The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Amadeus, Are You Free?_1

Outside the Waterfront Pavilion.

The Zachmann Family car arrived.

As soon as Nathalie Quinlan stepped out, her phone in her bag vibrated incessantly. She fished out the phone, glanced at it, and stopped in her tracks as she walked outside.

"Nathalie, what's wrong?" Mr. Zachmann was always attentive to her every move and immediately asked with concern when he saw her stop.

"Did you forget to take something?"

"No."

What she needed to pick up was in another place.

Nathalie put her phone back in her pocket and looked up to negotiate with him, "Grandpa, I want to go somewhere later."

Mr. Zachmann, who had just found her, would have plucked the stars from the sky for her if he could and said without a second thought, "Where do you want to go? I'll have your brother take you there."

A look of displeasure flashed in Caryn Zachmann's eyes as she interjected, "Grandpa, I have a news conference later, and my second brother already promised to take me there."

Caryn Zachmann, known as a beauty and a scholar, had made a small name for herself in the entertainment circle, having acted in numerous TV dramas even before graduating.

She was somewhat famous in Beijing already.

"Isn't it fine if a driver takes you?" Mr. Zachmann disapproved of her involvement in the entertainment industry. The Zachmann Family's standing didn't require Caryn to seek publicity, but Leonardy Zachmann and Celine Tucker supported Caryn's foray into the entertainment circle. As her grandfather, he couldn't be too forceful and disallow the young people to have their own ideas.

Caryn pouted unhappily, clinging to his arm and acting spoiled, "I already made plans with my second brother this morning."

She looked at Nathalie with hostility and casually said, "Let the driver take Nathalie."

Nathalie wasn't blind and saw the hostility directed at her. She spoke nonchalantly, "There's no need for such trouble; I'll just take a taxi."

"That won't do at all!" Mr. Zachmann was the first to object!

He frowned in thought for a moment, then suddenly turned to the side and said to the distinguished-looking man, "Amadeus, do you have time to give Nathalie a ride?"

Caryn's lips tightened, and her complexion changed slightly at once.

Her insistence on having Audrick take her wasn't about Audrick, but about the person accompanying him! She was thinking of seizing an opportunity for alone time with that person, but if Amadeus were to take Nathalie, then her request would have been in vain.

She clung to Mr. Zachmann with a forced expression and hurriedly said, "Grandpa, Brother Amadeus is surely too busy and won't have time. Why don't we let my second brother take her? I'll take a taxi myself."

"Didn't you just say your second brother had made an arrangement with you?" Mr. Zachmann then turned his gaze to the tall and upright young man, asking for his input, "Amadeus, are you free?"

The implication was clear: if he was busy, then never mind.

Amadeus Yancey, who was standing in an relaxed manner, glanced at the girl beside him who was replying to a message, and then turned to Mr. Zachmann with a bloodthirsty coldness on his predacious face, "I'm free. I'll take her."

Caryn's expression grew even uglier.

She managed to squeeze out a smile and offered with feigned kindness, "Brother Amadeus, you must be tired from just returning from Kingsbury. Let my second brother take Nathalie!"

Celine Tucker knew her daughter's wishes well. With Amadeus Yancey's status, who wouldn't want such a son-in-law?

She, who had been silent all evening, finally spoke up, "Yes, Amadeus, let Audrick take her."

Audrick, oblivious to these subtle details, casually patted him on the shoulder and asked in a low voice, "Haven't you been sleep-deprived for three days? If you really can't, go rest first, and I'll take Nathalie."

"No need, I'll take her myself."

Audrick: "…"

Amadeus took the car keys from him and didn't bother with Caryn or the others, walking straight up to Nathalie. He lowered his distinguished and majestic eyes and asked slowly, "Where to?"

Nathalie was someone who hated being a bother, especially when it came to interpersonal interactions!

She saw Caryn a few meters away glaring at her with resentment, and even Celine's gaze was cold and rejecting.

She averted her gaze, then took another look at the man who, for some reason, intended to give her a ride.

Her temples began throbbing again.

Audrick, this friend... what a pain!

She put her phone back in her pocket, not looking at the Zachmann Family and said, "Wangjiang South Road."
