Wendy And Her Mafia Lover

Chapter 76: 75. Chelsea's Death

"Condolences..."

"We're sorry for your loss..."

"Please stay strong for your family..."

"I hope she rested in peace..."

Everyone was saying those things, Some cried yet the people that lost Chelsea remained silent on the corner.

Knight and Callie remained silent in the corner looking at the coffin where Chelsea is in it.

Callie can't dare speak to her father after all she knew how badly her father wanted to be with his mother.

Chelsea's body got weakened because of child birth that causes her to have an incurable illness.

Even if Knight doesn't say anything Callie blame herself for being born into this world.

She take a walk into the park as she stumble upon Zachary. "Hey..." Zachary greeted her yet she just smiled sadly.

"You looked pale, Are you okay?" He asked. Zachary was around her neighborhood since Target wanted to take a quick sneak on how is Knight doing.

"No, My mother just died." She answered as Zachary smiled sadly. "I see, I'm sorry for your loss. If you want someone to talk to I am quiet free right now." He said as Callie nodded.

"Ahhh Jayden give it to me! That's mine." Zackeeyah exclaimed as Zachary knew that they are about to come. He grabbed Callie's hands and run away with her.

In the cool evening air atop the city's tallest tower, Zachary and Callie stood side by side, bathed in the warm glow of city lights sprawling endlessly below.

The stars above seemed dim in comparison, as if bowing to the brilliance of the cityscape. For a long moment, they were both silent, lost in the view and their own thoughts.

Then, almost in a whisper, Callie spoke, her voice soft yet carrying a weight that Zachary could feel.

"My mom... she passed away because of me," she began, eyes fixed on a distant point in the horizon.

"She died because her body got weakened after giving birth to me. And for so long, I've lived with this sense that I'm responsible. That if I hadn't been born, she'd still be here having that healthy smile."

Zachary turned toward her, his brows knitted in empathy, his heart tightening. He reached out, gently taking her hand in his, grounding her as the memories poured out.

"Callie, it's not your fault," he said softly. "Sometimes life is... unbearably unfair. But you're not to blame for what happened."

Callie took a shuddering breath, her eyes glistening as she looked up at him, seeking comfort in his gaze. She hadn't opened up like this to anyone before, but something about Zachary's quiet strength made her feel safe.

He squeezed her hand, pulling her just a bit closer. "Your mom loved you. She would be so proud of you, Callie. I know that."

With his words and the city lights shimmering around them, a weight began to lift from Callie's shoulders.

'But my Dad looked miserable. Even with me around.' Callie said to herself as tears began rolling down her eyes.

In the Shiba's house. Target change her appearance into a blond woman looking at Knight from afar.

"My poor beloved brother..." Target whispered to herself as Halix was beside her.

"Aren't you going to go see him?" Halix asked as Target clenched her fist.

"I can't..." She said firmly. "Then let's just try meet him at the funeral." Halix said as Target nodded.

Target found out that Zachary was missing yet his location was just around the subdivision as he looked at the tower where Callie was walking outside next with Zachary.

"I'll be going now, Please take care of yourself." Zachary said as Callie nodded and walked back to her house.

"Zachary..." Target started as Zachary looked at her. "Please stay away from Callie, You know what a Mafia Boss kid could do to a innocent people's life right?" Target asked as Zachary smiled.

"You don't need to worry about that Target. Are you done with your work here? Let's eat." He shrugged the idea off as Zackeeyah and Jayden looked at each other.

"Do you think Zachary liked that young girl?" Zackeeyah asked Jayden as Jayden nodded.

"Probably, I never see him actually cared for someone." Jayden said. 'Especially if that certain someone is Kali's Daughter.' Knight thought as he looked at Target who's been quiet the whole time.

Rain poured heavily over the quiet cemetery, the sound muffling Thalia's soft footsteps as she approached her brother, Kali. He stood by the freshly covered grave, his shoulders hunched and trembling under the weight of his grief.

Callie left to see the Head Chief as Kali was alone on his wife tombs.

"Kali," Thalia said gently, her voice barely rising above the storm.

Kali stiffened at the sound, his fists clenching at his sides. Slowly, he turned, his face a mix of sorrow and anger, the rain blending with the tears streaking his cheeks.

"What are you doing here, Thalia?" he demanded, his voice cold and biting. "This isn't your place."

Thalia flinched but held her ground. "I came to see you. To comfort you. You just lost her, Kali… you don't have to go through this alone."

He laughed bitterly, shaking his head. "Comfort me? You? Don't pretend you care, Thalia. You shouldn't even be here."

Her expression hardened, though her eyes betrayed her pain. "I'm your sister, Kali. I do care. Just because my life is… complicated doesn't mean I've stopped being your family."

"That's exactly why you shouldn't be here!" Kali snapped, his voice rising. He stepped closer, his grief twisting into fury.

"You think I don't know what your presence could bring? Do you even care what could happen if someone sees you? What this could mean for Callie?"

Thalia's jaw tightened, but her voice remained steady. "I would never let anything happen to her. Or to you."

"You're part of the Mafia, Thalia!" Kali spat, the word laced with venom. "Your world destroys everything it touches. I already lost my wife, I'm not going to lose my daughter too!"

A meter from them there was Zade, Wendy, Aaron and Halix watching the siblings.

"Knight had been harsher lately to Target." Wendy said as it shows in Target eye's how badly she was hurt by what Knight is saying to her face.

Thalia's chest ached, but she refused to retreat. She reached out, placing a tentative hand on his arm. "Kali, atleast let me be your sister, I wanna be with you in this pain. For her. For you. I'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe, even if it means staying away. But I couldn't stay silent today. I couldn't let you carry this alone."

"This is the alternative life of the person who wanted to live a peaceful life away from murders." Aaron said as he remembers what Mary wanted yet they're work doesn't allowed a weak partner.

It was raining hard as both of them were soaking wet.

Kali stared at her, his anger warring with the sibling bond they once shared. Finally, he pulled away, his voice breaking. "You shouldn't have come. Just… go, Thalia. Please."

Thalia's hand dropped, her heart heavy. She took a step back, her own tears mixing with the rain. "I'm sorry, Kali. For everything."

As she walked away, her silhouette fading into the storm, Kali turned back to the grave, his voice a whisper. "I just can't lose anyone else."

Halix immediately get Target as she cried in his arms.

"What should I do now Halix, My brother doesn't want me anymore. I don't have anyone other than the Reyes. I just want him to look at me as his sister again." Target cried as Halix touched her face.

"Shhh, it's okay baby. Let's make our own family okay? Where we can be together without anyone pushing us aside." Halix said as Target smiled at him and gave up on escaping Halix grip.

'It's been ten long years already. Halix already waited enough for me.' she thought as she nodded at Halix.

"I'll be your family, I'll take good care of you. So don't cry anymore." He pleaded as Wendy cried in the car seeing Target and Knight situation.

"I guess we cannot do anything with their relationship but respect Knight's decision." Aaron said as Wendy nodded.

"It's just that it must have been so hurtful for Target to deal with all of this especially when she only have Knight as her family and now he's pushing her away." Wendy said as Zade gave her a box of tissue.

"Say Babe, You've been emotional lately." Zade said as Wendy looked at him.

"You get so needy to me too. You also wanted sweets in a lot of ways. You've been craving unusual things and getting tantrums on unusual stuffs." Zade explained as Wendy tries to remember it.

"What are you trying to say now Zade?" Aaron asked as Zade sigh and looked at Wendy who was confused too.

"What I'm trying to say is are you pregnant?"

Zade asked.

"EHHHHHHHHHH?!!!!!!"
