Chapter 3: We Declare to Initiate Change
In front of him was a wooden chest whose latch place emitted the glow, Even if there wasn't enough sun to reflect it.
It didn't look strange. One might think that some person had one and that the water had washed it there. But Kyle was almost convinced that wasn't it.
With trembling hands, he slowly reached over to open it. There was still a small chance that it was a coincidence.
Even Kyle, who tended to accept things easily and didn't flinch, even in the face of death, felt this scared and refused to accept what was in front of him.
That situation in his mind was even more unacceptable to him than his inevitable death before.
Aquí tienes una versión revisada con ortografía corregida y un toque de arrogancia y majestuosidad digno de deidades:
Just as he was about to confirm whether his fear was real, a voice—or rather, voices—suddenly echoed around him. It was strange; it felt as though countless individuals of varying genders and ages were speaking in unison, their tone clear and undeniable.
He couldn't tell if the sound reached him through his ears or resonated directly within his mind. But what truly mattered were the words being spoken.
[[Here begins a new era.]]
[[We declare the worlds to be united, and so it was done.]]
[[We declare the end of stagnation, and it is done.]]
[[We declare all to be equal, and it is done.]]
[[Now we declare to initiate change, and it shall be so.]]
'fuck, you've got to be kidding me'.
Hearing that, Kyle had no doubts now he didn't even have to open the chest and he already knew what was inside.
He didn't have time to panic, those words were the final and definitive nail in the coffin. The unacceptable situation was a cruel, unwelcome reality. So he walked over to the chest and opened it with a
crack
Inside, there was what looked like a fishhook. It was a hook nearly two meters long, but the shank that looked like a hilt, and the rest of the hook was not unlike a hook-shaped sword with a sharp point.
Immediately, recognizing the danger ahead, he looked around and scanned the people who were still gathering. A frightening possibility came to his mind. He turned to the group and shouted, his voice echoing across the water:
"Hey, spread out! It's not safe! Get as far away from each other as possible!"
That was the most he could do and After saying that, he simply swam as far away as he could. The people looked at him, but didn't understand anything that was going on.
Only a few did what he said, whether it was because of Kyle's words or because they felt there was something wrong after hearing that mysterious voice.
Among them was the beautiful girl from the store who seemed to remember Kyle, he was the weird guy who had come to the store earlier and instead of panicking he just sat down to eat, so she could contact her parents, which she never could.
Maybe because she seemed to have something to defend herself with, and seemed to know what was going on she felt she should follow him in this strange situation.
"hey!!!! wait!..." the girl, who was extremely anxious, called out to him decided to follow him, even though her reason told her that it was not a good idea to move away from the group.
something inside her felt that it was the right thing to do, it was something so real that she could not ignore it.
"calm is not definite yet, it might not happen, just stay away, just in case"
Kyle even though he had imagined a future together, he didn't pay attention to her, it wasn't because he was ignoring her, he was just still digesting the reality of the situation.
It was mainly him trying to stay calm and get as far away from people as possible.
But it was too late, even though he was trying to swim fast, he wasn't very fast to begin with, even though he was trying with all his might.
"hey I said wait!"
the girl instead seemed to be very good and reached him quickly, touching him on the shoulder.
"...Ah!!?."
Kyle was surprised, he didn't think someone would follow them, but without time to overthink it, what he was afraid of happened".
Swoosh!
"Do you know what's going on he....!!"
Suddenly, as if appearing out of nowhere, a large number of tuna fish emerged. Kyle instinctively moved to the side, narrowly dodging what seemed like an attack directed at him.
However, the girl who had been in the middle of interrogating him was suddenly swept away by a tuna that collided with her. She didn't even seem to understand what had happened.
Kyle watched as the life faded from the girl's eyes as she was dragged away. Seeing death so close for the first time left him in shock, but he quickly pulled himself together. This wasn't the time to freeze—he would be next if he stayed still.
They were no ordinary tuna; they were twice the size of a normal tuna, which were already large and seemed especially focused on attacking people.
The one that Kyle had previously dodged by pure instinct, turned around and launched itself at Kyle, without any other choice Kyle prepared to face the huge tuna.
Kyle with a quick thought obviously realized that he was no match for that tuna in brute strength, not to mention that he was at a disadvantage of terrain, and the tuna is an animal that swims very fast, taking into account all that Kyle quickly thought of a strategy that he hoped would work or accompany the girl before to the beyond.
He placed the hook in the potion he thought would finish the tuna, but the closer the tuna got, the more his nerves overcame them and instinctively he changed the potion and placed the hook in front of him defensively and prepared for the impact, which came seconds later.
BAM!!!
"ughh!!!"
The impact pushed him backwards.
Splash!
The water around him cushioned a little, but the tuna kept pushing him back as it took the bait.
He could clearly see the inside of its mouth, and it definitely wasn't like a normal tuna's mouth; rather, it had teeth like a grotesque shark's, arranged all over its mouth.
If it bit off a limb, it would definitely lose it. Finally, the tuna pushed it until he touched the sea floor. It barely found some support, but even being underwater, it wasn't enough.
Humans were definitely not meant to be underwater; everything was different and way out of what he was used to.
However, he didn't back down. After being pushed for a while, his back made contact with what looked like a piece of concrete
"ackhh!!!" whether it was a wall or a piece of ground, Whatever it was, he finally felt that his back and feet had enough stability to draw his strength.
Hands steady but shaking, Kyle swung his nearly six-foot hook, aiming the curved point directly at the eye of the tuna that outnumbered him in size by twice as much.
Knowing this was his only moment, he took a breath, concentrated, and with all his strength made a sweeping "swing" motion, as if holding a baseball bat.
The hook sank into the tuna's flesh, cutting the inside of its mouth. The tuna emitted a violent flutter, but the sharp, curved tip, thanks to the shape and angle, managed to penetrate its eye, releasing a torrent of blood into the water. Kyle didn't stop; he knew that a superficial blow would not be enough.
"die....arrrhgg!! you fucking bastard!!."
Determinedly, he pushed the hook deeper, levering it to ensure the hook went deep enough. The tuna fought with savage force, flailing desperately, its sharp teeth just inches from tearing Kyle apart. But he continued to hold on to his weapon, dodging the fish's onslaught.
Suddenly, the tuna, in desperation, decided to swim away at high speed. Kyle was dragged with him, the water resisting his every move. His body tensed, but he never let go of the hook, because being left without his only weapon would leave him completely defenseless.
The tuna didn't seem to be smart, as that was the worst move it could make, with Kyle holding the hook still stuck in his eye several factors came into play, Kile's weight, the speed of the tuna and the sharpness of the hook, causing the hook to sink deeper and deeper into the tuna's eye, by pinningmore and more as it swam.
A stroke of luck caused the point of the hook to reach a critical angle, piercing completely through the fish's brain.
The tuna flailed one last time before losing all its energy. Slowly, the monstrous fish stopped swimming, its body floating limp in the water. A muffled sound, a "squelch," marked the end of the fight.
"haaa~...haaaa~..." Kyle was breathing shakily and deeply. It was an intense battle, but pitifully he still couldn't be calm. The tuna managed to drag him back to where the gathered people were.
The surroundings were pure chaos; there were body parts and blood everywhere. The tuna's showed no discrimination—it killed everyone equally.
Kyle even caught sight of the upper half of the mother he had seen at the mini-market, clutching tightly what also appeared to be just the upper half of her child. Nearby, the severed head of the firefighter who had been gathering people before.
There were still a few people desperately fighting, barely dodging the onslaught of the Tuna´s, but they were slowly falling and the number of dead bodies in the area was increasing.
It was an inferno. The smell of blood, which shouldn't be possible, even entered through his nose. He didn't know how that was even possible, but right now that wasn't a priority thought for Kyle, as a nearby tuna noticed it and came to attack him.
this time in he didn't panic. He looked around and, as usual, he was in an awkward position, swimming without any support. The previous situation could be repeated, but luckily, the carcass of the tuna he had just killed was nearby.
It wasn't the best, but it was the only thing. Using it as a support, he prepared himself. And just when the tuna was close, this time he didn't flinch and following the strategy he had thought of, Kile positioned the hook in the way he thought was correct.
At the last moment, using the carcass of the first tuna, he thrust sharply to the side, so that the tuna sped past him. But that wasn't all; he had the hook in a position that would get caught in the tuna's mouth.
He held the hook tightly, and, just as before, it was pulled in, but the sharpness of the hook again caused it to start tearing. The hook followed the path from the mouth until it finally came out of the tuna's body.
By the time the hook came out, the tuna had a long, lethal wound all over its side, Solo swam for a while longer until he stopped from blood loss.
[You have leveled up]
At that moment, like the previous voice, he heard a voice in his head.
