Chapter 5: chapter5:Go
They found the police officer in charge of this case. When the officer saw Amy, he said, "Ms. Amy, let's start taking your statement. Tell me in detail everything you know about Cindy." Amy took a deep breath and began to talk about how she met Cindy, Cindy's behavior in the washroom, and later learning about Cindy's death. During the narration, she also mentioned the mysterious person that Jack had seen. The officer was taking notes and asking questions from time to time. When Amy mentioned the mysterious person, the officer's eyes became sharp. "Ms. Amy, this mysterious person is a very important clue. Do you have any other information about him?" Amy shook her head and said, "I only know what Jack told me. Officer, do you think this mysterious person could be the murderer?" The officer said seriously, "We can't be sure at present, but we will investigate based on this clue. Also, regarding the case of Tom's sister Kelly, do you have any clues to offer?" Amy thought for a while and said, "Officer, I only know that the place where Kelly was killed is the same as a case in my memory, but the timeline is earlier. I think there might be a big conspiracy behind this, maybe related to that secret organization." The officer frowned and said, "Ms. Amy, you have mentioned this secret organization before. But so far, we haven't found conclusive evidence to prove that this organization is related to these cases. Can you provide some more specific information?" Amy bit her lip and said, "Officer, I don't know much either. But I think this organization has been carrying out some illegal activities. Maybe in order to achieve some goals, they are changing the timeline or creating some chaos." The officer looked at Amy as if considering the credibility of her words. After a while, he said, "Ms. Amy, we will seriously consider what you said. During the investigation, if we have new questions, we may still come to you for information. You can go back for now."... Amy and Lucy left the police station. Walking on the street, Amy felt as if she was surrounded by a fog. Although she had provided some clues to the police, she knew that there was still a long way to go before the truth was revealed. "Amy, don't be discouraged. I believe the police will find the truth." Lucy comforted. Amy nodded and said, "I know, Lucy. But I always feel that we can't just rely on the police. We also need to do something ourselves." "Do you have any ideas?" Lucy asked. Amy thought for a moment and said, "I want to go to Cindy's house again. Maybe I can find some clues that the police missed." Lucy was a bit hesitant. "Amy, is it okay to do this? After all, the police may have already searched it." Amy said firmly, "I know, but I still want to have a look. There might be something that only I can discover." Looking at Amy's determined eyes, Lucy finally agreed. "Okay, Amy. Then I'll go with you." So, Amy and Lucy walked towards Cindy's house. When they arrived downstairs at Cindy's house, they found a spooky atmosphere pervading the area. Amy's heart couldn't help but beat faster. She knew that this might be a place full of the unknown and danger, but she didn't flinch. They walked up the stairs and came to the door of Cindy's house. Amy took out the spare key that Cindy had given her before and opened the door. The moment the door opened, a stale smell hit them. The room was a bit dim, and the furniture was neatly arranged, and it didn't seem to have been rummaged through. Amy and Lucy walked into the room carefully. Amy began to search every corner carefully. Her eyes fell on Cindy's desk. There was a diary on the desk. Amy opened the diary and found that it recorded some of Cindy's daily trifles and some of her doubts. One entry in the diary caught Amy's attention. It read, "Recently, I always feel that someone is following me. I saw a person in black clothes appear near my house several times. I don't know who he is or what he wants to do. I feel as if I'm in a dangerous situation, but I don't know what to do." Amy showed this entry to Lucy. After reading it, Lucy said, "It seems that Cindy had already noticed that she was being followed. This mysterious person must be related to her death." Amy continued to flip through the diary and found some work - related records later, but there were no special clues. Just as she was about to close the diary, a piece of paper fell out of it. Amy picked it up. There were a string of strange numbers and letters written on it. She frowned, not knowing what it meant. "Lucy, look at this." Amy handed the paper to Lucy. Lucy looked at the paper and shook her head. "I don't know what it means either. Maybe it's something like a password." Amy put the paper carefully into her pocket and said, "Let's look at other places." They searched the room for a while longer and didn't find any more useful clues. Amy was a bit disappointed, but she knew it was also a kind of gain. "Let's go, Lucy." Amy said. When they walked out of Cindy's house, Amy suddenly had a feeling of being watched. She looked back but didn't find anything unusual. "Amy, what's wrong?" Lucy asked. "I feel as if someone is watching us." Amy whispered. Lucy became nervous. "Then let's leave quickly." They quickened their pace and left Cindy's house. Back at home, Amy sat on the sofa, took out that piece of paper, and studied it carefully again. She thought this piece of paper must be hiding some important information, maybe the key to solving all the mysteries. She decided to find someone who knew about passwords to have a look at this piece of paper. She thought of a friend of hers, Ben. He was a computer expert and also very good at cryptography. Amy called Ben and briefly explained the situation. Ben asked her to bring the paper to his home. Amy and Lucy came to Ben's home again. Ben took the paper, looked at it and said, "This looks like encrypted information. I need some time to decrypt it." Amy said, "Ben, can you be faster? I think this information is very important." Ben nodded and said, "I'll be as fast as I can. You two sit here for a while." Amy and Lucy waited anxiously at Ben's home. After about an hour, Ben came out of the room with an excited look on his face. "Amy, I've decrypted it. It's an address, and this address looks very suspicious." Ben said. "What address?" Amy asked eagerly. Ben wrote the address on a piece of paper and handed it to Amy. Looking at the address, Amy felt an urge in her heart. She thought this address might be the hiding place of that mysterious organization. "Lucy, we're going to this address to have a look." Amy said. Lucy was a bit worried. "Amy, it's too dangerous. We don't know what's there." Amy said firmly, "Lucy, we've come this far. We can't back down. I think this address is the key to solving all the mysteries." Looking at Amy's determined eyes, Lucy finally nodded. "Okay, Amy. Then let's go together." So, Amy and Lucy set off towards that address. When they arrived at their destination, they found an abandoned factory. There were overgrown weeds around the factory, and the walls were full of graffiti, looking very spooky. "Amy, this place looks very dangerous. We need to be careful." Lucy whispered. Amy nodded. They walked carefully into the factory. There was a pungent smell in the factory, and countless unknown dangers seemed to be hidden in the darkness. They walked slowly along a corridor. Suddenly, they heard some low - pitched voices. Amy and Lucy looked at each other, and their hearts beat faster instantly. They quietly walked towards the direction of the voices and hid in a corner to peek. They saw several people in black clothes gathered together, discussing something. One of them said, "That Amy and Lucy have begun to get close to us. We can't let them ruin our plan." Another person said, "Then what should we do? Kill them?" The first person shook his head and said, "It's not the time yet. Let's first see what they can discover. If they really threaten our plan, it's not too late to take action." Hearing these words, Amy and Lucy were filled with fear. They knew that they had fallen into a great danger, but they had no way out. "Lucy, we need to find a way to tell the police about their plan." Amy whispered. Lucy nodded. "But how do we get out now?" Just as they were thinking about how to leave, suddenly a mouse ran past their feet, attracting the attention of those people. "Who's there?" One of them shouted loudly.
