[TS] Obsessed Gamer: The Ultimate Return

Chapter 10

The thrill was short-lived, as unpleasant news soon reached my ears.

– Our team has been attacked!

Orianna was solo-killed by Cassiopeia.

Of course, considering the matchup, Cassiopeia had the upper hand, but getting solo-killed is a whole other ball game.

This meant that Cassiopeia had utterly outplayed Orianna in the lane.

‘Hmm.’

Is it really a 90% win-rate duo? They’ve been wrecking Top and Jungle, yet Mid seems to be hanging on.

In Legends of League, the Mid lane holds the strongest influence.

Sure, there are times when the Jungle meta shifts, but that only means Mid’s influence decreases relatively; strictly speaking, Mid has always been the most crucial lane in the history of Legends of League.

‘This makes it a bit tricky to counter-jungle.’

Just a moment ago, I was ready to control all four buffs, but now I have to change up my approach too.

Junglers are always forced to make decisions.

Should I keep farming, go for a gank, if I have control, should I counter-jungle, secure objectives, or just clear the camps?

In essence, I’ve lost one option because of our Mid laner’s loss of control.

But as every action has an equal and opposite reaction, the loss of our Mid laner’s control isn’t all bad.

Losing control means the enemy is pushing up the lane, and that makes them vulnerable to ganks.

‘Let’s test their reaction.’

I marked the enemy Top.

This would force the already struggling enemy Top to play more cautiously, which would translate into control over the Rift Herald.

No matter how much control Mid has, with Top being pushed and our Jungle at level 1, there’s no way anyone would dare to contest the Herald.

‘Of course.’

In regular games, fighting over the top Herald often leads to the victory or loss of the game.

However, that’s only true in standard games, and this one is basically halfway ruined thanks to the invade.

Even though I headed straight for the top Herald, the enemy Cassiopeia didn’t react at all.

In fact, she might’ve felt pressured that I would go for a gank.

As I secured the top Herald, I hit level 3.

Normally, I shouldn’t have hit level 3 yet, but I got plenty of kill experience.

I then headed straight for the enemy Blue to check Rek’Sai’s movements.

‘There’s a Blue.’

This meant Rek’Sai had chosen a path avoiding me instead of trying to secure his Blue after dying.

Now I had to make another choice.

Should I quietly take the enemy Blue and jungle camps before heading for a Top dive to grab the mark?

Or should I go home, grab the bottom Herald, and totally ruin Rek’Sai?

In the past, I would’ve chosen one of those options.

But now, my gameplay is in a so-called “flow state.”

I had no reason to avoid fights, so a new option I never had before appeared.

‘I’ll catch Mid.’

Orianna just revived.

She used her teleport to return to lane after the invade, so she has none left.

She can’t possibly respond.

But that’s alright.

The enemy Cassiopeia, having just secured a solo kill, overextended trying to push the lane and ran out of mana.

She had already burned all her spells.

So right now, Cassiopeia was nothing more than a fast-moving snake.

– Whoosh!

Just as the poison zone was about to be laid before me, I boldly used the Flash I had saved up for this exact moment, without even using it during the invade.

Cassiopeia tried to dash to escape after realizing her folly, but the Red slow and my E skill slowed her down, making the distance between us too small.

– Enemy eliminated!

– On a rampage!

– Took down!

Since Orianna would mostly return to lane, I didn’t stop there and headed straight for the bottom jungle.

[Rek’Sai – Level 2]

Sure enough, as I approached the river, Rek’Sai, who had just revived, was trying to take the Herald.

If Rek’Sai was level 3, targeting Cassiopeia would be a risky decision, but given how far behind he was, he had only eaten one camp.

“Wow.”

How daring, trying to take the Herald at level 2…

“Herald acquired.”

The Herald’s health was down to about 600.

Another smite battle ensued.

This time it was level 3 against level 2.

For Rek’Sai, this was an even worse scenario than before.

– Ping!

And as expected, I won that smite fight too.

With my victory in the smite fight, I gained a level.

[Kindred – Level 4]

[Rek’Sai – Level 2]

And the outcome of the following fight was already sealed.

– Enemy eliminated!

– Going wild!

Now, I could do whatever I wanted.

I could grab the Dragon right in front of me or go back to clean up my jungle on the Blue side.

Most players would typically be satisfied here and secure the Dragon or the camps in their blue side jungle.

But I pressed recall.

[2,144 Gold]

I had amassed quite a bit of gold and wanted to show Rek’Sai, who dared not dodge, a taste of hell.

‘Rek’Sai is level 2. She has 4 CS. That means she only ate a few Raptors.’

In other words, the enemy jungle camp situation shows that the upper jungle is all alive while the lower jungle has only one camp left.

Rek’Sai must know this by now.

‘And it’s only going to get easier.’

After buying tier 2 boots and some core items at home, I headed straight for the enemy Blue jungle.

The reason I bought boots first was because kiting was essential when fighting Rek’Sai, but above all, I wanted to enter the enemy jungle as quickly as possible.

As I crossed into the river, the enemy Cassiopeia’s movements changed.

She moved early to cover Rek’Sai.

‘Must be a ward.’

Of course, it could be a bluff, so I moved while turning on my lens.

It was indeed a ward.

‘Then, back in reverse….’

I pinged vigorously on Cassiopeia, and our Orianna began to trap her.

‘Peekaboo.’

Cassiopeia, who was moving to cover Rek’Sai, was quickly surrounded by Orianna and me.

Rek’Sai showed up late, but there was nothing a level 2 Rek’Sai could do in this situation.

– Enemy eliminated!

– Unstoppable!

As Cassiopeia was taken down in an instant, Rek’Sai attempted to flee, but of course, that was futile.

– Enemy eliminated!

– Ruler of the battlefield!

Having eaten up the enemy mid jungle, I immediately pinged the Top lane.

I marked the Top lane and didn’t head there for a reason.

The mark I placed on the Top lane would be naturally collected once I took out the enemy Mid.

[MAX WooChan (Nyar): Please save me]

Shortly after, the enemy Top, anticipating his death, typed in chat.

It was practically a chat that came out when the game was already lost.

[Jungler’s Slave (Lee Sin): I’m feeling pretty bad, give it your all!]

[MAX WooChan (Nyar): I’m feeling pretty bad!]

[Jungler’s Slave (Lee Sin): Not enough effort!]

[MAX WooChan (Nyar): ]

Barely finishing his sentence, Orianna and I arrived at the Top lane and dove seamlessly.

Lee Sin took the tower aggro first, making for a very clean dive.

– Enemy eliminated!

[yytvxxiaojin (Rek’Sai): Open]

Finally, Rek’Sai seemed to have lost it and declared “open.”

Even though it was far too early to declare the game over, especially with the Herald still not on the clock, the outcome had already been decided.

“Too easy.”

Even though the enemy Bot lane, who still hadn’t accepted defeat, tried to stop us, they couldn’t hold back the five of us, who were now accompanied by the Herald.

[Victory]

Having secured a relatively easy win, I immediately jumped back into the queue without taking a break.

‘Let’s check out the community in the meantime.’

Due to the nature of the high-rank queue times, it was one of my main activities to browse the community while waiting.

While perusing the community, a strange post popped up in real-time.

– Breaking News) Red Cup runner-up duo, 35 consecutive wins finally ended.
