TO HEAVEN WITH YOU

Chapter 9: BRIDGING THE DIVIDE

Leo finished hanging the sneakers and returned to the changing room. He looked at Ari, who had settled back into her seat, her cheeks still a rosy pink from their previous exchange. He offered a small smile before heading to the restroom to shower and change for the Rhythm Night event.

Ari sat alone, her mind racing. She checked the time and realized it was getting late. If they followed Leo and Max to Rhythm Night, they'd have to stay out overnight. Knowing their parents wouldn’t allow it, she decided to call her sister.

“Mia, it’s getting late. If we go to Rhythm Night, we’ll have to sleep out,” Ari said, her voice filled with concern.

“I was thinking the same thing,” Mia replied. “It’s better we don’t go anymore. We’ll head home while Leo and Max go to the event.”

Ari agreed and waited patiently for Leo to finish in the restroom. When he emerged, freshly showered and dressed to impress, Ari’s breath caught in her throat. He looked stunning, every inch the captivating dancer she was infatuated with.

Leo walked to the wardrobe near the sink to pack his belongings. Ari couldn’t take her eyes off him. Summoning her courage, she approached him.

“Leo, Mia and I decided not to go to Rhythm Night because of the time. We can’t sleep out,” she explained, her voice steady despite the fluttering in her chest.

“Okay,” Leo replied curtly, focusing on zipping his bag.

Then, in a swift, unexpected move, he lifted Ari up the sink marble making her sit on it and stood between her legs, placing his hands on her laps. His gaze traveled from her face to her lips, making Ari feel both shy and electrified. She bit her lip, her nervousness evident.

Leo’s hands slowly moved around her waist, pulling her closer. The heat between them was palpable, her throat felt dry as he leaned in. When their lips finally met, it was like a dam breaking. They kissed with a hunger that spoke volumes, hands exploring faces, necks, and waists with a tenderness that belied the passion underneath.

Despite Mia and Max’s presence, Ari and Leo were lost in their own world. Mia was trying to engage Max, but he remained detached.

When the kiss ended, Leo helped Ari down from the marble. They walked out of the studio together, Ari’s heart soaring. His public display of affection had left her feeling both claimed and cherished.

Outside, they exchanged goodbyes. Leo hugged Ari, and she gave him a quick kiss on the neck. Mia hugged Max, though with less enthusiasm from his side.

As Ari and Mia headed home, Ari couldn’t help but feel a warm glow. She watched Leo and Max drive off to Rhythm Night, her heart full of anticipation for what the future might hold.
