Transcending Realities: A Journey to Reclaim Home

Chapter 157: Whole story

"Well, it's just that your space-time jutsu is pretty impressive," I said, stretching my arms as we walked. "It's not something you see every day, especially from someone who isn't constantly in battle. I was wondering if you've ever thought about refining it more or using it for combat?"

Mabui tilted her head, considering my words. "My Heavenly Transfer Technique isn't exactly built for combat," she explained. "It's designed for transporting objects at high speed without damage. Using it on living beings is dangerous unless they have a strong body capable of withstanding the stress."

"Yeah, but that's what makes it unique," I said, stopping to look at her. "If you could adapt it—make it more flexible—you'd have something almost as versatile as Flying Raijin. Imagine using it not just for logistics but to outmaneuver enemies or even strike without being seen."

Mabui blinked, seemingly caught off guard by the idea. "I've never thought about it that way," she admitted. "It's always been a tool for support, not direct engagement. But what you're saying... it could change its entire purpose."

"Exactly," I said with a grin. "You've got the talent for it. Why not push it further? You never know when having an ace like that up your sleeve could save your life—or someone else's."

Mabui's gaze softened, and a small smile appeared on her lips. "You're full of surprises, Naruto," she said. "Thank you. I'll think about it."

"Good," I said, continuing forward. "Just make sure when you perfect it, you give me credit for the idea. Maybe name it after me or something."

She laughed lightly. "Don't push your luck."

We reached the main hall of the summit, and I could already feel the weight of Tsunade's glare from somewhere inside. Turning to Mabui, I gave her a thumbs-up. "Alright, time for me to face the music. Don't forget what we talked about, okay?"

"I won't," she replied, her tone sincere. "And... thank you again, Naruto."

With that, I stepped into the hall, bracing myself for the storm that was sure to come.

With a deep breath, I returned to our room, fully bracing myself for what was about to happen next.

The moment I opened the door, I was greeted not by words but by a fist flying toward my face at an incredible speed.

Instinctively, I activated Flying Raijin and teleported out of harm's way.

Boom! Tsuna's punch connected with the outside wall instead, creating a massive hole and sending debris flying everywhere.

"Naruto!" she shouted angrily, her voice echoing through the hallway.

I reappeared a safe distance away, scratching the back of my head. "Hey, Tsuna, maybe we should talk this out instead of destroying the entire building?" I said with a nervous grin, knowing full well how furious she was.

Tsuna turned toward me, her face a mix of fury and exasperation. "Talk it out? Talk it out?" she repeated, her voice rising with each word. "You disappear without a word, come back saying you went on a date, and then casually try to brush it off? Do you even realize how irresponsible you're being?"

I held up my hands in mock surrender, trying to ease the tension. "Okay, okay, I get it. But you have to admit, it wasn't exactly a date. I was just helping Mabui check on her friends. It was important, and you know I wouldn't leave unless it was something that mattered."

She crossed her arms, glaring at me. "Important or not, you could've at least informed me instead of running off like some reckless kid. You're supposed to be setting an example now, Naruto."

Shizune, who had been quietly observing from the corner, sighed. "Naruto, you really should learn to communicate better. You're giving Tsunade more gray hairs."

"Hey, I don't see any gray hairs!" I protested, pointing at Tsuna.

"Because I'll kill you before they show up if you keep this up," Tsunade snapped.

I sighed, realizing I wasn't going to win this argument. "Alright, I'm sorry," I said, bowing my head slightly. "Next time, I'll let you know before I leave, okay?"

Tsuna's expression softened a little, though she still looked annoyed. "You'd better. You may have incredible power, Naruto, but even you can't do everything alone. And you're no use to anyone if you keep running off and getting yourself into trouble."

I smiled sheepishly. "Got it, Tsuna. No more running off without telling you first."

She sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. "Fine. But you're fixing the wall you just made me punch through."

"Wait, I didn't punch the wall—"

Her glare silenced me immediately.

"Right. I'll fix it," I said quickly, mentally making a note to enlist a clone for the job.

"Good," she said, finally sitting down and taking a sip of sake. "Now, tell me exactly what happened with Mabui. And don't leave out a single detail, or you're going through that wall next."

Shizune stifled a laugh as I sat down, realizing I wasn't off the hook just yet. "Alright, here's the whole story..."

With a sigh, I decided there was no point in avoiding the inevitable. I narrated the entire story to Tsuna and Shizune—how Samui and her team had entered the Land of Fire, got caught by the villagers and the Uchiha guards, and how I helped Mabui reunite with them.

I made sure to emphasize the part where I ensured their safety and didn't harm anyone. "See? I was just helping out. Nothing shady, nothing flirtatious—just being the hero of the day," I concluded, hoping it would pacify Tsuna's fury.

Tsuna crossed her arms, glaring at me. "You expect me to believe you teleported back and forth just to 'help out' without any ulterior motives?"

Shizune, standing nearby, looked more amused than angry. "Well, at least no one got hurt," she said, trying to diffuse the situation.

"I'm telling the truth!" I protested. "If I wanted to flirt, I wouldn't have brought Mabui straight to them. I'd have kept the mystery alive."

Tsuna sighed heavily but seemed to calm down, though her sharp glare remained. "Fine, I'll let this slide—for now. But next time, Naruto, don't think you can avoid punishment by using Flying Raijin!"

"Noted," I said with a grin, relieved that I wasn't going to get pummeled. At least, not this time.

Tsuna leaned back in her chair, her fingers tapping rhythmically on the table as she mulled over my explanation. "Alright, Naruto," she said at last, her tone still stern, "I'll give you credit for handling the situation without turning it into an international incident. But you need to start acting more like a leader. You can't just keep running around like a reckless teenager."

"Understood, Tsuna," I replied, trying my best to sound sincere. "I'll do better next time. Promise."

Her gaze softened slightly, though she still seemed annoyed. "Good. Now get out of my sight before I change my mind and make you fix that wall without clones."

Shizune chuckled as I bolted toward the door. "Don't worry, Tsunade. I'll make sure he behaves—eventually."

"Hey, I always behave!" I called over my shoulder, earning a snort from both of them.

As I stepped out into the hallway, I couldn't help but grin. Sure, I got scolded, but at least Tsuna didn't kill me. And, well... I'd do it all again if it meant helping a friend.

Maybe being a leader wasn't so bad after all.
