Chapter 110 - Arrival (Part 1)
“Hmph, now you’re starting to panic. As soon as you heard…” Before Zou Yi could finish his sentence, his legs, which always seemed to be restless, suddenly lost their balance. The immense force knocked him down, and he fell flat on his back, completely unprepared.
“Hey, how dare you…” Zou Yi’s last impression of what had just happened was that Stark had kicked him to the ground. He never expected Stark would dare to do that in public, so he received that kick without any defense.
Stark didn’t even look at the person on the ground. Instead, he raised his left hand to dust off nonexistent dust from his sleeve and turned to walk out of the observation center, leaving without a second glance.
Zou Yi felt utterly humiliated and immediately stepped forward, wanting to grab Stark, but he was stopped by a senior instructor from the third year who had issued the command earlier.
“Don’t cause trouble at this time. Whatever issues you have, resolve them privately. It’s already chaotic enough,” Major Hank said, frowning at the hot-headed lieutenant.
He had witnessed the commotion earlier but didn’t have the time or desire to get involved. Moreover, he had interacted with Stark before; the latter was cold and straightforward, never one to engage in petty disputes. Stark was the least likely to initiate a quarrel, whereas this Zou family young master, though he wasn’t familiar with him, clearly exhibited a competitive nature from their brief encounter.
Hank wanted to quickly clarify the situation regarding the star beasts and ensure the safety of every new student, without letting these young adults stir up trouble beforehand.
Upon seeing who had stopped him, Zou Yi was rendered speechless.
No matter how privileged his family was or how much he relied on his own abilities and confidence, he didn’t really dare to challenge a true expert like Hank.
Major Hank was almost the most experienced among the class leaders at the school. He had earned numerous accolades on the battlefield in his early years and was highly regarded in his military unit, making him a standout among the younger generation.
He was also here as a temporary transition; after serving a few years at Beska Intermediate Academy, he would almost certainly be promoted to lieutenant colonel. Although Zou Yi was also a captain, his starting point was high, and his strength and experience were still far behind Hank’s. He was proud but not foolish; he understood that those who know how to adapt to circumstances are truly wise, so he could only suppress his dissatisfaction and place the blame on Stark.
However, he didn’t expect to immediately receive a disapproving look from the first-year instructor.
With that, any complaints he might have had had to be held back.
Instructor Tan shook his head at this. He had a bad feeling when the class leaders were assigned to the new classes… In fact, Stark was originally supposed to be the class leader for Class One. In terms of rank, qualifications, and personal ability, he was indeed the best choice for the class leader of this year’s Class One.
However, for some reason, after reviewing this year’s student files, he chose to lead Class Two. As a result, Class One could only move to the next candidate, Zou Yi, but Zou Yi, who was quite arrogant, felt very unfair about it. This caused their relationship to plummet to an all-time low, and Zou Yi often picked fights, which gave the instructor quite a headache.
—He wondered how these two could be such a headache; they were incredibly difficult to manage.
Well, let them be. A bit of fair competition among the young people isn’t necessarily a bad thing; after all, he was still able to keep these youngsters in check with his old bones.
He was just about to advise Zou Yi to watch his words, so as not to affect the situation at the endpoint, when new news came in—of the most recent kind.
Major Hank and several others present changed their expressions and immediately strode out of the observation center, leaving the observation room considerably empty.
Zou Yi was one of the few who remained at the observation center. He shifted his gaze away from the teams with students from his own class and looked toward the scene at the endpoint.
A rather unusual “team” had arrived, consisting of only three people. At that moment, they gathered the attention of nearly everyone in the venue. Zou Yi frowned as he looked at the person who seemed to be the most burdensome among them, lingering on their face for a moment, deep in thought.

“Jiang, can you do it? Do you need me to help…” Xierman said softly.
“No need, just take care of your own arm and stop fidgeting,” Jiang Hui replied, somewhat tired.
This kid… she didn’t want to say anything more; every time he meant well, things went wrong.
It was one thing to use that so-called transportation method to entice her into this adventure, after all, she was foolish enough to believe him, so they were both accomplices.
But the problem was, dude, how come you don’t even know how to use something you brought from home… how could she possibly know? If it weren’t for the fact that the severely injured instructor briefly woke up and hinted at how to operate this off-road vehicle, they might still be struggling to climb up and down the mech.
However, the instructor only regained consciousness for a moment before falling back into a deep coma, his breathing weak. They couldn’t afford to delay any longer and had no choice but to set off with determination.
Yes, this off-road vehicle was what Xierman referred to as the escape transportation; its cockpit was circular, and underneath it were two thick, wide, and retractable metal claws. Once inside, a person could drive it over rough mountainous terrain with ease.
It was indeed quite fast and very agile in the mountains, but the problem was that neither of them knew how to drive it. Yes, Xierman completely didn’t know how to use this gadget he brought from home. He looked like he had intended to smuggle it over for practice but hadn’t had the chance to put that plan into action…
But the instructor’s condition was becoming increasingly dire, his breath weak to the point of nearly disappearing. Jiang Hui worried every moment whether he would last until they reached the endpoint. If they tried to walk back, he probably wouldn’t make it… So now the question was simple: should they take the risk of using this vehicle to transport the instructor to the endpoint?
Xierman said that he had ridden in vehicles driven by others but had never operated one himself, so he could only try to switch to autopilot mode and drive back. Jiang Hui, on the other hand, had no experience at all, so she couldn’t worry too much about it. She immediately urged him to start the machine and try to get them to the endpoint area. How would they know if they didn’t give it a try?
So, under these chaotic circumstances, they set off in the off-road vehicle.
At first, it was manageable. In autopilot mode, Xierman only needed to make slight adjustments to the direction to avoid various obstacles. To their surprise, he performed quite well in actual operation. Although his initial movements were a bit stiff, it felt like he had a good sense of control, and the whole system was functioning exceptionally well.
Watching the scenery rush by in reverse, Jiang Hui thought they were finally going to make it without any issues.
But unexpectedly, she spotted a massive boulder blocking the way several hundred meters ahead. One breath, two breaths… they were about to crash! She broke into a cold sweat and instinctively pushed Xierman arm. The entire vehicle spun sharply, just barely avoiding the massive rock.
