Chapter 6: Chapter 6 - Mission Unaccomplished
Princess Zakia's head was hurt while she was touching her head. "What happened?"
She saw how Prince Hendrix was sleeping peacefully in front of her. She realized it was inappropriate to sleep together in the study room. She carefully went back to her position when he was about to wake up. He moved silently, raising his hands above his head and he saw how the poor boy was sleeping.
He couldn't believe that he overslept like that after eating and drinking alcohol with sleeping pills. He was afraid of being caught by the poor boy so he stood up and stretched his arms and legs.
Princess Zakia pretended to wake up and saw the prince stretching his arms. "What happened?"
"You overslept here." He was pretending that he didn't sleep with the poor boy.
Princess Zakia was wondering about the sleeping pills. Maybe he put some to the food that was why he smelled the other foods. "Wait. Have you ever wondered how I had fallen asleep fast?"
He pretended to know nothing about the sleeping pills. "I don't know."
She smirked and stood up. She made herself close to his body and teased him to tell her the truth. "Are you planning to investigate me?"
He looked away. "No. I don't know what you're talking about." He turned his back on her.
She smiled and teased him more. "Just tell me the truth and I will forgive you." She wanted to be in front of him but he always turned his back on her. She was happy doing that and after teasing him, she twisted her foot and almost landed on the floor but he caught her waist and pulled her body against his.
"That was close. Be careful next time." Prince Hendrix got her off and went to the study table to review his work. "Let me tell you something." He glared at the poor boy and commanded him to be there. "Have a seat."
"Just be my company in this case. I know well that you are familiar with the poison smell. I tried hiding the truth about investigating you but you caught me off guard. You are smart, poor boy." He played the poor boy's hair.
The poor boy was annoyed about petting and he removed it. "Don't touch my hair."
Prince Hendrix smelled his hand after touching the poor boy's hair. It was a good fragrance to him. It was the smell of vanilla and flowers. This made him think about the real identity of the poor boy.
Princess Zakia was almost caught off guard too. With this incident, she would be extra careful of herself. She went out of the Kingdom of Azria while all of the guards were busy eating their snacks.
She came back to the Kingdom of Samdrathania and went back to her bedroom hall. She spent hours thinking about where she would hide when she was not around the palace. She thought about the woods and the place where she spent the whole ten years alone. She was safe there alone if ever the prince wanted to know where she was staying and where she lived.
She planned to observe how people act when they were poor and she listed it all in her notebook. She was trying to imitate them late at night and prepared to do things she never did. She carried a pile of wood to bring into her small house in the woods. It was a bit far from the palace but she could manage to be there on time because of her running skills.
"This is the perfect place." She was looking at an old house in which she stayed for ten years.
She was thinking about her past. She was forbidden to see her parents because she would be staying here for the whole time. All she could do was to eat and sleep. She wasn't playing with someone. She was all alone before having a maid in the palace. She was alone there and couldn't even have a conversation with her parents. It was an awful thing to her.
She heard the maids preparing her food that she was the one in the prophecy who would bring chaos to the four Kingdoms. She would be in trouble if she went out without the permission of her parents. She envied her sibling because she could do everything and she was loved by many.
She couldn't hold back her tears as she remembered everything by looking at the small house. She was alone there and nobody was comforting her all the time. Whenever she was sick, the chief of medicine feared her. He couldn't even touch her while giving a procedure for her sickness.
She wiped her tears and started walking. She was watching the birds and animals silently doing things.
"I hope that everything will be good tomorrow." She sighed and went to the lake. She washed her face there and soaked her legs there. She was relieved with peace for a while.
Prince Hendrix was riding on his horse as he was waiting for the butler to fetch him. He went to the lake to wash his face and hands. He saw the poor boy there, soaking his feet on the lake. He went close to greet him.
"Poor boy." He petted his hair and the poor boy seemed flustered and when he looked closely, it was Prince Hendrix who arrived.
"Your greetings, Prince Hendrix." He greeted him well but the prince refused.
"Please don't greet me anymore like that. We are friends starting now." He offered his hand and the poor boy reached his hand to his. "This will be our meeting place for the mission."
Princess Zakia was shocked as he offered himself as her friend. She looked like a filthy boy and yet, this man still wanted to be her friend. She knew that she was deceiving him but never had the guts to tell him the truth. She was afraid of what would come next after her secret was revealed.
"It is my pleasure to be your friend, Prince Hendrix." She smiled at him.
"Me too..." Looking into the poor boy's eyes, he was asking for his name.
"It's Prime." She introduced herself without thinking of other names except her pet's name, Prime. She has a cat named Prime and she didn't want to be discovered.
"Me too, Prime." Prince Hendrix smiled and petted the poor boy's hair.
"Please stop doing that." She was annoyed.
He smelled the same fragrance, vanilla with the smell of flowers through the blow of the wind.
