry dolls to ward off evil. Isn’t ups and downs and disaster prevention something everyone wants?
‘It probably had something to do with the body scanner.’
So Jinseong guessed that it was not just this yin and yang technique, but also related to science. Being caught as a patient in a body scanner is quite possible, and carrying a doll to ward off evil is quite possible.
But it won’t be all that often that it takes both.
‘If you get caught on two, there will probably be a follow-up. Climbing on the ship of the dragon, the contractor or other shaman comes to check… Such measures.’
Jinseong thought it was a spider web.
A sticky web to prevent shaman from entering Japan.
Is it because of that?
Rather, he felt his expectations grow.
‘What are you hiding?Do you reject the shaman because you’re here?’
He looked around the airport, acting naturally as if he hadn’t noticed the yin-yang technique.
In the airport foot bath, which Kagoshima Airport boasts, you can see that Yin-Yang sake is skillfully hidden in the pattern on the floor, and the shuttle bus to the tourist destination is also full of Yin-Yang sake. No, there was a barrier outside the airport.
‘That’s amazing.’
He was full of determination to prevent the shaman from leaving the airport.
He was to the point of being stubborn.
‘Let’s see that barrier. Fetish… No. It’s a barrier to detect amulets.’
He clicked his tongue and got on the bus, and he painted dragons on the floor and ceiling, which was also a yin-yang drink.
‘This leads to a collision with the casting. It’s a form of trick that’s hard to notice, leaving only traces, though no significant effect can be seen.’
Is that all?
There were things presumed to be heat sensors all over the bus. The explanation said it was for the prevention of disease, but how could you believe that? It’s just a waste of money to post something like that now, when there is no global epidemic.
Of course, it is right to assume that there are other purposes.
‘See. As expected, it’s not just a sensor, it’s an energy sensor in the body.’
Unlike normal sensors, I could feel the parts that contained very small amounts of various types of energy inside.
It was evident from the body energy sensor he had seen countless times during his mercenary life.
‘I will narrow down and confirm the suspect by all means?’
Body energy detection is not effective for shamans. This is because witchcraft itself does not use a specific type of energy, and even if it is assumed that a specific type of energy is used, it is difficult to stably accumulate energy because the body changes due to the cost.
In other words, it was clear that the internal body energy detection sensor was used to identify non-shamans, not shamans.
‘Her. Really tenacious What the hell kind of honey jar is he hiding?’
Jinseong sat in an empty seat with an expression of anticipation and stared out the window.
No one thought it was strange because he had the appearance of a tourist without fail.
“Oh!”
No one found it strange that the shuttle bus reached its destination and exclaimed as soon as it got off. However, it was only pleasing to think that a person who looked like a foreigner admired the scenery of Japan as soon as he saw it.
In fact, the scenery you see when you get off the shuttle bus is really great.
Jinseong’s eyes saw something else.
‘I can’t believe there’s a barrier here! No. There must be barriers to important tourist destinations that can be accessed directly from the airport.’
He made up his mind to catch a regular city bus instead of a shuttle bus. He moved to a bus stop by using roads in succession to a deserted place, got on an old bus that did not seem to be a tourist destination, and moved anywhere.
There was no specific destination.
It was just to get away from important tourist spots that can be reached directly from the airport.
But did such an act actually help?
As soon as Jinseong got off at the right place, he burst out laughing.
‘That’s why I’m trying to weed out the shaman. hahahaha!’
The place he landed was a quiet rural village.
A rural village with nothing special.
At first glance, the place that resembles a rural village in Korea is called a tourist destination. There is no doubt that it is an infinitely insufficient place to do it.
However, in Jinseong’s eyes, it looked cooler and more beautiful than any other tourist destination.
A black haze appeared.
At first glance, the darkness of the night was diluted with light again and again, and the haze seemed to be lined up thinly shining like the last remaining fairy’s winged robe. It is too weak to have a substance, and infinitely positive to say that there is no substance. However, it was a weak black haze that seemed to take on the color of darkness if gathered again and again.
A white powder was also seen.
A very small, fine powder that appears when you open a bag of flour and scatter it into the air. If you change the nature of it so that it can penetrate light, and make a snowflake that does not land on the ground by infinitely lowering its presence, wouldn’t it be that kind of shape?
They tried to stick together, but they rejected each other like magnets of the same pole pushing each other, and the shape was like a white flower blooming on wriggling seaweed.
‘There are so many scattered souls and spirits!’
The identity of what he could see was the soul and the bag, the components of the soul!
And this soul and bag are materials that can be used for multiple purposes in magic.
In short, what he sees is a bonanza that surpasses gold or diamond mines.
As soon as he realized the secret Japan was trying to hide, he smiled brightly and went around using paper to check the soul and bag.
And, I realized that all of Japan was similar to that, except for the place where the barrier to find the shaman was set.
‘Yes. It doesn’t make sense to touch nature and the only side effect is rising temperatures. I understand now.’
It was an obvious side effect that the horn and bag, which should normally disappear naturally, remained like that.
‘As the soul and the bag remain there, the grudge is piled up without being resolved, and demons and evil spirits must have spread everywhere. Disasters must have happened there often. Everything fits right in!’
He also realized why Japan used its own form of sorcery called yin-yang.
‘I can see why Japan was so proud of its yin-yang technique, but only used it for domestic consumption.’
In Japan, it would have been powerful enough even if the Hon and Baek were roughly united and used witchcraft.
Even the so-called food gods would have been able to move on their own if the soul and bag had been well tamed and handed over to them.
However, it is impossible to use it like that when you go outside of Japan.
Where is the soul and the bag so common?
Hon and Baek disappear in an instant even if they are continuously exposed to the sun’s brightness. At least the bag can survive, but the soul disappears as if evaporating. In order to use the horn and bag like in Japan, a witchcraft ritual or good quality casting would be required.
‘With this amount of soul and bag, a skilled shaman could turn the country into a mess by himself!’
If you bring a high-level necromancer right away, it will be possible to turn a city into a mess. If you drag a spirit of resentment from an appropriate place, refine your soul, and insert it into it, you may be able to create a mighty evil spirit, or in some cases, a great evil spirit.
Is that all? It might be possible to bring a demon, refine a bag, and make a monster-level demon. And if all of Japan was like this, it would be enough to create dozens of such monsters, and in some cases, it would be possible to drive the country to the brink of collapse single-handedly.
If you’re a talisman, pull it out from the talisman factoryEven the amulet will be able to exert a mysterious power, and a pyrotechnic who can use Soul Burn will be able to turn any place into a sea of fire using the scattered souls and bags as medium.
Of course this is theoretically possible, but in practice it is unlikely to be possible.
The shaman’s entry is also blocked with such a paranoid attitude, but couldn’t you have assumed a situation where the shaman smuggled in and ran amok? There are probably several strategies to find and block shamans all over Japan.
“Excellent. Very good!”
But what does that mean?
Shouldn’t it stop if you don’t get caught?
Jinseong had a premonition that he would be able to gain huge profits from Japan.
No.
I was sure
