The wicked woman is roasting coffee beans again today.

Chapter 5 part 2

Chapter 5 part 2

“My father was too strict, so I ran away and met her in this neighborhood. She was so cute and lovely, chirping like a little bird. It left a lasting impression on me.”

Listening to the story of their first meeting, Lynet nodded and drank her beer. It seemed like a wanderer’s tale to describe a six-year-old girl they saw briefly when they were young.

After talking about their first love for a while, Blue looked at Lynet cautiously and asked,

“Why did you come here alone to drink?”

“My engagement just broke off.”

“I’m glad to hear that. No, that’s too bad.”

“It’s a relief, actually. That man was having an affair with another woman.”

“Then how about meeting a wonderful man as if to show him off? It might take some time to find a modest man who cooks well, but he might be ready soon.”

As they talked, Lynet’s vision began to blur. When she tried to get up, her body swayed, and Blue quickly supported her. In that moment, he exuded a scent that was warm yet comforting.

Blue turned to call for a carriage, but Lynet, who had grabbed his sleeve, shook her head.

“I don’t want to go home; I only have Katrin on my side.”

“Then I’ll be by your side, Bird. So, go home and rest.”

Sweetly intoxicated by the sound of Blue’s voice, Lynet smirked. That didn’t stop her from saying she didn’t want to go home. When she insisted, Blue had no choice but to take her to her room.

“Here’s some water; drink it and rest. I’ll leave now.”

After setting the table, Blue sat her down on the bed and tried to leave. But Lynet’s hand grabbed his. Maybe it was the alcohol, but she suddenly felt brave. She looked at Blue and spoke boldly.

“Can’t we talk a little longer? It’s too hard for me. Don’t worry. I won’t bite.”

“I don’t mind being bitten, but you must sleep now. I’m feeling intoxicated too, and I can’t take care of you anymore.”

Despite Blue’s polite words, Lynet shook her head. Her obsidian eyes were wet with moisture, and Blue had no choice but to sit down beside her.

As Blue listened to Lynet’s story, he felt dizzy from drinking alcohol he usually didn’t drink. Late into their intoxication, when Lynet’s story came to an end, Blue tried to get up but hesitated and sat back down. When Lynet pulled him, he naturally collapsed onto the bed.

“I should go…”

“I’m here alone. What if a stranger comes in? So, why don’t you rest a bit more here before leaving?”

Intoxicated Lynet, seemingly unaware of what she was saying, lay down next to Blue and took off her hat as well as his. With his black hair and ruby-colored eyes, Blue exuded a neutral charm.

Looking at Blue’s face, Lynet, in her drunken state, poked his lips with her numbed fingers. She felt a warm and rough texture. In response, Blue, who was also intoxicated, weakly grabbed her wrist and gently pushed it away.

“I shouldn’t be doing this. I’ve never done anything like this before.”

“This shouldn’t be happening. It’s my first time experiencing something like this.”

Perhaps due to intoxication, Blue’s face turned as red as his eye color. Seeing him like this, Lynet smiled and said, “Do you trust me? Let’s just hold hands and sleep.”

Dazed, Lynet felt as if the pillow was moving strangely, furrowing her brows as she struggled to open her eyes.

“Where am I? I’m Lynet…”

She stared at the unfamiliar ceiling and frowned. Her head hurt badly. As her eyes searched for water to quench her terrible thirst, she saw something she shouldn’t have.

A man was lying right next to her, and she realized she was holding onto his arm. Startled by this realization, Lynet quickly sat up. The blanket slipped down, revealing her nakedness, and she froze in shock.

Without even thinking about what to do next, Lynet hastily grabbed the clothes strewn messily on the floor and ran out in a daze.

At that moment, the man, who had just been sleeping, smiled slowly.

You said, “Let’s just hold hands and sleep…”

Both of them were intoxicated, and before Lynet could even try to get up again, she collapsed back down.

Then, an ecstatic moment occurred, enough to lose all sense of reason. Last night’s events were surreal yet thrilling. A flush spread across Blue’s face.

“You said you’d take responsibility since it was my first time, but now you’re just leaving.”

“Dum spiro spero”
