Transmigrated And Became An Omega [ABO]

Chapter 11: 11

As dinner was coming to an end, Wu Xuan hurried in.

She took the little girl from Shi Yue's arms and, with lingering fear, comforted her, pressing their cheeks together, "Baby, Mommy was so worried about you."

The little girl obediently let herself be held for a while before reaching out to Shi Yue, "Auntie, my meat."

Shi Yue smiled and fed her the last bite of shrimp, carefully wiping away the food residue from the corner of her mouth.

Only then did Wu Xuan turn her attention to the two of them, apologizing with deep guilt, "I'm really sorry, Xiaoya has caused you so much trouble."

"It's alright." Shi Yue patted the little girl's braid, "We had a great time with her."

Wu Xuan still blushed.

Since she needed to take the child home to rest, she left her personal contact information, promising to thank them properly later, and then left the restaurant with the little girl.

Shi Yue held the personal card, lost in thought, almost missing Leng Yanmi calling her from ahead.

It wasn't until Leng Yanmi walked up to her that she snapped back to reality, sweetly curling her lips, "Let's go."

Leng Yanmi walked forward expressionlessly, not showing whether she was unhappy or not.

Shi Yue jogged a couple of steps to walk beside her, sighing dramatically, "I was so busy with Xiaoya this afternoon that I didn't have a proper chat with you, Auntie."

"Oh?" Leng Yanmi bent down to sit in the car, "Wasn't earning Wu Xuan's gratitude the biggest gain for you on this trip?"

Shi Yue widened her eyes slightly, looking innocent and a little aggrieved at her.

Shi Yue wasn't surprised that Leng Yanmi knew her intentions—they were both smart people, and many things didn't need to be said explicitly. But she was still willing to act the part of a pure Omega in front of Leng Yanmi, hoping to stir even a tiny bit of pity in her.

Leng Yanmi simply turned her head and started the car without saying a word.

That night, after Shi Yue finished her bath, she had just picked up her phone when she received a video call from Wu Xuan.

A little surprised, she answered, only to see the adorable face of Wu Miuya on the other side. The little girl pouted, tugging at her beautiful braids, "Auntie, Mommy wants to take my braids out."

The braids Shi Yue had woven for her were very intricate and beautiful, and the little girl was reluctant to part with them.

"Sorry, Miss Shi," Wu Xuan's voice came from behind the little girl, "She insisted on talking to you."

"It's fine." Shi Yue smiled, offering, "It's not a big deal to take them out now. I didn't have better tools at the time, but next time we meet, Auntie will make you even prettier braids, okay?"

The little girl nodded obediently, then quickly asked, "Next time... when will that be?"

Shi Yue comforted her with a few words and said, "Why don't you give the phone to your mom, and I'll arrange a time with her."

"Okay."

Wu Xuan took the phone, looking apologetic, "I'm really sorry to trouble you, Miss Shi."

Shi Yue smiled, "Isn't it the weekend these two days? Does Xiaoya have to go to class on weekends too?"

"Yes." Wu Xuan sighed helplessly, "I'm so busy that I found a nursery that takes children over the weekend. But the driver is on leave these two days, so I plan to take her with me tomorrow."

She then suggested, "Would you be willing to come to the art exhibition and play with her for a day? Xiaoya seems to really like you."

"Sure," Shi Yue agreed happily, "I'm a student and don't have classes on weekends. Visiting your art exhibition would be a great way to enhance my aesthetic sense."

Wu Xuan nodded, "You're welcome to come."

What followed went more smoothly than Shi Yue had anticipated. With Wu Miuya as a connection, she easily built a relationship with Wu Xuan.

Recently, Wu Xuan had been traveling between cities for her art exhibition, and she was already worried about Xiaoya. With Shi Yue helping to take care of the little girl, she felt a lot less burdened. So one day, when Shi Yue mentioned the issue of Shi Nuo's shares, Wu Xuan agreed almost without hesitation and immediately arranged for the proxy rights to be transferred to Shi Yue.

With this, Shi Yue now controlled more than fifty percent of the shares of Shi Nuo Fashion Company.

As the end of the month approached, the company's shareholders' meeting was imminent. Even though Shi Yue was confident that she held the upper hand, she couldn't help but feel a bit anxious—she had never experienced anything like this in her life before.

That night, she was so anxious that she couldn't sleep, tossing and turning in bed. Finally, she gave up trying to force herself to sleep and got up to check her phone.

To her surprise, at one o'clock in the morning, Leng Yanmi had posted a status update. The picture was of her proud Ragdoll cat and a whole sky full of stars outside the window.

Cats are nocturnal animals, so it was normal for the cat to be active at this hour. But Shi Yue wondered why Leng Yanmi was also staying up late with the little thing.

She tentatively sent a greeting to her and was surprised to receive an immediate reply from Leng Yanmi.

[Still not asleep?]

Shi Yue typed out several different responses before finally choosing to tell the truth: [I'm going to the company's shareholders' meeting tomorrow to stage a coup, and I'm a bit uneasy.]

It wasn't that Shi Yue underestimated herself. Shi Wen was an old fox who had lived for decades and had been in control of Shi Nuo for so long; he was bound to have his foundations. Although she had prepared herself, she couldn't predict how fierce his counterattack would be.

If Shi Wen decided to go down with her, it wasn't the outcome Shi Yue wanted to see.

For a full ten minutes, there was no reply from Leng Yanmi.

Shi Yue watched short videos for a while and was just about to lie down and stare at the ceiling again when a video call request popped up from Leng Yanmi.

She hesitated for two seconds before answering, only to see Leng Yanmi still wearing formal clothes, sitting in front of a laptop. She wore a pair of black-rimmed glasses with blue light protection, which made her look less glamorous than usual, but her focused gaze still captivated Shi Yue.

She spoke directly to the point, "You want to bring down Shi Wen and become the CEO of Shi Nuo yourself?"

"I'm afraid I don't have the energy for that," Shi Yue shrugged, "but I've already found a suitable candidate."

Thanks to having read the whole novel, Shi Yue knew that there was actually a truly talented vice president in Shi Nuo. Over the years, he had been suppressed by Shi Wen, and most of his proposed plans had not been implemented. If the story followed the original plot, he would soon become completely disappointed in Shi Nuo and choose to leave the company.

In the novel, he later chose to start his own business, and after several years of setbacks, he finally reestablished himself in the industry.

"Taking down Shi Wen won't be easy." Leng Yanmi's hands were typing away on the keyboard as if browsing through some important documents, "You must have already acquired the shares in Wu Xuan's hands, but I can tell you, it's not enough."

Shi Yue was a bit surprised.

She was actually pleased but couldn't help asking, "How does Auntie know I got the proxy rights to Wu Xuan's shares?"

"Because you're Shi Yue." Leng Yanmi glanced at the camera, her tone as natural as stating a fact.

If there were levels to being moved, Shi Yue felt that on this inevitable night, at this moment, her instant surge of feelings for Leng Yanmi had reached its peak.

It was a strong hum from deep within her soul, feeling completely acknowledged.
