The Strongest Ice God of Black Clover

Chapter 17: The Strongest Ice God Of Black Clover 017 New Magic

Listening to Yami's words, Magna was stunned for a moment before muttering, "Isn't he a fuel-efficient lamp? Seems interesting."

Magna's tone resembled that of a street gangster, his face lighting up with excitement. He grabbed the cloak from his shoulders and said to Lin Hao, "Want the Black Bulls' cloak?"

Lin Hao hesitated for a moment, then chuckled lightly. "Actually, I don't think it matters if I want it or not. After all, you should know that I'm a member of the Black Bull Knights."

Hearing this, Magna's expression darkened. What's this guy's background? He doesn't follow the rules at all!

"You... You can't be considered a real member of the Black Bull Knights until I, Magna, acknowledge you," Magna said firmly.

"This is the Black Bulls' baptism!" Finral added from the side.

Lin Hao's face tightened, but he reluctantly accepted the idea of this group initiation. However, if it wasn't for the "baptism" of joining the group, Lin Hao wouldn't even bother with Magna. Even if Magna didn't approve, it didn't matter; he was already a Black Bull Knight in name.

"Then tell me, what do you want?" Lin Hao asked.

Magna sneered. "Whatever it is, magic or not, you have to either defend or avoid my attacking magic."

"If you can do that, then you'll officially be a member of our Black Bull Squad."

"Can we fight back?" Lin Hao asked.

Magna smiled disdainfully. "Of course."

"Understood," Lin Hao nodded.

A short while later, Lin Hao followed Magna into the yard, where the other members of the Black Bulls gathered to watch the spectacle.

"Are you ready? I'm about to attack!" Magna laughed, a wild glint in his eyes.

"Bring it on!" Lin Hao said calmly, as his Grimoire floated in front of him.

"Ka-ka-ka!"

Magna's Grimoire flipped open, and a fireball the size of a baseball condensed in his palm. Without hesitation, he pulled out a baseball bat from the Grimoire—except this bat wasn't ordinary. Its entire length was engulfed in flames.

Lin Hao quickly understood Magna's intent. While he didn't want to reveal his freezing abilities openly, he could create ice weapons without arousing suspicion—especially if, like Magna, he pulled them from the Grimoire. Who would doubt it?

With that thought, Lin Hao pretended to flip through his own Grimoire.

With a soft "shua!" he drew out a long ice sword.

The Black Bull members watching the match were stunned.

"Wow! What kind of sword is that? It's so cool!"

"Isn't this guy's magic supposed to be plant-based? How did he pull out such a weapon? Was it in the Grimoire from the start?" Yami murmured, frozen in surprise.

But to Lin Hao's surprise, the others didn't seem to care about what was pulled from the Grimoire at all. They either didn't question it, or perhaps it was because the Grimoire was trusted as the source of the magic.

"Is it starting?" Magna said, his grin widening. He tossed the fireball to his side, then gripped the fiery bat with both hands.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Magna launched a barrage of small fireballs toward Lin Hao.

"Whoosh! Whoosh!" The fireballs shot through the air with great speed.

Lin Hao swung the ice sword two or three times, easily knocking the fireballs aside. The fireballs didn't even leave a mark on the ice sword.

"Oh, not bad!" Magna grinned, impressed, before adding, "But now for the main event!"

Magna's fiery bat floated in mid-air as the small fireballs disappeared. Then, he flipped his Grimoire again.

A massive fireball—several times larger than the previous one—condensed in his palm. A gust of wind swept through the air, and the surrounding temperature rose sharply.

Lin Hao frowned. This fireball seemed extremely powerful. It was likely too strong for his ice sword to handle.

"Flame Magic: Explosive Killing Booming Flame Ball!" Magna shouted, adopting a throwing stance, then hurled the gigantic fireball toward Lin Hao.

Lin Hao's ice sword vanished in an instant, transforming into vapor and disappearing from view.

The fireball drew nearer, and Lin Hao remained calm, prepared to take the hit.

Just as he was about to be struck, Lin Hao's Grimoire flipped open on its own. His hand froze, and the pages stopped on a blank one.

However, just as the blank page appeared, words began to form on it.

"This is...? New magic?" Lin Hao muttered, surprised.
