Toman's Black Cat

Mikey's POV

After knowing that Takemitchy could leap through time, he had to ask what he had seen. A little time had passed and he wanted to know. He didn't understand why he needed to know, but he asked anyway.

As he listened to his story from beginning to end, he noticed Takemitchy would say Y/n's name every now and then, but hesitate and skip over it.

"Is her story worse than yours?" Mikey spoke the words calmly, but it was the last thing he was feeling. His blood ran cold when Takemitchy looked at him with more tears.

"Tell me."

He stayed stone faced the whole time. He heard how she died each time in order to come back. He clenched his fists so hard that blood seeped through as Takemitchy told him he shot her point blank once.

It didn't matter. Not really. It's all his fault anyway, so he basically killed her each time.

Each time.

When he completed what he needed for Takemitchy, he called Y/n to meet with her.

I know what I need to do.

Y/n's POV

I ran out to meet with Mikey, hoping to be able to check on him as well. The spot he wanted to meet was where I first told him I loved him. The memory came with mixed feelings, but I desperately wanted to keep it mostly positive.

I still want to encourage him.

I saw him waiting for me and couldn't help but smile. As I got close to him, I could see he wasn't smiling. The sight made my heart hurt, but when I reached out to hug him, he pushed me away. The sudden force shocked me, almost knocking me completely over. I stood mouth agape as he continued to stare coldly at me.

Mikey's POV

The only way to keep her safe is to hurt her now. If I don't, she'll stay by my side and get killed again.

"Don't touch me."

I need you to touch me, but I can't let you anymore.

"I need you to stop following me around like a lost dog."

That's a lie.

"It was fun while it lasted, but I can have any whore I want."

I don't want anyone but you.

"Putting that into consideration, I've decided to shop around."

I'll never want anyone else.

He looked away like he could care less but it was only because he couldn't look her in the eye when he says all of this.

"So do us all a favor and stop sluttin around me and my gang, okay?"

He didn't think that was her at all. He thought she was going to try to convince him to keep her with him when he didn't hear her speak or look away.

He had to make sure she knew he meant it, but when he turned toward her, her eyes were empty.

The smile she came here with was gone. She didn't say anything for a long time. He couldn't bare this pain over all the others, but he had to, right?

"'Jiro….." The remaining bits of his heart broke as his name, his real name, fell from her trembling lips as she finally met his eyes. Although her eyes were filled with tears, she suddenly bowed to him.

Y/n's POV

I knew he couldn't mean it to a point. But the words rang in my very soul like razer blades.

If that's what he thought to say, it has to be based at least a little in reality….right? Every lie has some truth weaved throughout it…right?

I bowed to him even as my heart shattered once again. "I'm sorry for letting you down. It was never my intention to shame you by appearing…easy…" I stood up to look him in the eyes and did my best to smile. "It's okay, I'm not mad. I get it." I looked down at my feet once again. "I get it. So, I promise I'll leave you and your family alone now."
