The War of Extinction

I dived front to dodge the breeze wolf's attack and rolled twice before I stopped and did a swipe with my 'Red blade' at it that is behind me now.

CLANG.. GRRR...

It stopped my blade by biting it and continued biting ferociously. I could see a drop of blood trickling from the tip of its mouth. It is hurt, that is why it is biting my red blade with such anger.

I pulled it back and stood in a defensive stance. The monsters that are angry are difficult to handle as they will ignore their defence and focus only on attacks.

This also give us the chance to kill them easily, but it is for the people with experience, not for the newly awakened. I looked at the wolf with caution which was looking at me with killing intent.

It growled and pounced at me faster than before. I swiped my red blade to meet it in mid air, which it couldn't evade.

SLICE

My blade hit it's face and it penetrated it's skin. I felt a little resistance when it reached it's skull, but it didn't stop there. It sliced it's brain and stopped half way.

The wolf fell on me and I lost balance. I fell on my back with the dead wolf on me. I heard a chuckle and when I turned I saw Dawn looking at me, trying to control her smile.

I felt embarrassed by her reaction and tried to move the wolf's corpse away to stand, but this wolf is heavier than I expected and had to use more strength to push it aside.

Once I got up, I looked behind her before activating my Air Armor and took a defective stance. Looking at me, she also activated the Fire Armor and checked the direction I am looking with caution.

Since it was in Dawn's direction, I was able to see the beauty of the Fire Armor. With it, she looked like an angel who has come from the sky to protect me. I smiled at this thought and again concentrated on my surroundings.

I am sensing multiple monsters, atleast 15 coming towards us. The Air Armor increased my senses and I could see these 15 monsters are breeze wolves. They must be part of this pack.

I felt a little relief when I sensed another group coming towards us from the east. This group is a team of 5 hunters. With 5 of them, we can even the odds and might come out victorious.

Dawn came close to me and stood beside me. I told her about both the groups but she maintained her focus on the wolves.

Within a minute the group of hunters reached us and prepareded themselves for the battle. They are experienced and all are at Mid-F grade except the one who is at Low-E.

With their power, they could kill the wolf pack that is coming at us without much trouble. I saw Dawn talking to one of the hunter who nodded at me. I couldn't see the hunter's face as it was covered by a helmet showing only his eyes.

I nodded back as a gesture of trust. If she knows the hunter, he will help us with his team. He is also the leader with high combat power.

Instead of taking position beside us, the hunters stood in front of us in a defensive formation which made me more cautious. No one will put their lives in danger to help some strangers.

The hunter who spoke with Dawn should be Max, her elder brother from the Hammerand company. He might be on a mission and would have come to assist us. This gave my mind a small relief knowing someone has come to aid us in the battle.

GROWL... GROWL...

The 15 wolves came and stood in front of us growling with anger. Good thing we stored the corpses of the other wolves in our hunter watch storage space, or else they would have been more angrier than they are now.

They may be monsters, but they still fight for their kins and their group just like humans and get angry seeing them getting injured in battle.

I wish this fight will be over soon or the sound will attract more monsters which will create trouble to us. With that in mind I looked at the wolf standing at the front of that pack.

It is a grey color wolf while the rest were brown. This must be their Alpha as it also controlled the pack of wolves who wanted to attack us from the second they noticed us. It is bigger than the rest of the wolves and has a commanding pressure.

The hunters took out their weapons which were all blunt weapons. 3 of them has a single handed maze with a shield while Max and the other hunter has a two handed war heavy hammer.

The Alpha Wolf and the hunters stared at each other for a minute before the Alpha gave it's pack the command to attack us.

GROWL

The wolves lunged at us immediately and attacked the hunters who let 3 wolves to get past their defence line and come directly at me and Dawn.

Dawn moved forward to face the wolves head on. With no other option than to attack I moved forward just behind her thinking 'Well, here it goes.'

Dawn blocked 2 breeze wolves and started her fight and I took on the last one by swinging my red blade on it diagonally which it blocked using it's sharp claws.

CLANG.. CLANG.. CLANG..

It started attacking me with more speed and deadly attacks and pushed me into defence. I have to find a chance to attack it and fast or I will be getting hurt badly.

I focused on it's attack pattern and thanks to my enhanced senses from the air element, I can see the attacks, but not clearly.

I continued defending the wolf's attack for a few minutes before I find an opening in it's defence. Now I just have to wait for a chance to use it and kill it.
