Unexpected Mates

Chapter 3: 3 Easier Said Than Done

In fact, most werewolves had never seen fire.

They inherently feared fire, and even after evolving into werewolves, they still had a natural fear of it.

Andrew was one of the few werewolves who had seen fire and witnessed its tremendous destructive power.

He asked Olivia seriously, "Do we have to get a fire?"

Olivia nodded.

Andrew sighed in resignation and picked her up, "I'll take you to find the fire starter."

Olivia asked, "Can't we start a fire with friction?

"Start a fire with friction? I've never done that before."

Andrew brought her wood and two stones and Olivia started trying both of them.

Her palms were almost worn out, yet she still couldn't produce a single spark.

She was furious.

Everything was easier said than done.

In the end, Andrew couldn't bear to see her struggle anymore.

He tenderly licked her palm and said, "I'll take you to find the fire starter."

Olivia blushed as he licked her hand.

Feeling embarrassed, she pulled her hand back and changed the subject, "Aren't you supposed to go to the werewolf tribe?"

Andrew, savoring the taste of his Luna, replied, "We'll go to the werewolf tribe first. After the witch doctor checks on you, I'll take you to find the fire starter."

Olivia immediately responded, "I'm not sick, I don't need to see the doctor."

"If you're not sick, why did you suddenly faint earlier?"

Olivia couldn't possibly say that she fainted because he scared her.

Andrew held her close, "Don't be afraid. It's just a check-up with the witch doctor. Whether you're sick or not, you're my mate, and I will take care of you for the rest of my life."

Olivia was moved by his words.

In her human world, there were once three important people to her: her elderly grandma, her good friend, and her beloved boyfriend.

However, her good friend and her boyfriend cheated on her and slept together behind her back.

They betrayed her in the cruelest way.

What's more, her grandma died a month ago.

When she fell ill or lonely, there was always no one by her side.

During the night, she would hide in her blankets, holding onto her grandma's photo, silently crying.

The extreme lack of care and love made her sensitive and insecure.

She thought she would never receive love from others.

Andrew's words were the warmest words she had ever heard since her grandma died.

No one had ever promised her to take care of her.

He was the first one and the only one.

Olivia originally wanted to push him away, but in the end, she couldn't bear to let go of this moment of warmth, allowing Andrew to hold her, "Call me Olivia."

Andrew ate up all the wild boar meat, then turned into a big brown wolf, carrying Olivia on his back to continue the journey.

They encountered several wild beasts on the way, but Andrew was already full and not interested in them.

Olivia remembered the assigned task, hesitated for a moment, and finally chose to speak to Andrew.

"Can I have five more pieces of animal skins?"

Andrew agreed without hesitation even though Andrew didn't understand Olivia's request.

He slaughtered five wild beasts in a row on the way, carefully skinning each beast, washing them clean, and handing over the skins to her.

Andrew watched Olivia happily holding the animal skins, and his mood also became cheerful. He asked gently, "Enough? If not, I can get you more."

Olivia quickly shook her head, "No, thanks. Already enough."

She saw the bloodstains on his body and a wound accidentally scratched by a wild beast.

She felt both touched and guilty.

Olivia helped him wipe off the blood on his face and expressed her thanks.

It was the first time Olivia took the initiative to touch him.

Andrew was delighted and hugged her.

"You are mine. It's my pleasure to do anything for you. "

This big wolf seemed to particularly enjoy hugging her.

At first, Olivia was a little embarrassed, but after many times, she got used to it.

She pushed Andrew's chest, "Go wash up."

After slaughtering five wild beasts in a row, Andrew exuded a strong bloody smell all over his body.

So Andrew walked to the river to wash his body.

At this time, Olivia was having a conversation with the Moon Goddess in her mind.

"I have collected enough animal skins."

"Confirmed, distributing gift package. Olivia, check it!"

Suddenly, a bag appeared. Inside, there were a fire starter and a parchment scroll.

Olivia was very happy to see the gifts.

They were quite useful to her. Yes, the Moon Goddess kept her promise.

On the cover of the parchment scroll were a few words, "Complete Illustrated Guide to Ancient Flora and Fauna, Volume One."

Olivia opened it, glanced at it roughly, and found that it recorded the characteristics and uses of many animals and plants.

With it, Olivia would be able to distinguish which plants can be used as medicine and which ones can be used for cooking.

This will be very helpful for her future life! Olivia carefully put away the parchment scroll and fire starter.

When Andrew came back from the river, he noticed a small bag on her back.

Olivia seemed afraid that he would ask about the origin of the small bag, her eyes avoiding his gaze.

Andrew smiled, it seemed like his Luna had a secret!

But it's okay, as they spend more time together in the future, he would slowly find out all her secrets.

Andrew transformed back into a wolf and continued on the journey with his Luna.

The Moonlight werewolf pack was the largest pack in this area.

Not only were they numerous, but they are also very good at cooperating in hunting.

Their powerful attack abilities make other beast tribes very wary.

This tribe of werewolves was established on the mountainside of a rocky mountain.

The terrain on the mountain was complex, and if one entered rashly, they could easily get lost.

At the foot of the mountain, there was an open space where the werewolf tribe held a market every week.

Beast men from the surrounding areas brought their goods to exchange what they needed.

That day happened to be market day, and many beast men had gathered there, selecting and purchasing goods, creating a lively scene.

Andrew transformed back into human form.

He cautioned Olivia, "Stay close to me, don't run around. There are many bad beast men in the market. If they find out you're female, they'll snatch you away and sell you."

Olivia blinked, "Sounds like human traffickers."

"Human traffickers?"

"They are bad people who rely on kidnapping and selling females and children."

"Well, those bad people are human traffickers. You must be careful, never leave my side, got it?"

Seeing Andrew's serious expression, Olivia nodded.
