Warhammer 40k : Starting as a Primarch

Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Uploaded on HeartNet

Gris walked out of the room with excitement. He wanted to head to the factory immediately and start building the new fleet.

He recalled Duke's unusually bright eyes during their conversation just now, as well as the overwhelming conviction in his demeanor.

In that fleeting moment, Gris was reminded of meeting the Emperor in the distant past.

"Perhaps this is divinity?"

Thinking of this, Gris—a man whose body had undergone extensive mechanical modifications—couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle.

Shaking off these stray thoughts, he quickened his pace.

However, he didn't head directly to the foundry.

Constructing an interstellar battleship was a monumental task. To complete the fleet as quickly as possible, he needed to coordinate with various other departments.

In the room.

Dukel, who had achieved initial results in his spiritual practice, posted a message on the HeartNet:

[Mind Training Technique: Wildfire] will be officially available on the HeartNet in two hours.

Practicing this technique will enhance your self-control, improve information processing capabilities, and help resist subspace corruption.

Stay tuned!

After posting the message, Dukel logged off the HeartNet.

The sudden announcement caused a wave of excitement across the network.

Within the HeartNet's communication channel:

"Praise humanity for developing technology to resist subspace corruption! The end of those heretics is near!" "Mind training? Is it something like meditation?" "Improving information processing and enhancing self-control could have a massive impact on combat." "Could this HeartNet be a trick of the evil gods?" "Unlikely. The corruption of the evil gods would never feel this... gentle." "Let's wait and see. It's only two hours."

Time passed slowly.

Currently, only tested warriors, proven to be the most loyal to humanity, could enter the HeartNet.

The promise of resistance against warp corruption was too tempting for them. After all, no one wanted to fall under the evil gods' influence and turn their weapons against their comrades.

For these warriors, the wait felt excruciatingly long.

At his desk, Dukel continued refining the mind training technique.

"I remember reading a novel in my previous life that mentioned spiritual practice," he mused.

"If I borrow that novel's framework as a reference, spiritual practice could be divided into levels: Subconscious, Concentration, Fetal Breathing, Meditation, and Manifestation."

He thought further, comparing it to his current progress.

"Subconscious... Yes, reaching a state of 'freedom and extreme intention' where one can process vast amounts of information subconsciously and even influence great sages like Gris. This should be the third stage of the subconscious level. I'm only a step away from achieving Concentration."

Dukel organized his thoughts, dividing the subconscious level into three stages:

First Stage: Assistance through drugs or self-suggestion to enter a subconscious state. Second Stage: Entering the subconscious state easily, without assistance. Third Stage: Remaining in a subconscious state at all times.

The first two stages allowed deeper mental development—faster information processing, stronger willpower, and the ability to self-hypnotize—but without exceeding ordinary mental limits.

However, the third stage brought qualitative change. Remaining in a subconscious state at all times allowed rapid growth and accumulation of spiritual energy, even enabling interference with others' thoughts.

Dukel returned to the HeartNet and uploaded the technique:

[Uploading Mind Training Technique: Wildfire]

[Ding! Upload successful.]

A notification rang across the network:

[The Lord of HeartNet has uploaded: Mind Training Technique – Wildfire (Subconscious Version)]

More than 500 HeartNet members received the alert simultaneously.

Although these warriors were humanity's most loyal, Dukel hesitated to grant them techniques without cost.

While he hoped the HeartNet members would grow stronger quickly—eventually becoming an elite force capable of decimating enemies—he realized a need for balance.

Unlike Guilliman, who wielded the Emperor's flaming sword, Dukel believed demons couldn't be truly slain. They could only be destroyed in the material realm and banished to the warp—a temporary solution.

Dukel's ultimate goal was far more ambitious: to lead a legion united through the HeartNet into the warp itself and overthrow the demons' lairs.

But providing free access to advanced technologies lacked proper motivation.

"It seems a reward mechanism is necessary," he thought.

He envisioned a trading system using points as currency to circulate resources within the HeartNet and encourage participation.

"Points can be earned through daily sign-ins and tasks," Dukel planned. "Sign-ins ensure even weaker members can earn points steadily, while missions promote enthusiasm among the stronger ones."

Dukel imagined issuing missions to his legions before every battle, their progress visible in real-time.

However, he realized most Space Marines experienced small-scale skirmishes more frequently than large battles.

"Perhaps a real-time monitoring system could reward points for eliminating aliens," he mused.

After hours of planning, Dukel put down his pen. Fatigue briefly flickered in his eyes.

He hadn't rested for days and couldn't ignore the toll it was taking on him.

"The HeartNet still feels too small," he muttered.

With that thought, his spiritual energy expanded outward.

In an instant, the entire city appeared in his mind. Among the countless individuals, he located a nun deep in prayer.

Using his psionic power, he sent her a message:

"Efilar, come to my study."
