(3rd Person: POV)

Peter continued starting at Nick Fury in utter silence, until Coulson got in the SUV passenger seat and a divider screen came down separating the front and back of the vehicle.

Which began moving shortly after Coulson entered it.

"So, to think the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. would be a modern day pirate. Surprising. But if you're doing your job right then I get why you're in charge." Peter mused.

Only for Fury to give him a deadpan look in response.

"First off, I'm not a pirate."

"Really? Trench coat, eyepatch. You sure you're not a pirate?" Peter mused once more.

"I'm not." Fury replied. "And more to the point, Spiderman how is it you know I'm the director of S.H.I.E.L.D.?"

"Whatever you say." Peter replied. "And as for the answer to your question all I can say is I have my sources." He replied.

Peter's sources being the memories of his previous life. That's how he knows how the Samuel L. Jackson look-alike runs S.H.I.E.L.D.

But that doesn't answers Peter's question of what kind of version of Fury he dealing with at the moment. Like is the Fury in front of him the son of Nick Fury Sr., like in the mainstream comics. Or is he the only Nick Fury in this reality. Also does he have either the Infinity Formula or Super Soldier Serum running in his veins, like in the comics as well.

So many questions, yet Peter had no answers.

But he is sure he'll get something out of this meeting.

Hearing Peter reply to his question Fury simply began glaring at him.

Yet his gaze didn't make Peter cower even a little.

"Hey, hey, what's with the glare? I mean I get I'm irresistible to look at but I'm not just some piece of meat. I have feelings. Then again most meat is alive before it becomes meat so I guess technically I am a piece of meat." He spoke.

Ignoring his joke like earlier, and seeing Peter wasn't going to give up anything on how he knew about S.H.I.E.L.D. before they just met the organization dirdeor felt it was time to move on.

"Ill get right to the chase Spiderman. Come and work for S.H.I.E.L.D." Fury spoke.

"No." Peter replied. Since he didn't want to work for an organization infiltrated by people into worshipping and playing with squids.

Because Peter had seen enough tentacle hentai to know the people of Hydra must be some real freaks.

"I like my freedom and indepence too much." Peter explained. "But I wouldn't mind being a freelance contractor and or special consultant for your organization. So long as certain demands of mine are met."

Since although Peter wouldn't become an agent for S.H.I.E.L.D. he wanted to stay close to the organization.

"Such as?" Fury inquired.

"First, I want constant updates on William Baker and his condition." Peter spoke. Since he didn't want Baker to become a Hydra puppet.

In fact Peter didn't want Baker involved with the current S.H.I.E.L.D. at all, but he didn't have any choice now that they had taken him into their custody.

"Secondly, I need you to get a few items for me." Peter spoke. He then told Fury what he wanted.

Which would help him take his Spiderman game to the next level.

"Doable." Fury replied. "Now then, have a look at this." He spoke.

Fury then pulled out a file from within his trench coat and handed it over to Peter.

Who took it and raised a brow, for the file had the words [Avengers Initiative] stamped in bold letters on it.

"Avengers Initiative?" Peter questioned.

Even though he already knew what it was and what it could become.

"Long ago there was an idea, to bring together a group of remarkable people that could save and protect the world when no one else could." Fury said. "And from what S.H.I.E.L.D. has observed of your activities the last few months Spiderman we think you could be one of those people." He spoke.

As Fury did Peter opened the file and examined the candidates Fury had already selected for the Initiative.

Which were mostly in line with his memories from his previous life.

Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Steve Rogers who apparently had been found and thawed out of ice a couple of years ago, earlier than in the films, and all the other Avengers from the starting line up in the films, save Thor.

Except for one.

Wasp.

Whose real name was Hope Van Dyn, and agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.

'Interesting.' Peter thought.

It looked like the Hope Pym of this reality was similar to that one version of herself from the show Marvel's What If?

With that Peter hoped she didn't die before the Avengers assembled.

Which might cause her father, Hank Pym, to go all psycho murderer on the other candidates in retaliation.

Speaking of Hank Pym Peter couldn't believe he was alright with S.H.I.E.L.D. having access to his technology.

Until he noted in the file Hope mother Janet was very much alive and well, and had never gotten lost in the Quantum Realm like in the MCU.

Though she and Hank had retired from superheroics and still founded Pym Technologies. But to this day they remained consultants for S.H.I.E.L.D.

After he finished reading the file Peter closed it and turned to Fury. "Cool, I'm in." He replied. "Now we can discuss payment later, since this is our first meeting and all. But otherwise so long as you keep your word to me Fury I'm good with assisting you and S.H.I.E.L.D. However I do have lines I will never cross. And if you attempt to make me cross them or try and fuck me over in anyway...well let's just say you'll regret it. Understand?"

Staring at Spiderman Fury could tell he was deadly serious with his words just now.

"Yes." He replied.

So he gave an immediate answer. While also raising Spiderman threat level in his mind.

Since it seems he was more dangerous than meets the eye.

"Great." Peter replied.

He then discussed a few more things with Fury, before giving him the number of his untraceable cell phone, and bidding Nick and S.H.I.E.L.D. farewell.

He then found a secluded spot and used a spell to scan his body for tracking and listening devices, finding he has six planted on him.

Not that this surprised Peter.

It was S.H.I.E.L.D. after all.

Moving on.

With a simple snap of his fingers he got rid of all devices planted on him.

He then portal'd back to the Spider's Den.

Only to immediately receive a call on his regular/legal phone from Gwen.

"Hello, this is Parker-"

"-Peter, this is no time for jokes. Things are serious!" Gwen quickly interrupted.

Hearing this Peter put a serious expression on his face. "What's wrong Gwen?"

"It's Liz. She's on fire!"

"Then call the fire department." Peter replied.

"No, sorry. I mean she's on fire but it's not hurting her. Peter she has powers." Gwen quickly explained.

"I see." Peter replied.

Working to hold back a sigh.

Since it looks like the Liz Allan of this universe might be a mutant like her Earth-1610 counterpart.

"Understood. I'll be right there. Where are you guys?" I questioned.

"The school." Gwen replied.

"On my way." Peter said.

He then ended the call.

"A heroes work is never done." Peter mused.

He then opened up a new portal and headed out once more to save the day.

Spider-Man style of course.
