Chapter 7: Red
Although the world looked red at the time, Kyle could see the contours, details and depth clearly, and where he had fought the tuna, it was now occupied by a herd of cat sharks.
Kyle who created a game where there were many references to real aquatic species knew a lot about marine life, but his knowledge of the game again did not align with what he was seeing, as it was a species he had not created or put into his game. Luckily, his marine knowledge worked to some degree.
That species was supposed to be small, but these sharks were even larger than a white shark. On top of that, they seemed to have metallic skin and their fins were like razor sharp blades; it was very surreal.
But, considering the things he designed in his game, you shouldn't be surprised by something as simple as this. The problem was that these were unfamiliar creatures, something he had never designed in his game and didn't know how to approach.
Kyle now knew why this area was dangerous, not to mention that the deep red surrounding the area where the sharks swam in circles was more intense than the surrounding area.
This confirmed that his eyes could even differentiate levels of danger in the same color category, with the middle of them obviously being the most dangerous area.
'For now, let's get out of here.'
Kyle thought, stepping back cautiously. He began to slowly move away from the area so as not to attract the attention of the sharks, which numbered around two hundred.
He exited the ruined building through another hole he found and went in the opposite direction of the pack of catsharks, confident that his Five-Colored Eyes would continue to help him detect danger. He hoped to get out of this red zone as quickly as possible.
But, as usual, life was spitting in Kyle's face and luck had long since deserted him, to the point of believing in an apocalypse only for it not to succeed. A catshark, which for some reason was isolated from the herd, was right in his path.
Kyle, who was behind some debris, analyzed the shark to understand how to overtake it.
(Acerodactylus Nvl 8)
"Oh, so that's what the color blue was for."
Kyle thought how odd the blue color was, which was foreign to his original design of only four colors, but he realized its function.
Now that it wasn't a game, he had overlooked that he couldn't see the levels and evaluate things; it was a common and basic function in his game, like being able to see the status.
Again he thought about how good it was to have chosen this ability, ignoring the pain he suffered.
Still, remembering that the knowledge of the game could not be fully applied, he was grateful that at least the concept of levels also applied to these sea creatures.
Even though the shark was four levels stronger than him, he believed he had a chance of beating it.
Kyle would avoid it if he could, but the shark was swimming in a wasteland, with no place to hide or go around. Beyond, Kyle had glimpsed a city; though it only looked like a destroyed city and not the one he was looking for.
Still, Kyle thought it would be a good place to hide and find supplies, and perhaps surviving people, though with the first taste, Kyle had doubts about the latter.
He took a deep breath and tightened his grip on the hilt of his hook, determined to finish off the shark in one blow to avoid alerting the herd, which was no more than a hundred yards away from him.

With determination, he invested his remaining 3 stat points in strength and looked at his hook-sword, knowing he would have to act quickly.
(Common Fishhook, Nvl 5 (black))
Kyle's weapon was a level 5, black grade fishhook, the most basic and weakest weapons in the game. He didn't know if he could hurt it, especially this shark, whose skin seemed a bit metallic and tough. Besides, if he missed, those sharp fins were something to be reckoned with.
"Well, now or never..."
Kyle thought as he gathered momentum and swam with all his speed towards the shark. He needed to finish the creature off with a single blow and attacked from behind, giving it no time to react.
But Kyle forgot that sharks have the ability to sense vibrations in the water. As Kyle approached, the catshark detected his movement, turned immediately and, with its ferocious jaws, launched a powerful attack.
Clannkk!!
The two collided in a clash of force and speed. Kyle gritted his teeth and, kicking with all his might, pushed the shark backwards, trying to match the aquatic beast's strength.
Although the shark had all the advantages in its own territory, the water, Kyle was undeterred and finally managed to gain some ground and repel it, taking advantage of the moment to raise his hook.
With the curve of his hook pointing down, he raised it over his head like a pickaxe and dropped it with all his might on the shark's head.
Clank!
Again the sound of metal clacking underwater rang out. Kyle felt the resistance, and it was definitely much stronger than the tuna he had faced before, and he understood that if he didn't make it through on this attempt, he would be in grave danger, being so close to the shark's deadly jaw that he was barely keeping away thanks to the length of the hook.
"Ghhhhhhhhh!!!" he no longer wanted to scream and make noise, so he held back her scream, but the effort was just as intense. Finally, he felt the point of the hook slowly penetrate the shark's skull.
It was an intense struggle in which he had to use all his newly gained strength. Slowly, Kyle was adjusting to the environment and moving properly, but just as Kyle was about to pierce the shark's head, his eyes caught the shark's red getting more intense, scaring Kyle.
Instinctively, he knew something bad was going to happen and did what his instincts told him: he released his hook and, with great momentum, kicked the tip of the shark's nose, narrowly avoiding its teeth and gaining a great distance. Not only that, but he cowered, protecting his head and chest with his hands and feet.
Bammm!!!
An explosion sounded near him, and Kyle, who had his head in his arms, felt fragments of something at high speed hit and scratch him. The shark had self-destructed before Kyle could finish it off.
[You have leveled up]
Kyle took a few hits and cuts, but nothing lethal or incapacitating, though he knew how dangerous it was.
Wasting no time, Kyle tried to retrieve his only weapon, which was floating near him. Unfortunately, it was not in good condition. Kyle looked at the remains of his weapon in his hands; it now looked more like a sword, with only a slight hint of curvature at the tip.
This had been his only lifeline and the object that had gotten him this far. Though he felt a slight melancholy, there was no time for regret.
He glanced towards the pack of sharks hoping that they hadn't noticed what happened here because of the distance they were so far away, but....
"Fuck..."
Life was never kind to Kyle.
