Who is the Lady of the Night

Chapter 4: Order of Balance

She stood at the gate of Solarian Orphanage taking in greedy breaths of the already tainted air of the lower districts.

The gate huge and black with the logo of the sun signifying it's ties to the order of the sun with intricate designs.

Bang! Bang! She knocked

Dressed in her usual white healer attire and her hair flowing back freely up to her back and simple moderate heels she looked stunning and finishing the look with her bag.

The huge gate opened with large creaking sounds as it was drawn back by the Watchman at the gate

"Is the father around?" She asked politely letting out an aura of elegance and innocence her green pupils craving and adventure

The old Watchman at the gate wearing the official armour of the order and with the emblem of the sun, truly this was the territory of the order. But Elara only had one goal it was to meet.

Father Eamon Crestfall

Elara had known him ever since she was young. She would always come to the Orphanage to meet him and he would in turn give her advice while teaching her about the teachings of the sun about Solarious

He is in his mind 50s

A kind-looking, middle-aged man with a weathered face, graying hair, and soft, warm eyes. He dresses in simple white robes, adorned with small sun emblems around the cuffs. He carries a wooden staff with a sun-shaped symbol carved into the top.

Always teachings the children at the Orphanage as long as Elara can remember

His official title was Confessor of the Sun's Flame, Chief Priest of the Solarian Orphanage

And occasionally preaching at the Cathedral Of Radiance.

---

Elara remembers the first time she stepped foot in the orphanage after the tragic death of her father a renowned devout of the order of the sun.

Father Eamon was the first person to greet her upon her arrival the very next day after the final rites of her father had been performed.

Which has a very large emotional impact since her father died while on duty in the wild lands.

In Valemount people are not naturally buried due to the fact that there is the existence of the ley line spread all over hence The order has always been cautious about with anybody found burying their loved ones a death penalty would be ordered.

Although this information is not known to the general public the commoners in the lower districts have know idea about this.

What do they do about this?

Easy peasy this usually when one is nearing the end of the their lives or wants to end their life they usually go to the wild lands which is on the east side of Valemount and are said never to return ever.

Nobody knows what goes on there.

---

Tap! Tap!

As he cames out of his study.

The soft 'knock' of his wooden staff hit the ground softly even though Father Eamon was not old he liked to walk slowly always exuding elegance which powerful matched his mind nature.

His gaze meets with Elara who is standing patiently for him to get out of his study.

"Elara...." He stopped trying to collect his thoughts "What had brought you here?" He continued.

Elara who was patiently standing leaps with joy and hugs Father Eamon excitedly.

"Father I have really missed you you know." Elara said.

"But you are the one who does not come to meet meet me, these days during prayers you are not even attending services at the Cathedral of Radiance anymore anything wrong?" Father answered back while gently parting her back as she held onto him.

"Today I came to see you because I have a question" she responds

"What is it?" He asks

"Am sure you have had a lot of experiences especially in the order..." She hesitates while looking down already letting go of Father Eamon

"I know that the order is usually very tight lipped in regards to whatever it does to outsiders." She continues.

"Yes. It seems you are already aware of that since you have been here ever since the death of your father." Father Eamon replies

"I have been having dreams.... Well.... You can call them visions.... Strange visions." Elara finally opens up.

"What is this about." Father Eamon asks.

"I see places I have never been to and people I do not know. Like yesterday I dreamt that I was a subject of which a ritual that was being conducted on me.... Then suddenly I was in a certain room constantly repeating the same the some things about 'The order of the balance' in a certain room then child came in running to me calling me mother.... Like.... What was that?" Elara explains with much enthusiasm.

"Mhmm. Order of Balance you say?" Father Eamon replies looking deep in thought while rubbing his chin slowly.

"Yes that was what I came here to tell you about. I wanted to ask you what is or what was the order of the balance?" Elara asks

"Elara it seems you are becoming more and more curious about certain things these days, even though I would have really loved to help you that is classified and dangerous information which I myself do not know much about it" Father Eamon with a sharp tone replies to Elara's question of curiosity.

"What? Classified information? Dangerous? What is wrong about knowing something I've never had about? And you are someone of high status in the order of the sun obviously you can tell me something about it." Elara continues.

"No!!!" Father Eamon snaps as he bangs the office desk with clenched fists which also freaks Elara.

"Why!?" Elara regains her composure and also stands reacting in equal manner as Father Eamon reacted while staring straight into Father Eamon's grey pupils.

"Sigh. Elara, you know that I have always considered you my daughter ever since your arrival here at the Orphanage and I've given you more freedom than your fellow peers. But know I will not let you involve your self in the affairs and secrets of the order since it is dangerous. I want you to keep this information to yourself and not tell anyone. But if you still want to get yourself involved in this make sure you get aquintented with the order and uncover their secrets. Now leave." Father concludes.

Elara takes a deep breath while her eyes are closed and speaks

"Father you have never spoken in this tone with me ever but now you have finally done it isn't it but this is a very important and pressing matter to me so yes I will get to the bottom of this and discover what this order of Balance was and know the reason why I have been experiencing these strange visions, I will take my leave know." And with that she picks up her bag and walks in frustration to the wooden doors and closes them with a bang!

Father Eamon sits down on his office chair in frustration "Elara your curiosity will be your end." He tells himself
