Reiji quietly closed the door, let out a heavy sigh, and walked back to the living room.

The air felt empty, as if the silence that had followed Reiji since his meeting with Karina still lingered in that space.

Reiji glanced at the pile of books, scrolls, and scattered documents on the table.

Without much thought, Reiji sat down and began to open the first book, immersing himself in its thick text.

As Reiji's eyes started to glide from line to line, his focus shifted to a topic that had long troubled him: Fuinjutsu.

This complex and mysterious sealing technique had always fascinated Reiji, even though it was not easy to master.

Reiji diligently began to study the basic concepts of Fuinjutsu, trying to understand every symbol and theory present.

However, in the midst of his learning, a voice echoed, interrupting Reiji's concentration.

"Why are you doing all this?" the voice of Yamata-no-Orochi sounded, coming from within Reiji, with a tone that was hard to interpret—like astonishment mixed with something darker.

Reiji paused for a moment, then lifted his gaze from the book he was reading, trying to find meaning in the question.

"What do you mean?" Reiji replied, his face revealing his confusion.

"Why do you want to become stronger so quickly?" Yamata-no-Orochi continued, with a deeper and more questioning tone.

Reiji was silent for a moment before finally exhaling and giving an answer he had long thought about.

"Even though this body is not mine, and even though I know we have forcibly taken over this body, I want to repay the previous owner of this body..."

"I want to help the people who come from the same place as the previous owner of this body."

"That is the reason why I want to become stronger—faster."

"I want to show that I appreciate this body, the body that was given to me by the previous owner." Reiji's voice sounded full of determination.

"After all, you also inhabit this body, Orochi. So, I hope you can help me from now on," Reiji continued slowly, looking back at the book in front of him, even though his words were directed at the creature residing within him.

For a moment, there was no sound, only a pressing silence.

Suddenly, Yamata-no-Orochi roared loudly, the voice of Yamata-no-Orochi shaking the walls.

"Hah?! What did you say?" Yamata-no-Orochi shouted, angry and incredulous.

Reiji merely smiled faintly, his face revealing a bit of satisfaction at Yamata-no-Orochi's reaction.

"Orochi?" Reiji said playfully, deliberately worsening the atmosphere.

"You! How dare you call me that!" Yamata-no-Orochi's voice sounded louder, full of hatred.

Reiji grinned mischievously, his eyes sparkling. "What? Isn't that better? After all, your name is too long—Yamata-no-Orochi."

"Why not shorten it? I could call you Yamata, or even shorter, Yama. No! Yama sounds too weird. Just Orochi!" Reiji chuckled softly, clearly enjoying the reaction from within himself that was starting to grow impatient.

"You damn human! How dare you call me that!" Yamata-no-Orochi roared again, the voice of Yamata-no-Orochi filled with anger that was growing, as if ready to explode at any moment.

"Why? After all, your name is too long! It's better to shorten it, right?" Reiji said with a faint smile, clearly enjoying the annoyance that was beginning to show on Yamata-no-Orochi's face.

"Bastard! Damn human! Never call me that!" Yamata-no-Orochi snorted with a face that looked very upset, the voice of Yamata-no-Orochi like the rumble of thunder ready to explode.

"Why, Orochi? Isn't it much easier to remember?" Reiji continued to tease in a light tone, enjoying every reaction that came from within Yamata-no-Orochi.

Yamata-no-Orochi grew increasingly frustrated. "You don't understand! That name is something sacred! Never change my name at your whim, lowly human!" Yamata-no-Orochi shouted, the voice of Yamata-no-Orochi filled with rage.
