Chapter 29: Chapter 27 – Rule 13: The Leader Does Not Get Ambushed by Villains (2)

I had all the villains I needed to catch recorded and memorized.
One of them was 'Bomber,' a heinous criminal responsible for eleven bombing incidents.
Since he was an event villain unrelated to the main story, he became one of my tasks to handle.
Moments ago, I spotted Bomber among the students in the distance.
As soon as I saw his face heading towards the unmanned magazine store, I reflexively recognized him.
Purple hair, sunken eyes, and a fake lip piercing.
These were some of Bomber's disguises.
This information was recorded in my memo based on my game knowledge.
I had worried about not being able to distinguish his in-game appearance in real life, but I realized those concerns were unfounded. Those features were hard to miss.
'Why is Bomber here?'
I walked casually while pondering.
Bomber usually stayed holed up in his workshop unless there was a special reason.
In the game, whenever Bomber went out disguised among people, a bombing incident occurred.
However,
'This is the Federation Council's territory. If he causes an incident here, it's like openly challenging the Federation Council. Would he do something so reckless?'
Bomber was a villain who wished to witness as many explosions as possible and ultimately wanted to be swept away by a massive explosion.
Even so, openly challenging the Federation Council seemed excessively reckless for a third-rate villain like him.
No matter how much of a Bomber he was, he wouldn't want to shorten his life.
'…I should report this.'
Regardless, Bomber was a target I had to catch.
Catching him here would reduce future burdens. I'd save the transportation costs I'd spend to catch him later. That was good.
Also, an explosion in this area would cause significant damage.
I had no intention of letting that happen.
I took out my smartphone.
I was about to send a text message to the New Yongsan Control Center.
"..."
I paused briefly and slightly pulled the brim of my hat down to cover my eyes.
I saw Bomber secretly hiding something inside a magazine and then putting the magazine back on the shelf.
Though my bangs were long enough to obscure my eyes, I clearly saw his lips.
He was smiling.
He must have thought no one was watching.
If I didn't have game knowledge, I wouldn't have known he was Bomber either.
'His target is either someone around here or me.'
I knew Bomber's methods well.
If he wasn't aiming to blow up a building, he preferred using small drone bombs. They allowed him to change the bomb's location flexibly. However, he wouldn't deploy a small drone in front of his target. He didn't want to be caught.
If what he placed on the shelf was indeed a bomb, it was the final step. He would likely trigger the bomb when his target passed by the magazine store.
That's why I judged that Bomber's target was someone nearby.
"Vice-Leader, we're starting disciplinary committee activities now. Follow my lead."
"Okay."
I gently pulled Baek-seo's wrist towards me, covering my mouth with my hand and leaned towards her ear.
I briefly summarized the situation and gave instructions. Baek-seo trembled intermittently. It was a slight movement, so I didn't pay much attention.
Baek-seo looked at me and nodded.
"I trust you."
"You too, be careful."
Baek-seo started moving in the opposite direction.
Alright, let's cross one task off the list today.
*
His bangs were annoying.
How long had it been since he last cut his hair?
Lee Ha-min thought about this as he walked through New Yongsan Street.
Today was a historic day.
He had received an assassination contract from a big shot, and the target was the Disciplinary Committee Leader of Ahsung High School.
Today, the Disciplinary Committee Leader of Ahsung High School would fall victim to his artistic explosion. The thought sent a pleasant shiver down his spine.
Ha-min stealthily hid himself in an alley.
He had completed all the preliminary work to eliminate the Disciplinary Committee Leader.
Many would be sacrificed in the process, but Ha-min didn't care.
It was rather convenient.
The Disciplinary Committee Leader wouldn't ignore the safety of students.
He planned to take the entire street hostage to beat him.
'He's coming…!'
Ha-min smiled.
With just a press of the button on his wristwatch, the magic bomb he planted on the magazine shelf would explode.
He had specifically targeted the path Woo-jin was walking. Since Woo-jin wouldn't recognize Ha-min in his disguise, the ambush would definitely succeed.
He didn't expect to defeat him with just the bomb. If it caused enough damage, it would be a success.
He had prepared several bombs.
Using them, he planned to play a bomb-finding game with Woo-jin, creating a fun scenario.
Fighting like that, he could achieve victory.
'Alright…! Let's have a match, Disciplinary Committee Leader!'
Ha-min couldn't control his racing heart.
In excited anticipation, he panted, waiting for Woo-jin to pass by the unmanned store.
"Hmm…?"
The long-awaited moment.
A sudden thought crossed Ha-min's mind.
'Where's Oh Baek-seo?'
He remembered that the Vice-Leader of Ahsung High School's Disciplinary Committee, Oh Baek-seo, had been walking with Woo-jin.
She had disappeared at some point.
It would have been great to blow them up together.
Blowing up both the Disciplinary Committee Leader and the genius Oh Baek-seo would have been exhilarating.
Ha-min smacked his lips, feeling a pang of regret.
'Well, the target is only the Disciplinary Committee Leader.'
Anyway, the designated target was only Woo-jin.
He just needed to deal with him.
Blowing up Baek-seo with his bombs would have to wait for another time.
There was no time for deep thought.
Soon, Woo-jin passed by the bomb.
"Alright, the game starts now."
Ha-min pressed the button on his wristwatch with a sly smile.
Click.
Just before the bomb went off after a brief delay.
At that moment, Woo-jin, who had been listening for the faint sound of the bomb, made a dramatic move.
"!"
Woo-jin quickly pushed the students next to him and leaped away from the magazine store.
As if anticipating an incident, he had already reinforced his body with magic.
They hit the ground.
Boom!!
The bomb Ha-min had planted exploded, sending out a mysterious blaze.
"Ahhh!"
"Explosion!?"
"There's a bomb! An explosion!"
The students passing by were thrown into confusion.
So was the person who detonated the bomb.
"What…!?"
Ha-min couldn't help but be taken aback.
Woo-jin had responded at the perfect timing, preventing any casualties.
Even with animalistic instincts, such a response was unlikely unless he had somehow foreseen the bomb's detonation.
Woo-jin wasn't a seer who could predict the future.
In other words, even someone without much insight could quickly understand what this situation meant.
'Did he know from the start? That the bomb would go off!?'
Ha-min was in shock.
What had happened?
While Ha-min was grappling with confusion, Woo-jin stood up and dusted off his clothes. His gaze didn't wander but focused straight ahead.
"!!"
Ha-min made eye contact with Woo-jin.
A sharp look.
Cold, teal eyes were fixed solely on Ha-min.
Ha-min instinctively took a step back.
'Damn!'
He clicked his tongue and discreetly moved. There was a predetermined route in the alley.
After enhancing his body with magic, he quietly ran down the deserted path, confident.
'What's going on? Why? How? How did he find out!?'
His disguise, his plan—everything had been exposed.
Otherwise, Woo-jin wouldn't have responded to the bomb so quickly and then immediately targeted him.
Surely, Woo-jin had recognized Ha-min's disguised form and watched what he did at the magazine store.
'Were the rumors true?'
Ha-min had heard rumors that the Disciplinary Committee Leader of Ahsung High School preemptively uncovered Anomia's plans and was thoroughly informed about their important details.
He had also heard that as a result, the large villain organization Anomia was dismantled in a short time.
At the time, Ha-min had scoffed.
He thought Anomia had been careless with their security, leading to information leaks.
Considering the Disciplinary Committee Leader a monster in intelligence warfare was just their overreaction.
Now, it made sense to him without even realizing it.
Faced with the current situation, Ha-min's mind was filled with nothing but intense confusion and questions.
However.
'Even if I was discovered, I still have enough bombs.'
There were still enough cards left to play against the Disciplinary Committee Leader.
The only failure was the ambush.
'The game has just begun…!'
As he ran, forcing a smile.
Whoosh!
A sharp sound pierced Ha-min's ears.
Bam!
"Ugh!"
In an instant, Ha-min was struck on the head and slammed into the building's outer wall.
"What, what the…?"
If he hadn't reinforced his body with magic, he would have been knocked out.
Dazed, Ha-min looked at the entity that attacked him.
It wasn't human.
A monster with horns on its head.
Clad in a tattered robe, it held an iron club in its right hand.
'Goblin?'
Seeing the strange creature, Ha-min thought of the word 'goblin.'
Its appearance was reminiscent of the goblins from folklore.
Click, click.
The sound of footsteps.
A woman approached.
Ha-min's eyes widened in astonishment when he saw her.
"Why, why are you…?"
Ha-min's voice trembled.
Questions arose.
The approaching woman had her pink hair tied back.
She wore a goblin mask on her face and approached with glowing eyes.
Those eyes indicated that her magic was active.
Ha-min couldn't not recognize her.
In fact, most citizens of Neo Seoul knew her.
Kim Dalbi, one of the Six Sinners.
Also known by many other names like Goblin Princess and Goblin Queen, she was a notorious villain leading an army of goblins.
While Goliath was recognized as the strongest individual in terms of sheer strength, some considered Kim Dalbi, who commanded the goblin army, to be almost invincible.
Ha-min's mind was in turmoil.
'What's happening…?'
It was already bad enough that his plan had been discovered by the Disciplinary Committee Leader, but why was this dangerous powerhouse, Goblin Princess, here in broad daylight attacking him?
He couldn't understand any of it.
Meanwhile, for Kim Dalbi, this situation was nothing.
"..."
She just needed to knock out the so-called Bomber and leave.
The villain disguise was merely a precaution. If a student saw her, she would have to switch back to the 'Kim Yeon-hee' disguise and leave New Yongsan.
Anyway, Dalbi found it hard to remain calm.
'It's a relief that Woo-jin avoided the ambush.'
Dalbi had just let out a sigh of relief.
She didn't know how Woo-jin had anticipated the bomb. However, she was relieved. If Woo-jin had been hurt in the explosion, she would have felt a heart-wrenching pain.
After confirming Woo-jin was safe, Dalbi immediately waited along Ha-min's escape route, leading to the current moment.
'Woo-jin won't know anything. I need to finish this quickly before he finds out and leave.'
It was unlikely Woo-jin recognized Ha-min's disguised form. Even though he had shown remarkable ability in quickly dismantling Anomia, it was unrealistic to think he could identify individual villains like Bomber.
So Woo-jin wouldn't be chasing Ha-min immediately.
If she quickly knocked out Ha-min and fled, she wouldn't encounter Woo-jin.
Dalbi wanted to see Woo-jin, but she lacked the courage to meet him.
"Goodbye."
Dalbi greeted with a radiant smile.
Contrasting her lovely smile, veins bulged on her forehead.
She felt like twisting the neck of the man who almost hurt Woo-jin.
"What is this…? Why are you doing this to me?"
Ha-min shouted, leaning against the building wall in distress. His voice was filled with resentment.
"Don't come closer…! Why are you doing this to me? What grudge do you have…!?"
"We…"
Dalbi's clear and firm voice cut off Ha-min's words.
"…need to know our places."
"...?"
What did she mean by that?
Ha-min didn't understand.
One thing was clear.
The woman was currently antagonistic toward him.
Like a cornered rat, Ha-min growled.
"What nonsense…!"
At that moment.
"?"
Dalbi sensed a presence other than Ha-min's and flinched.
She looked up immediately.
Whoosh! In the air, a man in a black uniform was falling, making a sound as he cut through the wind.
Thud!
He landed on the ground, creating a heavy thud and raising a cloud of dust. Instantly, both Dalbi and Ha-min felt a powerful presence.
Their eyes widened in surprise.
Crackle! The black expandable baton in the man's right hand emitted teal electricity. Through the dust, he glanced sharply at Dalbi and Ha-min.
"…You're here too."
It was Ahn Woo-jin, the Disciplinary Committee Leader of Ahsung High School.
He looked at Dalbi and spoke in a calm tone.
