Villain MMORPG: I Only Gain EXP by Killing Other Players

Chapter 7: 0004: The Rings of Asmodeus I

However, just as he left the large square he was in, a completely different and unexpected system message echoed in his ears.

{For an unknown reason, one of the 5 Chaos-grade objects in Rivia, the '10 Rings of Asmodeus' have chosen you as its master and you can not refuse it}

Damon had left the crowded area he was in and stood in a slightly quieter place. He couldn't believe what he had just heard.

Chaos-grade object?

Items in Rivia are divided into the following grades from least to greatest:

Steel

Iron

Bronze

Silver

Gold

Diamond

Immortal

Blessed

Saint

Demon

Arken

Chaos

At the beginning of the game, the system gives each player an Steel-grade armor and a weapon. If one was lucky enough, he might receive a Iron-grade weapon.

At this stage of the game, Silver-grade equipment were considered very rare to be received from the System. Possessing one will definitely attract the envy of other players.

As for Gold-grade equipment, they would appear in the more advanced stages of the game. However, they are always some people with heavenly luck or people with innate talent who could defeat a high-ranking monster and be rewarded with a gold-grade equipment.

Immortal-grade equipment are rare and only a handful of players would be able to secure them at the advanced stages of the game.

Blessed-grade equipment can only be gotten by the completion of special hidden missions that would be unlocked at the later stages of the game. But even so, the number of equipment of Blessed-grade in Rivia could be counted on the fingers on both hands.

Blessed-grade equipment could only be activated for a specific period of time. At the end of the countdown, the system would remove it from the game PERMANENTLY!

As for Saint and Demon-grades, players could only dream of attaining such a powerful equipment. They had a 1 in a million chance of ever appearing in the game. Not to mention the requirements to Tame such an entity. One wrong move and a player would be killed by the very weapon he/she was rewarded with.

At the top of the chain was the Chaos-grade entities. After knowing the dreadful info of the mighty grades below it, one can imagine the shock on Damon's face when he heard the announcement.

According to the leaked info about Hell's Foundation, the 5 Chaos-grade entities are the reason why the game is called Hell's Foundation. They weren't created in Rivia. If a player possessed one, it would make him/her a God above every other creature on Trivia. It had 1 in a billion chance of existing in Rivia and an even more insane odd of appearing during the early stages of the game.

Damon's mouth was open so wide an elephant could give birth inside. After he had calmed down a bit, Damon ran out of the place he was in. Having ran for 10 minutes, he stopped when he saw a secluded barn.

When he was certain he was alone, he hurriedly opened his inventory. Low and behold, levitating in his ten spots were black rings. Not for fingers, but big enough to be used as bangles.

The rings were completely black but still managed to give an eerie glow of dark purple. The small carvings on it contributed to its mysterious yet beautiful nature. Immediately he reached to touch one, they all left their slots. When Damon looked on his wrists, there they were. Five on each arm. Damon could feel the raw power that radiated from them.

Suddenly, Damon fell to the ground on his knees. His face was lifted to the midday sky. The iris of the brown eyes of his Avatar dilated into two and turned purple. The Rings were at the brink of possessing his body when another system announcement came into Damon's ears.

{For some unknown reason, 5 seals have just been placed on the Rings of Asmodeus by ????}

Instantly, Damon regained control of his body. His eyes went back to normal and the crushing weight of the Rings were no more. He could still feel them on his wrists but they didn't make him want to cut off his own hands like before the system's message was made.

'Phew! That was a close one. I can't reject the Rings but I can't handle them at their full power either,' Damon thought, looking at his wrists. 'I have to get stronger. But first…'

"Show me the info of the Rings of Asmodeus!"

{The Rings of Asmodeus, the Chaos God (sealed) :-

History info: (locked by ????)

Even without checking if the Rings had any special skill or effects, just seeing those bonuses, Damon couldn't wipe the big smile off his face.

Without doubt, it's worthy of being a Chaos-grade item. If it could offer such great benefits even with 5 seals, Damon couldn't help but wonder what the Rings would grant him later when he broke the seals.

The Power of a God!

Enthusiastic, Damon quickly returned his attention to the other information windows. At first, he was getting even more thrilled but at a point, its contents plummeted his joy into grief. The big smile on his face quickly disappeared like a dissipating gas.

The windows showed the information below:

Honestly, he didn't know how to feel; whether to weep or celebrate. There's no doubting the Rings' incredible power, but the curses attached were terrifying to say the least.

"What in the actual fuck?!" Damon exclaimed in anger.
