The Vampire Lords Greatest Fear

Chapter 18: Half Bloods I

In the shadows, the spirit lingered, its essence swirling like smoke as it trailed Buck silently through the castle corridors taking the form of various peoples shadows. It watched with keen eyes, hidden from view, as Buck confronted his father, their clash echoing through the stone walls. The shadow spirit felt a flicker of empathy for the young warrior, but it was quickly overshadowed by a darker thrill.

As the confrontation faded into the distance, the shadow spirit took to the air, gliding silently through the dense canopy of trees. Its form blurred and melded with the darkness, moving effortlessly between the gnarled branches and leaves that whispered secrets of the night. The moonlight filtered through, casting an ethereal glow on its path, but the spirit remained unseen, a wisp of shadow among the shadows.

With each beat of its intangible wings, it soared over the landscape, the castle looming ahead like a dark sentinel against the starry sky. The spirit reveled in the thrill of its flight, feeling the pulse of the earth beneath it, and the anticipation of sharing its dark tidings with the vampire lord. As it approached the castle, the air grew colder, and the scent of ancient stone filled its senses, signaling that it was home once more.

Upon entering the grand chamber, the shadow spirit bowed before the vampire lord. "My lord," it whispered, "I bring news of the battle between Buck and his father. It was fierce, filled with raw emotion. Buck fought valiantly, but he believes his sisters have betrayed him, that they acted under your command."

The vampire lord let out a deep, menacing laugh. "Ah, the best way to defeat an enemy," he said, his voice dripping with malice, "is to disperse their thoughts of ever forming a powerful alliance against you. Excellent. Let him think he stands alone. This is just the beginning of his unraveling."

As he continued to converse with the shadow spirit, he caught sight of his wives in the distance, beckoning him. Their long, flowing hair glimmered under the dim light, each strand reflecting hues of gold and chestnut. "Come be with us," they whispered, their voices melodic and inviting. Enchanted, he walked toward them, allowing them to lead him into the room where Lila, with her striking emerald eyes and porcelain skin, and the new girl, whose dark curls cascaded down her back, were entwined in intimate acts. He stepped back, watching from the shadows, unseen by either Lila or the girl.

Lila, caressing the girl's body, her delicate fingers tracing over the girl's soft curves, brought her to the brink of ecstasy. Suddenly, the girl dropped to her knees before Lila, her full lips trembling. "Please, bite me. I can't die and leave you. I can't grow old. Let me be your vampire slave," she cried, desperation in her voice, her dark lashes glistening with unshed tears.

Lila, moved by her plea, grabbed the girl by her waist, feeling the softness of her body as she pulled her closer. With a seductive grace, she placed the girl onto the bed, their eyes locking in an intense gaze that ignited a spark between them. Lila's toned arms showcased her strength as she held the girl's wrists apart, sinking her fangs into the girl's neck and drawing forth her blood. The girl initially screamed in pain, her body arching, but soon pleasure washed over her, transforming her cries into playful smiles.

As the transformation began, the girl shook violently, her once smooth skin was glistening with sweat. Lila tried to soothe her, her own heart racing, but the agony was overwhelming. The girl coughed up blood, her body growing still, a nosebleed trickling down her face, contrasting sharply against her pale complexion.

"What went wrong?" Lila asked, panic rising in her voice. The vampire lord emerged from the shadows, his tall, imposing figure cloaked in darkness, his sharp features accentuated by the flickering candlelight. His tone grave. "She must have been pregnant. You couldn't transform a pregnant human, not when you turned human into vampire like her. If you had been pure like me, it would have worked."

"But couldn't you save her?" Lila pleaded, tears streaming down her cheeks, her vulnerability laid bare. The vampire lord pulled her into a tight embrace, his strong arms wrapping around her. "I couldn't do anything; she gone," he murmured, stepping aside with Lila in his arms, her delicate frame trembling against him. "We all made mistakes, honey," he whispered, planting a gentle kiss on her forehead.

Aquarius, sensing Buck's distress, focused his energy and extracted a drop of water from thin air. The shimmering droplet hovered for a moment before absorbing into Buck's skin, providing immediate relief and healing some of his wounds.

However, the mystic armor that had once protected Buck now seemed to have a mind of its own. It stirred from its dormant state, attempting to revive him, but Lin quickly reached out to grab it. The armor, however, resisted her grasp, retracting back into the glove and slipping out of Bucks hand, he screamed in pain as it painfully slid from his hand. It soared into the air. Ivy, determined to help, summoned vines from the nearby trees, extending them upward to ensnare the glove. But with a sudden burst of energy, the glove unleashed a powerful blast that obliterated the vines, leaving Ivy stunned as it flew away into the shadows.

"What the hell is happening ?" Lin asked, her voice trembling with confusion. Buck's expression darkened as he struggled to sit up, revealing the bruises and injuries that marred his body. "It's Dad. He seems to have taken the glove back to him!" he exclaimed, anger bubbling beneath the surface. "I fought him, and he's working with the Vampire Lord. He may have beaten me, but if he stands in my way, I will kill him!" His voice was filled with fury, but as he attempted to clench his fist, a sharp scream of pain escaped his lips, reminding him of his injuries.

"Don't move," Aquarius urged, placing a firm hand on Buck's shoulder. "You are injured. Your solar plexus was almost punched through, and you have a few broken ribs. I'll heal you before morning!" Buck felt a wave of gratitude wash over him as Aquarius held him down, ready to begin the healing process.
