Y/n's POV

Some time has passed since I even saw Izana. It was so terrifying how quickly he changed from being soft to being brutal once again.

I was so scared that he….

I put my head in my hands to calm myself. Experiencing that was absolutely terrifying. I think he knew that too, which is why he hasn't come back to say anything to me or even let me out. He sends Kakucho to bring necessities like food or whatever else I might need. He always remains polite but distant. At first, I was grateful, because I didn't want to talk to him knowing how much he cared for Izana.

Even though Izana scared me, just like with Mikey, I would never try to break any close ties no matter how much they hurt me. Today though, I needed to ask Kakucho something important.

As soon as he walked into the room with food, I blurted out "Can we talk?"

This seemed to make him hesitate as he placed the food on the counter. He finally stood and faced me, keeping silent to give permission for me to speak.

What can I even ask?

Taking a deep breath, I tried to ask as calmly as possible, "Can you help me to help him?"

It was the only thing I could think of that could do some good, but the question brought a noticeable twitch to Kakucho. "Help him what?"

"It's hard to explain…but I want to know how to help him heal…I know he's hurting, and he uses rage to cover it up. Even though he scared me before, I don't hate him." I held eye contact with Kakucho as I did my best to explain. "Everyone I've met is hurting in some way. I don't think I can fix it, but I want to help them heal a little easier." I let the end of my request leave my lips in a whisper.

I mean that will all of my heart. I want to hate so many. But….how could I help make anything better if I try to destroy others because they tried to destroy me, too?

I know something big is coming, but I need to keep trying.

Kakucho's POV

He couldn't believe it.

She wants to help Izana?

This is everything I've been hoping for! I can't give her anything that he wouldn't want me to, but I can give hints…

"He just needs a home he can belong to." With that, he turned and made his way toward the door. As soon as he opened it to leave, he was halted by the voice of Y/n.

"Can I please see him?"

Kakucho smiled to himself.

She really is something special. I can see now…why….he loves her….
