The Strongest Ice God of Black Clover

Chapter 19: The Strongest Ice God Of Black Clover 019 New Members

"It seems the Black Bull cape suits you very well!" Yami remarked casually.

Lin Hao glanced at Yami and smiled wryly. If he were to be honest, Yami appeared more normal than anyone else. His outwardly normal appearance had deceived Lin Hao's perception.

"In that case, you're officially a member of the Black Bulls Magic Knights. Be sure not to bring discredit to Captain Yami or the squad," Magna said slowly.

Meanwhile, in the Clover Kingdom's capital, the current Magic Emperor sat in a grand hall, quietly examining a Grimoire.

"Tap tap tap!"

At that moment, a man with mushroom-shaped hair entered the hall. He was Marx Francovo, the Magic Emperor's trusted confidant.

The Magic Emperor closed his Grimoire and looked up slowly as he heard the footsteps.

"Oh, Marx, you're here. Have you sorted out the matters outside?" The Magic Emperor asked with a slight smile.

Unlike most kings, the Magic Emperor had an easygoing personality that didn't intimidate those around him.

Marx nodded and replied, "Yes, Magic Emperor. The commotion in the market today was caused by a candidate for the knight order exam."

"Oh?" The Magic Emperor raised an eyebrow with interest. "I thought it was one of the knights. What happened?"

"No, it wasn't. It was a candidate," Marx repeated.

"Can this candidate really turn the whole city into ruins? Sounds like they're no ordinary person. Do you know their name?" The Magic Emperor asked as he stood up.

"Hill Lin Hao," Marx answered.

"Hill Lin Hao? Are they from a noble family?" The Magic Emperor asked, intrigued.

Marx shook his head. "No, he's from Haji Village, on the border."

"Haji Village?" The Magic Emperor smiled, his eyes twinkling. "It's rare for someone from such a remote place to come all the way to take the Magic Knights exam."

"Magic Emperor," Marx said again.

"Hmm?" The Magic Emperor turned to look at him, sensing there was more.

"There's another interesting candidate among the group today. One who was chosen by the Four-Leaf Clover Grimoire," Marx said slowly.

"The Four-Leaf Clover Grimoire?" The Magic Emperor's interest peaked.

"Yes."

"Oh, seems like this year's candidates are quite impressive. Are they from any royal or noble families?" The Magic Emperor asked.

Marx shook his head. "No, they are also from Haji Village."

At this, the Magic Emperor's expression changed subtly before a strange smile appeared on his face. "Looks like Haji Village is a place of interest."

"Magic Emperor?" Marx asked, sensing something unusual.

The Magic Emperor looked at him curiously. "Marx, what's wrong with you today? You've been hesitating—what's bothering you?"

"I'm sorry, Magic Emperor. Among the candidates, there's one who has no magic power," Marx explained.

"Isn't that normal? Don't bother me with such trivial matters; I'm very busy," the Magic Emperor yawned.

"Magic Emperor, please listen. Though this candidate lacks magic power, his Grimoire holds a weapon that repels all magic," Marx clarified.

The Magic Emperor paused, now intrigued. "Are there really that many promising candidates this year?"

Before he could ask more, the Magic Emperor suddenly said, "He's not from Haji Village, is he?"

Marx was taken aback. "How did you know, Magic Emperor?"

The Magic Emperor's face grew a little serious. "It seems three of the most talked-about candidates this year are from Haji Village."

"Is there any great mage from near Haji Village?" the Magic Emperor asked.

Marx shook his head. "I'm not sure."

The Magic Emperor's face grew contemplative. "Well, I've got a task that needs to be completed, and I'll need these three candidates. Each of their groups will require an old member to guide them. Marx, inform them tomorrow."

Marx nodded before turning and leaving.

The next morning, Lin Hao groggily woke up and stepped out of his room, only to find that the castle's layout had changed from the night before.

"An illusion?" Lin Hao thought, about to touch the wall to confirm.

Just then, a voice came from behind him.

"Don't worry, it's not an illusion. Our stronghold changes its shape and layout frequently," Magna explained.

"Is that so?" Lin Hao smiled wryly.

"Of course, you'll get used to it. By the way, Captain Yami asked you to meet the new members who came in with you," Magna said with a grin.

The real reason was that Yami had asked Magna to take Lin Hao to meet another new member.

"Where are we meeting them?" Lin Hao asked without thinking too much.

"Do you remember the yard from last night? Just walk a little further," Magna said with a smile.

"But, I haven't seen them yet!" Lin Hao raised an eyebrow.

"Don't worry. As long as you head toward the Black Bull Squad, you'll meet the new member," Magna reassured him.

Lin Hao nodded and walked toward the courtyard.

After walking for a bit, Lin Hao found himself by a large tree and waited quietly.

Soon, a vague figure began to take shape.

When it got closer, Lin Hao was surprised to see that the person was Noelle, the woman he had seen in the exam room the previous day.

Noelle immediately recognized Lin Hao. "It's you?" she said, her face stiff.

Lin Hao didn't answer directly, instead saying, "You must be the new member Captain Yami was talking about."

Noelle nodded.
