Tyrant Emperor

Chapter 8: Legend of Pimodial Anthropos (1)

Leon silently returned home. Throughout the journey, he looked through the window with deep thoughts.

The moment he entered the house, there was his mother and father silently sitting on the high rising chairs.

The atmosphere was silent but just staying there Leon felt a sense of oppression that made it difficult to breathe.

"I never noticed it but my father and mother also have a similar energy surrounding that the King had." Leon thought in his heart quietly sizing them up.

They were in a sense quite similar to the yellow bubble he was able to acquire the power of.

"Leon, are you sure about going to the Academy?" She lightly spoke.

"Yes, I am sure Mother, it is my choice to go and I will follow through with it."

"But you are just a child…," his mother wanted to speak further but quickly shook her head, "You can go."

"Really?" Leon's face brightened.

"Yes."

Soon, Leon returned to his room. He walked up to his bed and took out a book from under it.

This book was dusty and had a large text written over it in bold letters.

"Legend of Primordial Anthropos (I)"

He turned the pages of the book till the sun left over the horizon and the moon graced him, shining like the threadbread under the sky from the window.

With the sound of pages flipping, Leon closed his book and checked his body. Although he did know that a weird gem was inside his body, he couldn't do anything about it for now and neither could he control it.

So, Leon soon fell asleep, tired and weary leaving a thought resounding in his mind:

"This world is too mysterious."

The next day, it was time for his Academy. He woke up in the morning, brushed his teeth, made his bed, then went outside to stretch his body. That gem-like substance was still inside him, and Leon could feel a strange energy being gradually accumulated.

"Leon, it's time for your first day of school! Get ready!" his mother called out from inside the house.

Leon casually tiptoed his way back into his room through the window, a small smile gracing his lips.

Soon, he was ready, wearing a white shirt, black tailored pants, and a black blazer with a sword embroidered on his chest. This was a luxury beyond luxury for people here; especially tailored clothing, only the royalty or rich person tied to the king were truly able to have it tailor made.

As he went outside, slowly walking along the unkempt road, an annoying voice rang from a distance behind him. Leon didn't stop, and the boy could only chase him endlessly while barely catching up, his breathing already ragged.

"How could you walk so fast? I thought I was older than you!" Marcus exclaimed, sprinting to keep up, his grin wide enough to show off his gleaming teeth. "By the way, I'm enrolling at the school too!"

"I see," Leon replied, his tone flat as he kept his pace steady, focusing on the road ahead.

"Seriously, Leon! Are you trying to win an award for the 'Most Serious Face'? Lighten up a bit! We're heading to school, not a funeral!" Marcus teased, playfully nudging Leon with his elbow.

Leon didn't stop or change his expression.

Soon, they reached the school, which was a simple structure with children also lining up to enter. Leon's attractive clothes and handsome face garnered quite a bit of attention.

"Hehe, you already have girls eyeing you," Marcus chuckled. Leon just maintained a cold facade, somehow making the woman around him even more attracted to him, which left Leon feeling confused.

Then they silently entered the classroom; nobody spoke much, even Marcus or fatty, the talkative one, was wordless.

The teacher slowly entered. He was a lean man in simple clothing—nothing special—and began to speak. All the people around Leon were actually much older than him by a large margin, but what set him apart was that he was bigger than most of the children there.

"Does anyone know the story of the Legend of Primordial Anthropos?"

Everyone raised their hands except for Leon. The teacher pointed at him and said, "You talk."

Leon stood up with a frown, feeling the eyes of his classmates on him, and began to speak slowly.

Long ago, when the world was just formed, it was a land of chaos. Ghosts roamed the sky, demons devoured everything, and wild beasts ran rampant, leading to a fight for survival at every moment.

Among the ghosts and demons, the first human appeared. He was known as Primordial Anthropos.

Just like a caveman, he would hunt beasts, eat their raw flesh, and drink muddy water from the rivers.

He might not have been at the bottom of the food chain, but the demons, especially the Strixs, having the body of a bat and the head of a leopard, always found his meat good and blood juicy so they always hunted him.

Anthropos being just a normal human could only live in hiding in caves and run as far as he could to escape these demons.

Unfortunately, he could run but couldn't hide! They would find him every time and attack him instantly.

One day, Anthropos was extremely injured; his back was filled with bloody holes, and blood gushed rapidly out from them. His vision was extremely blurry as he stumbled upon a branch, falling to the wet ground and staining his face in the process.

All hope seemed to have been lost as he gradually closed his eyes, and his world slowly started to blank out.

At that moment, some sounds came from the bushes, and three white flickering lights appeared in front of his eyes.

"You can only choose one of us, human," the three flickering lights echoed in unison.

The first flickering light stated that as long as he could work hard, he would gain strength. Anthropos immediately chose it, and the other two flickers of light vanished from his sight.

Then he felt his strength soar through the sky, and his body grew bulky and strong, with muscles forming all over.

Hunting was no longer difficult, and he fought bravely against those Strixs, killing many in the process. His life became extremely stable and easy.

However, while working hard, his body started to wear out, and he suffered mentally, growing exhausted. Anthropos soon realised that strength wasn't everything.

Hard work made him weary, and his physical condition constantly deteriorated.

At this time, another flicker of white light approached him.

"Human, as long as you choose to sacrifice your hard work, I will grant you wisdom."

Growing tired and weary, Anthropos chose this flicker of light immediately.

"No, you betrayed hard work; you will face the consequences."

After the light entered him, Anthropos's withered body grew even leaner, with almost no muscles left.

But wisdom gave him another hope: he no longer needed to kill animals and used the fruits from the trees as staple food. However, this was not enough for his body, so he grew even leaner.
