Chapter 8: 8- Hulk
Diving into the fight, Sam immediatly gave out commands. 'Save the civilians and evacuate the area.'
Appearing in front of one of the mutated Hulks, he shifted his right arm into a massive, round concussion rifle and blasted the thing point blank, sending him flying back into a nearby wall and getting implanted there. Ducking under some bullet fire, Sam blasted another in the face as well.
Turning to the military guys who were STILL FIRING AT HIM, he screamed at the top of his...speakers. "HEY! I'm trying to help you guys, stop SHOOTING ME!"
The soldiers froze, both in fear, and just general shock that a metal human was screaming at them to stop shooting. But just as they were about to unfreeze, an Aston Martin went flying by, bounced into the air, transformed into a giant humanoid, and proceeded to piledrive a nearby mutated.
"...back up...backupbackupbackupbackupbaCKUPBACKUPBACKUP!" One of them yelled at the top of his lungs, prompting the others to take the wheel and peal out of there with haste.
Chuckling at their reaction, Sam blasted off to the next area, where several more mutated were thrashing about. "Why are there so many of these guys?"
Jarvis answered his rhetorical question for him. "It seems that all of these people have bought a specific type of soda drink recently, and that may be the cause of their mutations."
He nodded, incapacitated several more in the meantime. "Thanks Jarvis, I need you and Tony to put out a warning about that drink. Just post it to his Twitter or somethin- Woah!"
Sam slid under a while swing from a much bigger monster. Getting a better view once he had more space, he could see that it was Abomination. He was absolutely bulked out. He had gray skin and spikes running down his arms, shoulders and his back.
"I'm gonna crush you, bug!" Abom grinned viciously.
"Not a bug." Sam raised a finger, floating in the air with a set of boosters. Blasting forward, Sam transformed his hands to have a sword and a sheild each.
Taking the brunt impact of one of Abomination's fists, the surface of the shield clicked inwards, a small pop was heard as a shock wave was sent outwards from the edges of it. Sam, knowing the incredible strength of anything Hulk related, created the shield to use internal air pressure to relieve the shield of the brunt of the force, redirecting it outwards.
It was meant to imitate vibranium in that way, and it worked as the shield and Sam himself took minimal damage from the attack. Tilting the shield outwards, he slipped under the attack and thrust his sword up and into Abomination's side.
Staggering from the force, Abom was unable to defend himself as a green fist the size of his head slammed into... well his head, and sent him flying, luckily for him taking the blade out of his lung along the way.
Looking to the side Sam saw the Hulk standing there, huffing and puffing while his wounds recovered, staring holes into the crater he had sent Abom into. Noticing the little metal man next to him, he temporarily turned his way.
"Little metal man, you want fight too?" The Hulk asked, surprising Sam with his intelligence.
Sam, trying not to be seen as an enemy, retracted his sword and raised his hands. "No buddy, I'm trying to stop the spike ball over there in the crater. That was a good hit by the way."
Hulk grinned at the compliment, but noticed Abom climbing out of the hole he was in and growling. "Well, what are you waiting for? Go clobber him!"
"Don't order Hulk. Hulk does, what HULK WANTS!" And apparently, Hulk wanted to clobbered him anyway, so he sped off to take Abom's head off.
Shaking his head amazingly at the green lovable yet destructive monster that is Hulk, Sam reprioritized to going around helping civilians. Finding one on his radar through one of Arachnid's drones, Sam slowly dug his way through the rubble. Finding a hand, Sam cleared the nearby concrete to find a young man struggling to breathe.
A quick scan told him that he had multiple broken ribs and he had breathed in too much dust. Proping him up, Sam injected him with antibiotics before handing him off to Arachnid, who flew him off to the nearest emergency responder.
Sighing, Sam moved onto the next area, where he found a man in a red and blue costume trading slugs with several of the mutated civilians. Swooping in, he helped who he assumed to be the one and only Spider Man, taking much of the pressure off of him by running one of them into a nearby wall and knocking them out.
"Woah! You here to fight me too Tincan?" He quipped, crawling all over one if them and wrapping them up in a cocoon.
Sam laughed at him, slamming another mutant to the ground. "Nah, I'm here to clean up the government's mess. You doin the same, Spidey?"
Apparently, Sam was the first one to get it right because Spiderman stared jumping with joy. "Omg finally! You're the first person not to call me a bug!"
Sam tilted his head. "But you're an arachnid?"
"Exactly!"
Sam laughed again, shaking his head. "I'll see you around Spidey, I've got a massive green child with anger management problems to look after."
Spidey went to ask what he meant, bit by the time that he opened his mouth, Sam had already blasted up up and away. "...Well that happened."
Suddenly his spider sense went off, prompting him to duck under a pus-covered fist to avoid a bruised back in the morning. "Man, can't I catch a break?!"
