Wanda Maximoff Multiversal Harem Hunter

Chapter 20: Liberation Of The Residential District Pt. 1

The air was heavy with tension as the resistance fighters assembled at the edge of the residential district. Smoke curled lazily in the distance, blending with the shouts of Hydra patrols barking orders. The once-vibrant neighborhood had become a fortress, its streets filled with barricades, automated turrets, and patrols. Wanda Maximoff stood at the forefront, her crimson energy casting ghostly shadows on the war-torn pavement. The Chitauri Scepter hummed softly in her hand, its golden tip glowing faintly as it thrummed in sync with her chaos magic.

Beside her, Eska Vryn adjusted the looted battle armor she now wore. Its sleek black plating, scavenged from a fallen Hydra operative, was a far cry from the simpler gear she usually wore. It fit her well, the angular design highlighting her sharp features.

Eska glanced down at the armor, her mouth twisting in a frown. "You're sure this doesn't make me look like one of them?"

Wanda smirked, her crimson eyes glinting. "If it bothers you, just tell yourself you look cooler than they ever did."

Eska raised an eyebrow. "That's not exactly a confidence booster."

"It's not supposed to be," Wanda replied, her tone light despite the weight of their mission. Crimson energy pulsed faintly around her hands as she stepped closer. "But if Hydra's upping their game, so should we."

Eska grunted, sliding her helmet into place. "Fair enough. And you? Planning to fight Hydra in street clothes?"

Wanda's smirk widened, and the symbiote within her stirred. Its voice curled in her mind, low and persuasive. **"It's time, Wanda. Show them what we can do."**

Without responding, Wanda raised her arms, letting the transformation take hold. Crimson tendrils erupted from her body, spiraling around her in a hypnotic display. The symbiote's red and black substance spread like molten fire, wrapping her form in an armor-like suit that seemed alive.

The suit shimmered with a deep crimson hue, pulsating veins of black coursing across its surface like rivers of power. Jagged, claw-like extensions tipped her fingers, and her eyes glowed with an unearthly light—a swirling fusion of crimson and electric blue. The organic crest that framed her face lent her an air of regality, tempered by a terrifying edge.

Eska took a step back, her voice tinged with awe. "That's…new."

"New is good," Wanda replied, her voice layered with the symbiote's resonance. She flexed her clawed hands, a low growl rumbling from within the suit. "Let's see if Hydra can keep up."

Eska tilted her head, her lips curving into a wry smile. "You look like something out of a nightmare."

"Thanks," Wanda said, turning toward the barricaded entrance. Crimson energy crackled around her fingers as she raised the Chitauri Scepter. "Now, let's give them something to be afraid of."

The resistance moved swiftly, their weapons at the ready, eyes scanning every shadow for signs of danger. Hydra had turned the residential district into a fortress, its streets patrolled by squads of soldiers and littered with automated defenses. The distant sound of machinery added to the oppressive atmosphere, a constant reminder of Hydra's stranglehold on the area.

Wanda and Eska led the charge, their presence galvanizing the fighters. As they approached the first barricade, a burst of gunfire erupted, the sharp staccato echoing through the streets.

"Here we go," Eska muttered, raising her rifle and firing back. Her shots were precise, taking out two soldiers before they could retreat.

Wanda raised a clawed hand, chaos magic surging forward in a wave of crackling crimson. The barricade shattered, sending debris and Hydra soldiers flying. She stepped through the wreckage, her symbiote tendrils lashing out like whips. One soldier was yanked mid-run and hurled into a mounted turret, which exploded in a shower of sparks.

Eska ducked behind a wall, firing at a group of operatives attempting to flank them. "I've got the left side. Think you can handle the rest?"

Wanda turned, her suit shimmering with energy. "Do you really need to ask?"

"Just making sure," Eska said, rolling her eyes as she reloaded.

Hydra reinforcements spilled into the street, their movements coordinated and relentless. Wanda surged forward, her symbiote-enhanced speed turning her into a blur of crimson and black. She leapt onto a soldier, her claws slicing through his weapon like it was paper. Another aimed a grenade launcher, but a tendril shot out, wrapping around his arm and yanking him off balance.

"Fracture, behave," Wanda muttered as the symbiote prepared to devour the soldier.

**"I'm just tidying up," Fracture replied, its tone mock-innocent. "Think of it as recycling."**

Wanda groaned, tossing the soldier aside with a flick of her wrist. "You're a glorified garbage disposal."

**"And yet, you keep feeding me,"** Fracture quipped with a chuckle.

Eska's voice crackled through Wanda's commlink. "Maximoff, less flirting with your symbiote, more fighting."

Wanda grinned. "Jealous?"

"Not in the slightest," Eska deadpanned, taking out another soldier with a burst of gunfire.

The resistance fighters pressed forward, dismantling traps and turrets as they advanced. Hydra's forces fought with calculated ferocity, but the resistance's determination refused to falter. As they reached a narrow alley, the sound of heavy artillery filled the air, forcing the group to scatter.

Wanda scaled a nearby rooftop with ease, her symbiote claws digging into the surface. From her vantage point, she spotted the children's holding facility at the end of the district. It was surrounded by layers of defenses, including turret nests and heavily armed guards.

"We're close," Wanda called down to Eska. "The children are just ahead."

Eska nodded, her voice steady despite the chaos. "We'll need to take out those turrets first. Can you handle it?"

"Do you even have to ask?" Wanda replied, her tone teasing.

"Fair point," Eska said, ducking as a grenade exploded nearby.

Wanda launched herself from the rooftop, her tendrils propelling her toward the turret nest. The Hydra operatives manning the guns barely had time to react before she landed among them, a whirlwind of claws and chaos magic. She tore through the machinery, dismantling the defenses with brutal efficiency, while her magic sent the soldiers scrambling.

"Turrets are down," Wanda called out, turning back to the resistance fighters. "Move up!"

Eska led the charge, her looted armor deflecting a burst of gunfire as she provided cover for the advancing troops. Hydra's forces regrouped, forming a defensive line near the children's facility.

"This is it," Eska said, her voice grim. "We take them out and get those kids to safety."

Wanda nodded, her symbiote suit pulsing with energy. "Let's finish this."

The final approach was brutal. Hydra unleashed everything they had, from drones to heavy weaponry. Wanda and Eska fought side by side, their combined strength carving a path through the chaos. Eska's rifle barked with precision, while Wanda's symbiote-enhanced attacks tore through Hydra's defenses like a storm.

"They're throwing everything at us," Eska muttered, taking out a drone with a well-placed shot.

"They're scared," Wanda replied, slashing through a squad of soldiers with a fluid motion. "And they should be."

The children's facility loomed ahead, its gates reinforced with steel. Wanda raised the Chitauri Scepter, its golden tip glowing. With a focused burst of chaos energy, she blasted the gates open, revealing rows of frightened children huddled together.

"We're here to help," Wanda said, her voice firm yet gentle. "Stay low, and we'll get you out."

Eska and the resistance fighters moved quickly, securing the area and escorting the children toward safety. Wanda stayed behind, scanning the perimeter. Her commlink crackled.

"Wanda, we've got movement. Hydra's regrouping."

Wanda's eyes narrowed. "Let them come."
