Chapter 10: Unveiling the Past

Jisso sat in the grand hall, her fingers anxiously gripping the edge of the velvet chair. The room was dimly lit, the antique chandelier casting a warm, golden glow over the ornate furnishings. Despite its beauty, an eerie stillness filled the air, amplifying the rapid beat of her heart.

Across from her, Subaru stood with his back turned, gazing out of the tall windows that overlooked the misty gardens. His posture was stiff, as if he were carrying the weight of a thousand unspoken words.

Jisso swallowed hard, the nervous anticipation growing inside her.

**Jisso:** "So… about my father… you said you'd tell me everything today."

Subaru sighed, his crimson eyes reflecting a distant sorrow as he turned to face her.

**Subaru:** "Yes. It's time you knew the truth."

He walked slowly toward her, the soft creak of the wooden floorboards the only sound in the vast room. Subaru sat down across from her, his gaze intense yet gentle.

**Subaru:** "Your father, Felix… he was an extraordinary man. A brave man. But he was also a man burdened with secrets—secrets that were meant to protect you."

Jisso felt a lump form in her throat. Hearing her father's name spoken aloud after so many years sent a wave of emotions crashing through her.

**Jisso (softly):** "Protect me… from what?"

Subaru's jaw tightened. He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees.

**Subaru:** "From this world which a normal person can't see."

Jisso's eyes widened.

**Jisso:** "Can't see? What do you mean by this, is there another world."

**Subaru:** "Yes, there's lie a brutal world where only power is everything."

He paused, choosing his words carefully before continuing.

**Jisso:** "But, then why only my father cares more about it, if we can't see this world."

Subaru exchanged a glance with Rai, who had silently entered the room and leaned against the doorway, watching the conversation with an unreadable expression. Kanata followed, his arms crossed, his eyes darker than usual.

**Subaru:** "Your family isn't ordinary, Jisso."

He took a deep breath, his fingers tightening around each other.

**Subaru:** "Within you lies a treasure—an ancient power passed down through your bloodline. Your father sacrificed everything to keep it hidden from the wrong hands."

Jisso shook her head, disbelief swirling in her eyes.

**Jisso:** "A treasure inside me? That doesn't make any sense. How can something like that even be real?"

Kanata, who had remained silent until now, chuckled dryly.

**Kanata:** "You're living in a house with three vampires, and *this* is what you find hard to believe?"

Jisso shot him an annoyed look, but Subaru's serious expression quickly brought her focus back.

**Subaru:** "It's real, Jisso. And it's the reason why your father erased your memories. He knew the power inside you would attract danger beyond your understanding."

Jisso's lips parted in shock as memories of strange dreams, visions, and unsettling feelings flooded her mind. Pieces of the puzzle she didn't even know existed were slowly fitting together.

**Jisso:** "But… why now?"

Rai, who had been silent, finally spoke, his voice unusually grave.

**Rai:** "Because those who live in that so-called brutal world are growing desperate. They've been searching for you for years, waiting for the right moment. And now that you're here in the villa, you're within their reach."

Jisso's hands trembled slightly as she tried to process the gravity of the situation.

**Jisso:** "And… what about my mother? What happened to her?"

Subaru's gaze softened.

**Subaru:** "She passed away shortly after you were born. Your father never spoke much about it, but… I know he loved her deeply."

Jisso's eyes welled up with tears, the realization of how much she had lost hitting her all at once.

**Jisso (whispering):** "So my whole life has been a lie?"

**Subaru:** "No."

He reached out, placing a firm yet comforting hand over hers.

**Subaru:** "Your father did everything to give you a normal life, free from the burden of this place. But fate has a way of drawing us back to where we belong."

Jisso looked up at him, determination slowly replacing her fear.

**Jisso:** "If my father could bear all of this… then so can I."

Kanata smirked, impressed by her sudden resolve.

**Kanata:** "Big words for a fragile human."

**Jisso:** "I'm not as fragile as you think."

Rai chuckled, walking over and draping an arm around Jisso's shoulders.

**Rai:** "That's the spirit, babydoll. Looks like we're stuck with you now."

Jisso rolled her eyes, but a small smile tugged at her lips despite the heaviness in her heart.

**Subaru:** "Starting tomorrow, we'll begin your training."

**Jisso (raising an eyebrow):** "Training?"

**Subaru:** "Yes. If you can't control the power inside you, it could end up consuming you… or worse, be used against you."

Jisso nodded slowly, realizing there was no turning back now.

**Jisso:** "Alright. Let's do this."

A flicker of pride crossed Subaru's face.

**Subaru:** "Good."

As the conversation ended, Jisso stood up, her mind buzzing with everything she had just learned. She walked toward the window, gazing at the misty gardens outside.

The villa was no longer just an inheritance; it was a battlefield of memories, power, and secrets she was only beginning to uncover.

And somewhere out there, in the darkness beyond the trees, those who lurk for the power within her are waiting.
