Chapter 33: CHAPTER 32
Everyone's heads turned to the door as the doorbell rang, then turned to the clock. Sharp ten.
Annabelle quickly went to open the door, and they all heard his voice. "Hi, I'm Mr King, Mr Croven is expecting me."
"Yes, he is. He's waiting for you, please follow me." The maid led the man in a dark grey suit to the living room.
"You must be Mr Taylor King," Patrick stood up to shake his hand. "Please take a seat.
"Thank you," Mr King replied, as he looked around at each and every one in the room.
"You have met Trinity and Tyrone," Patrick began, as Taylor sat. "These are their friends, Martha, Esmarald, Emeralda, Stacey, and Dr Elise." Everyone said their greeting, and Annabelle came in with coffee. She put the tray on the table and disappeared.
"I hope you don't mind their presence...," "Not at all; as a matter of fact, I had wanted to meet them all," Taylor replied. "Since we all know why we're here, let's get to the point. What happened to Eric and his friends?"
The air in the room became tensed, as they did not know what the reaction of their guest would be after listening to them. My King's intense look wasn't helping either.
"Trin?..." Patric said, nodding towards Mr King. She knew what he meant.
"It all began after we showed the dragon lord the video of the knights dragon... as we believed it to be... flying towards the castle. Our training became so intense that many were sent to the clinic. That is when Eric and his friends were dragged to the training arena by the guards who were told to watch the borders..." She took a sip of her coffee. She continued the rest of the story, giving as much detail as she could, and her friends joined in, where needed, explaining the situation.
As the story continued, they watched Mr King, his face expressionless. It was hard to tell if he was angry or not.
"... and that is when we decided to find you and seek your help," Tyrone completed the story.
"How did you find me?" Taylor asked.
"Through me," Dorin said, as she came in with some snacks.
He looked up, and his expression changed. Eyes wide, he said, "Dorin? What are you doing here?"
"This is my house!" Dorin replied, taking a seat next to her husband.
"Wh...I thought you were married to Tristan... no... no... Tr...Try.. " "Triyast," Dorin helped out. "Yes! Triyast! So... what happened?"
"Wait! Are we missing something here?" Trinity asked her mother in a confused tone.
"We went to the same school. He knows I'm a witch..."
"Did you know we were talking about him!"
"No. I would have told you if I'd known. He was known in school as Tyler. I always thought that you were looking for a woman," Dorin said teasingly.
"Oh, stop it. That's the reason I went by that name," Taylor said, smiling. "It was a spelling error that landed me with this name."
"You knew my father?" Trinity asked, looking at Mr King.
"Same school. Where is he now? He didn't come?"
There was an uncomfortable silence. "He was killed by that same black dragon,"Trinity said slowly. "That filthy good for nothing nightmare killed so many innocent people in the name of the knights dragon. We were led to believe that you were the monster when, in fact, the monster was right in front of us." She stared at Mr King with eyes full of tears. "We just want him to die." The air suddenly began getting warm, than hot.
"Triyast was a dragon?" Taylor asked, surprised. "I went to school with a dragon and didn't know?" He was talking more to himself.
"Calm down!" Tyrone whispered into his mates ear. "There's a knight sitting right here."
"I want to see Eric," Mr King said. This sudden change in topic made Trinity calm down.
Dorin led Mr King to the makeshift clinic. He stood there looking at his brother. "Why didn't you take them to an actual hospital?"
"And tell them what? Dragons attacked them?"
Mr King left shortly after, without telling them if he'd help or not. The rest of the day went very slowly, with everyone thinking the same thing... what will happen? Will the greatest knight help them win this war, or will they be forced to confront the oldest, most powerful dragon on their own.
"What's that on your finger?" Derek's sudden exclamation made every head turn toward Trinity. The night was quiet, and everyone was at the dinner table, barely eating. Derek had also finished his homework and was eating because his mom had made it a rule that he can only play his video game after finishing his dinner and homework.
"Did Tyrone propose?" Dorin asked, holding her hand before she could hide it.
With that, she was bombarded with questions, "When..." "How... " "Why didn't you tell us..." "Congrats!..."
"Ok,... ok, calm down everyone!," Trinity said. "He proposed yesterday, while we were returning home after meeting Mr King." She smiled as her mind raced back to that afternoon. She quickly glanced towards Tyrone, and saw that he was smiling as well, which made her blush even more.
The mood at the table lightened as Patric walked in with bottle of Cheval blanc 1947. Annabelle followed with a tray of wine glasses. Everyone cheared, and Derek ran off to play video games.
The soft music playing in the background made the atmosphere even more romantic as they all spoke about the couple.
A spoon banging on the glass silenced everyone as all heads turned to Esmarald. "I have known this young man ever since we were in diapers. He has a clean record, no girlfriends, no dates, and no bad habits... he didn't even look at another woman, but eversince this young lady walked into his life, he looked happier and more content," he said raising the glass towards Trinity. "I wish you both have a life of the golden and silver dragons," he continued. Everyone cheared. Trinity's confused looked at Tyrone compelled him to tell the story every young dragon had heard.
"There's a story about two different colored dragons who fell in love. One, the golden dragon came from a very wealthy family while the silver dragon came from a very poor family. They fell in love and conquered so many obstacles, got married and lived happily ever after. Now whenever a dragon proposes, and are to get married, we say that line,as a good luck."
When it was time for bed, Dorin reminded Trinity that if she feels any thing strange while sleeping, she should wake her up, because since she'll be turning eighteen, she will get her witch powers at any time.
