Transmigrating as an Extra Third-Rate Villain

Chapter 314:Quake [3]

As the sound of Ren's high-pitched scream echoed throughout the vault, Raven suddenly stood up, thankfully having recognized his boss.

But as he stared at the figure in front of him, who was yet to make a move, Raven hesitated.

Fight?

That wasn't in his contract.

He was a company manager.

And so, like amazing company managers, Raven delegated the job to one of his subordinates.

If the man wasn't captured, the blame would fall on Zeng, but if it succeeded, Raven could claim partial credit for reacting fast and telling Zeng what to do.

Of course, what he didn't know is that Ren knew Raven's mind far better than Raevn actually knew it himself.

After all, Ren had read about Raven's growth from a small teenager to an adult who was the master of the infamous black market.

So, without any hesitation whatsoever, Raven grabbed Zeng, who was still sitting in the corner and staring at the battle around them.

Pulling him upwards by the collar, Raven pointed at the man, who was simply staring up at the ceiling with a confused expression.

"You heard the boss...get him, Zeng!"

Getting up and freeing himself from Raven's grasp, Zeng raised his hand, imitating a solder saluting, and stared at his boss on the ceiling.

But, hesitating as he glanced down at the man, who was trapped in the barricade of shelves with them, Zeng said.

"Doesn't boss...seem in trouble?" Discover more content at empire

There were about three sword slashes, all colored light and divine blue, hurling at his figure.

Seven black tentacles, now as long as half the length of the massive vault, aimed at him, ready to impale his body.

Added onto that, the were two figures riding atop a spear with their weapons ready as they were seconds away from approaching Ren's frozen body.

And, finally, a couple of spells, one fiery flame in particular, were waiting below his body, ready to burn him if he tried to dodge by falling onto the floor.

He was surrounded by all sides.

It was like a small ant versus the whole United States military and a couple of atomic bombs.

Shifting his gaze away from the unknown man and looking up at Ren's trapped figure, Raven smiled before replying.

"That's all part of his plan, Zeng. Trust me, he does this thing where he acts weak, and when you don't expect it, he comes out as a powerhouse. I bet the other guys will be on their asses crying within a couple of minutes."

Though Raven's words were about as far from the true answer as the sun from Neptune, it was truly what he believed.

After all, it was exactly what had happened to him!

When Raven was a small and fraudulent sword merchant back in the black market, Ren had pretended to be weak and stupid to buy a sword.

Then, just when Raven thought he was out of the clear and up a load of money, the situation was flipped, as Ren had known all along.

The class is strong, pretending to be a weak act.

That's exactly what Raven always thought Ren was always doing.

Nodding his head and understanding Raven's point, Zeng smiled and said.

"He's not only good at fight...but acting too. That terrified expression looks too real!"

Meanwhile, Ren blankly stared at his two teammates, who were simply standing still and staring back at him.

"...I need a team to rebuild if I survive this shit."

Thankfully, though, during their conversation, the unknown figure had yet to make his move.

It seemed that he had no way out of the trap that Raven and Zeng had unknowingly created.

Making Ren somewhat proud, Zeng finally rushed forward at the unknown figure, barely managing not to slip due to all the water on the ground.

Then, like a football player making a tackle on a wide receiver, Zeng leaped forward head-first and grabbed onto the figure's stomach.

As Zeng fell, the figure fell as well, unable to maintain his balance under the pressure of Zeng's brutal tackle.

Only after seeing the unknown figure fall to the ground did Ren finally stop glancing downwards and look up.

And...he couldn't even describe what he was seeing.

Tens of different vibrant colors rushed towards him like he was watching a fireworks festival back on Earth.

Of course, these fireworks weren't thousands of meters away from him like a show, but only a few feet away from hitting him.

Petrified, Ren immediately raised his hand to his right eye, attempting to activate his time-stopping ability.

But before he did that, he looked around, trying to find a way to dodge so he could maximize the short amount of time he had during his time-stopping ability.

Yet...there was nothing; everything was blocked off.

If he had time-stopped now, he would only have delayed the inevitable.

For once, there was no way out.

Even if he screamed and revealed himself to be Ren, a student at the academy like them, the attacks would reach and pierce him before his voice was even heard.

"w-what am I supposed to do!?"

Ren's hoarse and desperate voice came out, but due to the noise generated by the hundreds of projectiles and people flying at him, it was barely heard.

He could feel it...the cold and sharpness of the pitch-black tentacles surging at him...the purifying ability and sternness from the light-blue slashes.

This wasn't how it was supposed to go...

Though it should have been common sense since it was him, one person, against the entire main cast and two recruiters, around nine people, Ren was still... surprised.

It wasn't because of the sheer amount of power or attacks generated at him.

It was because...he had miscalculated the timing.

His dash cooldown... was supposed to be done.

Ren's plan for this situation was to dash to the ground, tank the fire spell below, and escape underground.

Yet, as he desperately told his body to activate the ability, nothing happened.
