The Strongest Assassin Reincarnates in Another World

Chapter 380 - I'm Back Baby!

She didn't know the exact reason why he wanted to hide his identity, however, she knew that it was something that truly counted for him, more than anything in the world.

He thought about a good answer, something that would make her think twice before doing such a thing. However, Aiden knew she was right, he couldn't let his identity get revealed for everyone to see, and there was no way that something like this would happen.

"When is the meeting?" Aiden finally muttered.

"Glad you understand." She smiled.

She was really happy that it worked out, and it meant that she had something that she could hold over Aiden's head forever.

Unfortunately for her, Aiden hadn't agreed at all. He was currently thinking of multiple ways to get out of his situation, however, for the moment none of them sounded good.

'The problem is her knowing what I look like... She could tell the Nightshades and then I would be in a shit situation. They can't learn my identity no matter what...'

Aiden knew that if Sylas Nightshade knew that he was still alive, it would amount to a lot of different and it was something that Aiden was currently trying to avoid to the best of his abilities.

He had no choice but to dismiss those thoughts as he heard the voice of Melinda, who continued talking about all sorts of different things.

"The meeting will be in a week, and it will be here in the Emberbane Territory. So, be ready by then, and I'll make sure that someone keeps an eye on you."

It seemed that she still wasn't fully trusting Aiden. However, he couldn't care less about that, he had learned how much time he had and it would be more than enough to figure out something.

'A week, to figure out what I can do... should I meet them or not?' Aiden thought as he knew that both those things held a lot of risks.

Melinda noticed that he wasn't saying anything, and decided to start the conversation once again, and she knew the perfect subject for it.

"What about your rewards? Did you get something good, it better be considering the time that you spent in there?"

Aiden frowned when he heard that question as there was no way that he would be answering it. He knew that the rewards that he had gotten were rare, and he didn't think that sharing them with her was a good idea.

"Are you a mute? Did you lose the ability to speak?"

Melinda knew that Aiden was mad, but there was nothing that she could do about it. She had to prioritize the family over him, it was as simple as that.

She knew that having a war with the Nightshades wasn't a good thing and she was trying to avoid it to the best of her abilities.

"Fine, if you don't want to say anything you can leave. Send one of the maids in, please."

She realized that Aiden wouldn't say anything, and she got a little mad about it.

However, that wasn't Aiden's problem as he stood up and headed for the door, calling one of the maids in.

Melinda looked at the maid and said loud and clear, "You will look over Aiden and make sure that he doesn't do anything that he will regret in the future."

Aiden turned around and gritted his teeth, and approached Melinda.

He was so close to her that he was able to whisper something to her, "What about my identity, I don't want her knowing that I'm the Reaper."

Melinda nodded as he understood why he was scared, however, those worries were useless.

"Don't worry about it, she's loyal. She won't be saying anything to anyone, I can promise you that much."

Aiden looked at Melinda, doubting what she said. However, he didn't say anything turning around.

"Oh, actually one last question..."

He whispered once again, getting close to her, "Do you think I shouldn't put the mask on, that way no one knows who I am?"

Melinda looked at him, and couldn't believe that she was speaking to Aiden.

'Is he asking for my opinion? Am I dreaming or something?'

"I would stay like this, no one knows what you look like except maybe five people in the entire family. By staying like this without a mask, no one will pay attention to you."

Aiden nodded and left the room as he had a lot of decisions to make in the following days.

"So, I'm stuck with you from now on?" Aiden asked the maid who was currently sitting right in front of him.

The maid didn't say anything and just nodded.

They were now in Aiden's room and it seemed that Isolde had left while he was still in the training because there was nothing that belonged to her in this room anymore.

"Can I do whatever I want?" Your next journey awaits at empire

Aiden wanted to know if he was restricted to staying here for the whole week. If he was then it would make things a lot more complicated for him in general.

The maid, this time, decided to answer, "You can do whatever you want, however, I'll need to keep watch of you at all times."

"Even at night?"

"Yes, even at night."

Aiden stood up abruptly and guided her toward his room telling her that she could sleep in Isolde's bed since she was gone.

However, the maid didn't seem to agree.

"I won't sleep, I need to keep watch of you."

Aiden smiled and acted like it didn't matter as he started heading for the door. He wanted to go visit Emma since it had been a while since he had seen her.

The maid followed Aiden as he left his room, she needed to make sure that she wouldn't lose sight of him.

While she was following him, Aiden was currently thinking about a bunch of things. He had highlighted a few options about what he could do to get out of this situation.

The first one was that he would be going to the meeting with the mask of the Reaper.

The second one was that he would be going back into another trial, however, he didn't like that option all that much as he wanted to see how things had progressed in this world.

The third option was to go back into one of the worlds that he had visited in the past like Mia's. However, he didn't think that he would be going there yet.

The fourth option and final option was simple. Aiden would use one of the items that he had received at the end of his trial, the [Random Portal].

He remembered the system telling him that he wouldn't regret it. Aiden thought that it would be able to bring him away from this place since the description said that the teleportation would bring him to a random place in Nova.

He didn't know what it was, but for some reason, he had a vague idea that it wasn't a random portal at all. The system would probably be able to influence where he would be going.

The fourth option was probably the best one, however, there's a problem which is that Melinda would reveal my face to the world which would make things a lot more complicated.

'Shit, I don't know what to do…' Aiden thought, wondering about all those options.

The more he thought about it, the more he realized that maybe having his face revealed to the world wouldn't be that much of a big deal. The only problem was that the Nightshades would see it, he didn't mind the others, but the fact that the Nightshades would be able to see his face would be creating a lot of problems for him.

'If only I can find a way for them to know nothing about me…' Aiden thought.

He knew that the moment they saw his picture they would try their best to find him since he was originally part of the Nightshades.

Aiden was truly lost, however, he would be pushing those thoughts for another time as he still had a week. He would make sure to think about it a lot, he didn't want to make a mistake here, after all.

He was now right in front of Emma's room and he knocked.

*Knock*

*Knock*

*Knock*

He heard footsteps rapidly approaching the door.

'I should move away from it, right?'

He knew that Emma would probably have a big reaction, so he took a few steps back in case Emma was to jump in his arms or something like that.

Aiden knew that he held a lot of importance in her eyes, and she also held a lot of importance in his eyes.

*Swoosh*

The door opened and the person on the other side of it wasn't the one that Aiden expected. It was Olivia…

'Fuck, did she live in the same room as her?'

Aiden remembered how close she was acting to him, and he was seriously hoping that something like this wouldn't happen once again.

"Aiden!" She shouted as loudly as she could before running up into his arms.

Aiden, this time, wasn't in the mood to entertain her as he didn't care that much about her.

She had just been following Emma everywhere. However, Olivia didn't have much impact on Aiden's life.

"Where's Emma?"

Aiden didn't play around as he immediately asked where Emma was since that was the whole reason that he had come to her room.

Olivia was taken aback as she slowly got off him, looking at Aiden as if he had said something wrong.

"You don't want to see me? Aren't you happy to see me once again?"

Aiden sighed and just walked past her. He just didn't want to deal with her at the moment, he had other things to worry and she wasn't part of it.

"Hey, where are you going?" Olivia asked right away, shocked about Aiden's actions.

He turned around and looked at Olivia directly in her eyes, "Look. I didn't come here to see you, I came to see Emma, so either tell me where she is or fuck off."

Olivia had her mouth wide open when she heard as she couldn't help but wonder about what happened in the trial for him to come in such a foul mood. She had never seen him act this way toward her.

Most of the time, he acted indifferent. But, this time… it was different Aiden was showing a lot of emotions which wasn't something that she was used to.

"She isn't here," Olivia finally said as she followed him inside.

"Then, where is she?"

"The training grounds," Olivia said with a lot of enthusiasm. "You see, she was training trying to please you."
