Ultimate Village Doctor

Chapter 239: The Old Mansion

Because he was in the city, Long Xiaoshan didn't get too carried away; he took the car for a brief spin and drove back to the hotel.

He opened the door and got out of the car.

Cui Juan happened to be coming down the stairs, covering her face in a sorry state.

She had been beaten up by Li Ronghao, her skin bruised and face swollen. She had just cleaned herself up in the bathroom before coming out, her heart filled with unresolved anger. She couldn't understand why Li Ronghao had suddenly lost his mind and even mentioned being kicked out of the hotel.

She wanted to wait for Li Ronghao to calm down before looking for him again.

After all, a rich client wasn't easy to come by, and even after being beaten, she wasn't willing to let go.

As she reached the entrance, a fiery sports car roared in.

Having hung around in the city for a few years, she recognized that the car was a Ferrari, worth at least several million—a car even Li Ronghao couldn't afford. He had once pointed at a similar sports car and told her that one day he would drive a Ferrari and become a real member of high society.

So seeing this car, she couldn't help but stop and gaze at it with envy and longing.

When she saw a young man step out of that fiery sports car, she thought to herself how young he was, even younger than Li Ronghao. If only she could get involved with him, compared to this man, Li Ronghao was nothing.

But she was self-aware enough to know that a woman like her, who had been through the wringer, wouldn't catch the eye of these truly powerful scions.

Yet, why did the man's back look so familiar?

When the man from the sports car turned around, Cui Juan's face suddenly stiffened.

It was him!

Chun Tao's husband.

The young man dressed in clothes that screamed peasant roots.

How could this be?

Cui Juan's heart felt as if it had been struck by lightning, almost stopping.

A wave of intense jealousy and panic surged within her.

She had thought that after a few years in the city, she was no longer in the same league as Chun Tao, and seeing her only made her want to show off.

Only now did she realize how ridiculous that was.

Chun Tao's husband was so wealthy, driving a sports car that Li Ronghao might never afford in his lifetime.

Why, why, in what way was she inferior to her?

Why did the boys back in school like her?

After so many years since graduation, having entered society, and selling her body numerous times just to make money, having endured all kinds of hardships, she still couldn't compare to her.

Chun Tao, a poor girl from the countryside, had actually married such a top-tier playboy.

And yet, she could only be a mistress to the likes of Li Ronghao, always at risk of being abandoned.

This vast disparity twisted Cui Juan's face.

Only now did she realize why Li Ronghao had cursed and hit her earlier, and why he said it was her fault. It must have been because he had offended Chun Tao's husband, leading to the loss of Li Ronghao's job.

...

After getting out of the car, Long Xiaoshan was greeted by Wang Sihai and Yang Dafu.

Yang Dafu said, "Brother Long, how do you like the car?"

"The car is good," Long Xiaoshan rested his hand on the car door. "How much? I'll take it."

"No need, no need, my son has offended Brother Long. Consider this car a gift of apology from me," Yang Dafu hurriedly said.

Long Xiaoshan gave a faint smile, "Let's keep things separate. Do you think I'm the kind of person to extort you?"

"Not at all, Brother Long, I truly seek forgiveness," Yang Dafu, who had just stood beside Wang Sihai, had cautiously inquired about Long Xiaoshan's background. Although Wang Sihai hadn't revealed anything about Long Xiaoshan becoming the Dragon Head of Hechuan City, the fragments of information he let slip were enough to send chills down Yang's spine.

Someone like Wang Sihai, a big shot who took more than he gave, had actually gifted a four-star hotel to the Brother Long before him.

Compared to that, the car worth several million he offered was nothing.

Initially, he had felt some pain and reluctance, but now he genuinely wished to ingratiate himself with such a prominent figure. If he could establish even the slightest connection with such a person, it would be worth it even if he had to give away several Ferraris.

As someone in business, he knew all too well the importance of connections.

Long Xiaoshan slightly knitted his brows, and Wang Sihai said, "Brother Long, why not just put it on the hotel's account? The hotel was planning to get a car for the chairman anyway."

Upon receiving a signal from Wang Sihai, Yang Dafu quickly added, "Right, I have a partnership with Sihai's hotel, so putting it on the hotel's account is convenient as well."

Long Xiaoshan pondered for a moment and then said, "Alright, let's do that."

He knew that Yang Dafu wouldn't charge him if it went on the hotel's account, but he couldn't be bothered to go back and forth on the issue here.

He patted Yang Dafu's shoulder and said, "You're not bad. Leave me your business card, our company will need quite a few cars in the future."

Indeed, a great many vehicles would be needed once the roads in Longyang Village were completed.

Upon hearing this, Yang Dafu was overjoyed. He hastily took out a business card and respectfully handed it to Long Xiaoshan, saying, "Brother Long, you can come to me for any car needs in the future, and I'll give you the best prices."

Long Xiaoshan nodded. He and Wang Sihai still had business to attend to and after a few words, asked Yang Dafu to go first.

Long Xiaoshan drove the Ferrari with Wang Sihai and visited several locations.

They also took over a KTV, a restaurant, and two bars.

Busy to the point of not touching the ground.

Brother Wukong, Brother Wukong, the master is being taken away by the Demon Fairy.

"Hey, Auntie Su!"

"There's no need to trouble yourself."

"Xuehen is back? Alright, I'll come over in the evening."

Long Xiaoshan hung up the phone.

Bai Susu called him to join them for a meal to thank him for saving Old Master Bai; hearing that Bai Xuehen had also taken leave from school to come back, Long Xiaoshan pulled over to the side of the road.

"Brother Long, what's the matter?" Wang Sihai got out of the car and asked.

"I have something else to do. Let's leave those other matters for another time," Long Xiaoshan replied.

"Alright then, Brother Long, you're busy," Wang Sihai said.

"That's fine, see you later."

Long Xiaoshan drove the Ferrari straight to the suburbs. Old Master Bai had been discharged from the hospital and returned to his home. The Bai Family's old residence was located in the suburbs, a more suitable place for convalescence. Long Xiaoshan followed the GPS straight to the Bai Family's old residence.

The houses here were quite old, having seen many years, but they all occupied significant plots of land.

With front and back courtyards, even in the suburbs, such large mansions weren't something ordinary people could afford; only those with some substance lived here.

When Long Xiaoshan arrived, it was around four in the afternoon.

The mansions here were connected.

They weren't very far apart from each other thanks to similar construction styles, and luckily there were house numbers. Long Xiaoshan drove into a small lane and saw the gate of a mansion open, with two people dressed as Taoists walking out.

Such attire was rare these days, prompting Long Xiaoshan to take a second look.

He soon realized that these two Taoists were not Spirit Practitioners—after all, Spirit Practitioners weren't that common.

As he drove past the mansion gate, he let out a soft "Huh," his expression showing that he was deep in thought. As his car passed by the front of the house, he glanced inside and saw a woman standing alone in the courtyard, her hair disheveled.
