You’re Supposed To Be The Villain, But You Effortlessly Win Over The Female Leads?

Chapter 31:

Chapter 31:

Jiang Jiandang felt a sudden wave of panic. How did Jiang Feng find out he had consulted a lawyer? The unsettling feeling in his chest grew stronger with each passing second.

Before he could react, the second recording began to play. This one was clearly a private conversation.

“Hello, I’m Jiang Jiandang. I came in for a consultation earlier today.”

“Hello, Mr. Jiang. How can I help you?”

“I want to ask if there’s any way to gather evidence of my wife’s affair. If I can prove it, will the court reduce the 200,000 yuan mortgage payment I owe?”

Jiang Jiandang’s voice on the phone sounded desperate, his urgency clear. The recording ended abruptly.

The room fell into a stunned silence.

No one could have predicted such a shocking turn of events. What was this?

Just moments ago, everyone had assumed Jiang Feng was the one in the wrong. Some had even believed He Minglang and Jiang Jiandang’s explanations, thinking maybe Jiang Jiandang really had only consulted a lawyer out of curiosity.

But now, with this final piece of evidence, Jiang Feng’s “Thor’s Hammer” was undeniable.

Even those who had previously felt sympathy for Jiang Jiandang couldn’t defend him any longer. His actions were just too much.

The pity they once felt for him was quickly replaced with disgust. Had he been taking advantage of people’s kindness all along? It was revolting!

The online comments reflected the public’s outrage:

[This is so disgusting!]

[How can Jiang Jiandang, of all people, come on this show and beg for reconciliation? Aunt Song works three jobs just to support the family, while he spends all his earnings on charity and leaves nothing for them. And now, when his wife can’t take it anymore and wants a divorce, he has the nerve to consult a lawyer to avoid paying for the house? It’s sickening!]

[I’m so ashamed of myself for feeling sorry for him earlier. I thought he was a good man, but I was completely wrong.]

[Jiang Feng is amazing for having the courage to push his mother to get a divorce. Most kids wouldn’t have that kind of strength.]

[I admire Jiang Feng, too. It’s heartbreaking to think that at his age, he’s more focused on protecting his mother than anything else. He even told her he’s grown up now. What a storm of emotions!]

The tide had turned completely.

Everyone now saw Jiang Jiandang for who he really was—a selfish man hiding behind a mask of false kindness. His so-called “benevolence” was nothing but a sham.

Even Song Lin, who had silently endured for so many years, was far kinder than him. She never opposed his decision to spend all their money on charity and had taken care of her family with dedication. And now, she only wanted a divorce because her son had been forced to donate bone marrow. It was just too much!

The disgust was apparent.

Even the show’s director was speechless. They had seen plenty of scandals and rotten behavior in the entertainment industry, but this was a new level of idiocy. Jiang Jiandang wasn’t just neglecting his wife and son—he was spending all their money on others. No normal person would do something so foolish.

As Jiang Feng’s revelations unfolded, He Minglang knew his reputation was destroyed. People now viewed him as being in the bag with Jiang Jiandang. Even from his spot on the stage, he could hear the audience muttering insults in his direction.

“I don’t trust that guy next to him either.” Someone grumbled.

“Right? I’m furious for Jiang Feng. After taking so much money and bad-mouthing Jiang Feng, how does he even have the nerve to stand there?” Another added.

The crowd was furious.

The host’s smile stiffened as she struggled to maintain composure. Forcing a weak attempt at control, she said, “Let’s all calm down. Peace is what matters most. Why don’t we listen to what Mr. Jiang Jiandang has to say?”

But Jiang Jiandang was drenched in sweat, unable to speak. What could he possibly say to defend himself now? He had been thoroughly exposed.

Before Jiang Jiandang could attempt an explanation, Jiang Feng turned to Li Xin and smiled. “I’ve watched this show before. The episode I saw was about a college student who had been abducted.”

Li Xin’s heart skipped a beat.

She now realized she had underestimated Jiang Feng. He was sharp and methodical, delivering blow after blow with precision. He wasn’t just an ordinary kid.

Panic started to set in.
