The Synthesis Wizard

Chapter 197: Chapter 197: We Will Meet Again

What was happening?

The Dark Elf Matriarchs stared in stunned disbelief at the second girl who appeared.

She was identical in every way to the one lying on the ground—face, figure, and even the smallest details. It was as if they had been crafted from the same mold.

"What… what is going on?" murmured Matriarch Philil in shock.

But no one answered her question.

Everyone was too overcome with disbelief to respond, until Matriarch Aurora's startled exclamation broke the silence.

"Look at her arm!"

Following Aurora's gaze, the Matriarchs' eyes fell upon the severed arm of the girl in the pit. Their pupils contracted sharply.

Where flesh and blood should have been, the wound revealed a liquid that flowed like mercury.

Matriarch Lestia's face darkened.

If it were just the mercury-like liquid, it might be dismissed as an unusual bloodline trait. But the sudden appearance of a second identical girl forced a far more terrifying possibility into their minds.

The girl they had assumed to be the wizard ruler of the Star Alliance… was likely just a puppet!

The other Matriarchs soon reached the same conclusion, their expressions growing grim.

"It could be twin wizards..." Philil suggested through gritted teeth, but even she found the notion absurd.

Wizards were rare enough; twin wizards were almost unheard of. The odds were simply too low.

The truth was plain to see but hard to accept.

If these two powerful girls were indeed puppets, then the wizard capable of crafting such creations must be unfathomably strong.

The mere thought made their scalps tingle and sent chills down their spines.

---

Meanwhile, even the Half-Spider Creature seemed momentarily startled by the appearance of the second puppet girl. The blood-streaked visage of the monster displayed brief surprise before it was overtaken by a surge of murderous intent.

It didn't matter how many there were.

They would all die!

With a sharp clang, the creature's blades clashed together, and it lunged at the second puppet.

---

On the city wall, Xieman and Artil exhaled in quiet relief.

The second puppet's timely arrival had averted a potential disaster. Losing one of these puppets here would have been impossible to explain to their teacher.

While they didn't know the exact cost of these puppets, Xieman guessed it wasn't any less than the expense of assembling a small golem army. After all, these were puppets with wizard-level combat power.

Battlefield Developments

In the pit, the wounded puppet girl slowly rose to her feet.

Her entire body shimmered with a mercury-like glow. The silver liquid on her skin seemed to ripple and flow, gathering around her severed arm. In moments, new bones and flesh began to form.

Before long, her arm was fully regenerated, and her skin returned to its normal color.

Surprisingly, the fully healed puppet didn't reengage the Half-Spider Creature. Instead, she retreated.

The second puppet, who had been locked in combat with the creature, also withdrew.

The Half-Spider Creature hesitated for a moment before moving to pursue, only to halt abruptly.

Its body stiffened in midair, and its head turned sharply toward a figure that had appeared in the void without anyone noticing.

Hovering in the air was a man, his gaze leisurely fixed on the creature as if studying an interesting specimen.

Both sides of the battle immediately noticed the man's arrival.

On the city wall, Xieman and Artil's faces lit up with joy.

"Teacher!"

The newcomer was none other than Su Nan.

Although they were surprised to see their teacher here, relief quickly washed over them.

They had been worried the two puppets might not be enough to handle the Half-Spider Creature, but with their teacher present, there was no longer any doubt.

On the other side, the Dark Elf Matriarchs collectively paled.

The identity of the newcomer was unmistakable—the true ruler of the Star Alliance and the creator of the two powerful puppets.

"He's just a wizard! With the Divine Envoy here, we'll be fine!" Philil muttered, as though trying to convince herself. "The Divine Envoy is a servant of the Spider Queen. It will surely defeat that wizard!"

"Yes!"

"The Spider Queen's envoy will not lose to a mere wizard!"

"We'll see how this plays out!"

The Matriarchs echoed her sentiments, though their voices lacked conviction, sounding more like an attempt to boost their own morale.

---

A Calculated Gamble

Su Nan ignored the Matriarchs entirely, his attention focused solely on the Half-Spider Creature.

"Half-Spider Divine Follower," he murmured, the corners of his mouth curling into a faint smile.

After absorbing divine energy countless times, Su Nan was intimately familiar with its aura. He could clearly sense the immense reservoir of divine energy within the creature—far more than the twenty-odd Spiderling Elves he had dealt with before.

This was a higher-tier divine follower, stronger and more dangerous.

It didn't take long for him to deduce the situation.

"The Spider Queen must have realized I've been using Spiderweb City as a source of divine energy. She's finally decided to end this game, sending everything in one final gamble."

If the creature succeeded in eliminating the Star Alliance, it would be a great victory for the Spider Queen. If it failed, she could still minimize her losses.

"What a pity," Su Nan said softly, his tone tinged with regret.

If the Spider Queen had waited another ten or twenty years, Su Nan might have used the steady influx of divine energy to break through to Level 1 Liquidation.

But he quickly dismissed the thought. The Spider Queen was far too cunning to let things drag on that long.

"Well, one last harvest isn't so bad."

Su Nan's eyes gleamed as he stared at the Half-Spider Creature.

To him, it was nothing more than a walking treasure trove.

The creature seemed enraged by Su Nan's predatory gaze. With a sharp screech, it launched itself at him, its body ablaze with a sinister purple fire.

The flames left streaks of violet in the air, making the creature resemble a shooting star.

---

Unleashing Power

Su Nan remained motionless, hovering in the air.

From the surface of his skin, streams of silvery liquid emerged, flowing together to envelop him in a radiant sphere of liquid silver.

In the next instant, a massive silver hand shot out from the sphere, striking the Half-Spider Creature with earth-shattering force.

Boom!

The creature was sent hurtling to the ground like a cannonball, crashing into the earth with a deafening roar.

Smoke and dust billowed into the air, revealing a massive crater.

The silver hand continued to extend, followed by an arm, a shoulder, and finally an entire silver giant emerged from the liquid sphere.

The giant descended, landing beside the crater with a thundering impact. It raised a colossal fist and brought it down.

The Half-Spider Creature struggled upright, crossing its twin scimitars to block the blow.

Bang!

The impact sent shockwaves rippling through the air, but the creature's eight legs barely bent under the force before it straightened again.

It had matched the giant's strength blow for blow.

Su Nan raised an eyebrow in surprise.

"This thing is stronger than I expected."

Clearly, it hadn't been using its full strength against the puppet girls, likely to conserve energy in the Starlight Continent's restrictive environment.

Still, this was no ordinary creature—it was a Level 1 Gaseous Wizard-level entity, fully capable of killing a Level 1 Gaseous Wizard in direct combat.

"This won't be resolved with ordinary methods," Su Nan mused, his eyes narrowing.

The silver giant unleashed a flurry of punches, its fists blurring into a storm of silver. The Half-Spider Creature met the assault head-on, its twin blades weaving an impenetrable web of steel.

---

A Devastating Counterattack

As the battle raged, the creature suddenly lashed out with its spider-like legs, aiming for the giant's lower limbs.

At such close range, Su Nan had no time to evade, but he didn't intend to.

When the razor-sharp legs struck the giant's body, they slowed as if caught in quicksand.

Before the creature could pull back, the silver giant rippled like water, and Su Nan emerged from within.

In his hand was an inscribed gemstone, etched with intricate runes.

The Half-Spider Creature sensed danger and tried to retreat, but it was too late.

In the next moment, blinding lightning exploded outward, filling the entire battlefield with its radiance.

Inscribed Gemstone: Thunderburst.

Unlike ordinary spells, inscribed gemstones released all their energy in a single catastrophic burst. Though expensive and single-use, their power far exceeded that of most third-ring spells.

The lightning engulfed the Half-Spider Creature in an instant, drowning out its agonized screams beneath the deafening roar of thunder.

The inscribed gemstone not only carried energy three times stronger than a standard rune inscription but also unleashed all its energy in one devastating burst. While this came at the cost of being single-use and high in production expense, the sheer destructive power it provided was undeniable.

In an instant, a surge of blinding lightning engulfed the Half-Spider Divine Follower, its furious screams drowned beneath the deafening roar of thunder.

Arcs of electricity radiated outward, spreading across a radius of three to four hundred meters. Many Dark Elf warriors caught within the range were instantly paralyzed, their bodies freezing in place. Before they could recover, the immunity to paralysis granted the golems the opportunity to crush their heads with ruthless precision.

---

A Desperate Escape

The lingering energy of the lightning storm had barely dissipated when a figure darted out from the crackling remnants, rushing toward the direction of the Dark Elf forces.

Divine creatures do not experience fear, but they are capable of strategy.

Realizing it was no match for Su Nan, the Half-Spider Divine Follower made a swift decision to retreat, conserving its remaining power.

Su Nan's cold gaze locked onto the retreating figure. With a flick of his wrist, a dark object appeared in his palm.

It was a jet-black spearhead, only about the length of a pinky finger. Its surface was etched with intricate lightning-shaped runes, emanating a chilling aura of destruction.

This was one of Su Nan's two prized arcane tools, the Black Thunder.

As his fingers closed around it, radiant lightning erupted from his palm, quickly condensing into a long shape. In mere moments, the jet-black spearhead had transformed into a thunderous spear, its shaft formed entirely from condensed lightning energy.

The spear radiated a terrifying and oppressive aura, its power so intense that even the retreating Half-Spider Divine Follower stopped in its tracks, its expression contorting in shock.

---

A Clash of Divine Powers

At that moment, a strange aura descended upon the battlefield, enveloping the divine follower.

A shadowy black spider, about the size of a human hand, materialized on the creature's back, its ethereal form radiating divine energy.

Su Nan's gaze sharpened, a faint smirk tugging at his lips.

"So, you've finally decided to intervene."

Without hesitation, he hurled the thunder spear with all his might.

The spear tore through the air with a deafening sonic boom, a streak of black lightning that seemed to split the sky. In the blink of an eye, it was upon the Half-Spider Divine Follower's back.

Sensing the mortal danger, the spider shadow twisted and morphed into the shape of a slender, graceful hand. The hand reached out to intercept the spear, its movements fluid yet precise.

Under the watchful eyes of all present, the hand clashed with the spear, unleashing an explosion of blinding light.

Sharp, crystalline noises mingled with muffled rumbles as invisible shockwaves rippled outward, distorting the very air. Even spectators far from the impact site could feel the oppressive force, their consciousness wavering under its weight.

For a moment, time seemed to freeze.

Then, the delicate hand began to fracture, breaking apart piece by piece before disintegrating into ash.

The black thunder spear, undeterred, continued its trajectory, piercing through the divine follower's back.

The creature's body froze mid-air before plummeting like a lifeless puppet, crashing heavily into the ground.

---

The Spider Queen's Whisper

As the dust settled, Su Nan faintly heard a soft, malicious laugh echoing in his ears.

"Young wizard, we will meet again."

Su Nan narrowed his eyes but showed no reaction. Without a word, he extended his hand, and the fallen body of the Half-Spider Divine Follower rose into the air. With a casual gesture, it disappeared into his spatial ring.

Without sparing the Dark Elf army a glance, Su Nan turned and flew toward Bank City.

---

The Collapse of Morale

In the rear ranks of the battlefield, the Dark Elf Matriarchs stared blankly at Su Nan's departing figure. Their minds buzzed with shock, their thoughts in disarray.

They had lost.

The divine envoy they had pinned their hopes on was dead—just like that.

They had even witnessed their revered Spider Queen personally intervene in the final moment, yet it wasn't enough to stop the wizard's attack.

If even the Spider Queen couldn't deal with this wizard, what hope did they have?

Spiderweb City was finished.

The same realization struck all twelve Matriarchs simultaneously.

The Final Blow

As if to punctuate their despair, the distant gates of Bank City swung open.

A flood of golems poured forth, an unstoppable tide surging toward the battlefield.

At the same time, the steady, thunderous sound of marchi

ng footsteps echoed from both flanks.

Knights mounted on Obsidian Panthers and Dragon Antelopes charged from the sides, slicing through the battlefield like twin blades, heading straight for the rear ranks of the Dark Elf army.

The Matriarchs watched this scene unfold, their faces drained of color.
