The Villainous Noble Who Kept Rewinding After Death: The Story Somehow Changed When I Committed Suicide

Chapter 118: For You

Lewis, having regrouped with Shuvina after defeating Ryan, immediately relayed our situation to her, and she prepared to join the fight against the Hydra.

“Oh my? Your presence means that Lord Ryan has passed on?”

It was Wool, who had been watching the battle unfold, who spoke to Shuvina as she stepped away from Lewis.

“Yes. I took care of it,” she responded.

“Hehehe. Is that so? I bet that man would be delighted to be slain by his beloved woman. But more importantly, I absolutely want to hear your impressions from when you fought him.”

“Impressions, you say?”

“Yes, yes. The potion Lord Ryan took was concocted by me. This is the first time I’ve ever used it on a person, after all. So, I want detailed information on how well he fought, how much of the monster’s abilities I infused into that potion, and so forth.”

Wool’s unsettling grin was met with a glare of contempt from Shuvina, unable to hide her disdain.

“So, you’re the one who did that to him.”

“No, no. I merely provided him with a potion claiming it would grant him power. It was Lord Ryan’s choice to drink it; I didn’t force him. That was his decision and his outcome.”

“Besides, you must have been troubled by that man’s obsession, no? Wouldn’t you find it easier now that he’s gone?”

“…Indeed, since returning, Ryan’s overwhelming obsession was mentally taxing and quite unpleasant.

But he looked after me since my childhood, playing with me when I had no friends. I will never forgive you for sweet-talking him and leading him to that end.”

With a resolute stance, Shuvina returned Wool’s words, her eyes radiating killing intent as she glared once more.

“Hehe. How delightful. Of course, my primary focus is on my research, but I do look forward to the day I can battle you.”

Wool laughed off Shuvina’s fierce gaze, then vanished like mist, leaving her behind.

“I will definitely kill you.”

Shuvina muttered while staring at the spot where Wool had just been, then refocused her attention on the Hydra, drawing her bow.

In the meantime, Lewis and Fiera worked together to use healing and racial magic on the Hydra, continuously striking its heads.

“It seems it’ll use its racial magic soon,” Lewis remarked.

The Hydra still appeared relaxed, but its magic power was down to about 30%, and its healing was gradually falling short.

“Gurraaah!!!”

Suddenly, the Hydra let out a loud roar, sending a pressure wave that distorted the air towards Lewis and Fiera.

“Don’t come near! Fiera! Create some distance!”

Realizing the Hydra was about to unleash its racial magic, Lewis ordered a retreat, positioning himself where he could see the entire creature.

“Well then, what kind of ability will it use?”

As Lewis watched excitedly, purple smoke suddenly burst forth from the Hydra’s body, enveloping it in a thick, poisonous shroud.

“Isn’t that the same mist that leaked out when the seal was almost broken?”

This mist was the same purple haze they had encountered when checking the Hydra’s sealing site, clearly indicating toxicity.

But this time, the poison was even more potent—corrupting not only the surrounding trees but turning the ground itself into a toxic swamp.

“That’s bad news. I could probably dilute it with magic, but Fiera won’t be able to get close.”

“El.”

As he pondered what to do, Lewis was approached by Fiera, who called out to him.

“…What are you planning?”

Turning to her, he saw her holding several large stones and inexplicably warming up her arms.

“I’m going to throw them.”

“Seriously?”

“Yeah. Just throwing them won’t work, but if I coat them with fighting spirit, it should be fine.”

“Got it.”

Fiera seemed to understand that approaching the poison was dangerous; as a result, she had decided to launch battle spirit-infused stones instead.

“Then, you and Shuvina distract it from a distance. I’ll take the opportunity to chip away at its magic power.”

“Understood.”

Listening to Lewis’s instructions, Fiera moved to the opposite side of Shuvina and immediately began throwing stones.

“Alright then, guess it’s my turn too.”

Lewis layered himself with multiple status recovery spells and cast a barrier spell close to his body.

Then, slowly stepping into the poisonous mist, he confirmed there were no immediate issues.

“Seems like it won’t completely block it, but this much should be fine.”

He felt a slight sensation of poisoning creeping into his body, but it was tolerable, and most importantly, he was enjoying this battle with its time constraints.

“Let’s have fun until one of us dies! Either I will fall first, or you will!”

With a laugh, Lewis infused his Ignito with fire and fighting spirit, launching his assault against the Hydra.

The Hydra retaliated by spitting poison balls and releasing toxic breath to keep Lewis at bay, but he dodged all of it, delivering a fiery slash that cleaved off one of the Hydra’s heads.

However, unlike before—when it flinched from a decapitation—the Hydra now continued its assault, attempting to crush Lewis with the remaining heads.

“Ha ha! Now that’s what I’m talking about!”

Lewis couldn’t help but laugh at the Hydra’s desperate bid to kill him, effortlessly dodging its attacks.

“Ugh!!”

He thought he had evaded everything, but the toxic mist hindered his vision, and he had never expected an attack from the tail, resulting in him blocking the downward swing with his sword.

“Damn it!!”

Despite managing to deflect the heavy strike, the Hydra had no intentions of letting Lewis off the hook, and mercilessly launched a counterattack with its other heads.

“Gah!!”

One of the Hydra’s heads sank its teeth into Lewis’s left arm, shaking him violently in an attempt to slam him into the ground.

However, Lewis’s arm couldn’t withstand the force, and it was torn away, flying into the mist.

“Guh!!”

Sent flying, he collided with a thick tree, spewing blood from deep within.

“Eir!”

Shuvina, who had been nearby, rushed over with a potion, moving in a panic.

“Your arm!! Are you alright?!”

“Ahh ha ha ha ha!!!”

Seeing Lewis in that state, Shuvina was greatly shaken, but he stood up, seemingly delighting in the moment, laughing loudly.

“E, Eir?”

“Ku ku ku! Ah, this is too good! The best!”

As Lewis proclaimed this and started heading back to the Hydra, Shuvina instinctively grabbed his arm.

“Wait! Are you planning to go like that with your wounds?”

“Of course. There’s no way I’m stopping this fun!”

Lewis flashed a grin at Shuvina, and she, taken aback by his innocent, carefree smile, found herself releasing his arm.

“…I guess you really can’t be stopped. Then, I will…”

Determining her resolve silently, Shuvina continued to watch as Lewis cheerfully charged into the fray.
