Abandoned Young Miss Gu (Arch-enemies transmigrated into a novel)

"Hahaha. Miss, what do you think old Madam Gu and other Gu family members do about their robbed treasures?" Yang Xumei laughed as she curiously asked Gu Yanyan about Gu family's next move.

"Hmph. Whatever they'll do, what it had to do with us?" Gu Yanyan sneered and put down her chopsticks.

"We just have to wait for the right time to escape from this prison and live a happy and carefree life outside." Looking around the room and outside, Gu Yanyan said.

"Yes miss." Yang Xumei too excitedly said as she grabbed a bunch of stir fried vegetables between her chopsticks and put inside her mouth. "Mmmh. And then we'll eat meat as much as we want." While chewing Yang Xumei didn't forgot to remind Gu Yanyan about the poor lifestyle they were living inside Gu Residence, even their food was only a bowl of porridge and leafy vegetables or green beans. Only on festivals they could eat meat and even that when they would threaten nanny Jin by force.

'Really bad life.' Yang Xumei internally lamented as she chewed her green vegetables.

"Don't worry my good Xumei, once we free from this damn Gu Residence and Gu family, I promise, I'll feed you the most delicious food from this era and let you live the most luxurious life as long as I'm alive." Gu Yanyan patted Yang Xumei's shoulder with her little hands as she make big promises.

And Yang Xumei also bowed her head in gratitude acknowledging her master's promise.

"I believe you miss."

On the other side of Gu mansion;

Two rows of of men and two rows of women were standing left and right side of the yard in An Shui hall. There heads lowered and back straight. Their hands were clapsed in front of their stomach, they stood their as they waited for the next instructions from their masters.

"Mother, I've asked each of them, but nothing useful was found." Gu Tianhao shook his head as he answered back to old Madam Gu about his interrogation with the guards and servants from the Residence, inside and out.

"Yes, mother. They all said the same thing; they didn't saw anything unusual." Gu Tianshui seconded his younger brother's words.

"The servants who were responsible for cleaning the storehouse and two Madam's private vaults, said when the cleaned the room yesterday afternoon, everything was there as usual and nothing was missing but today morning everything was gone. It only means one thing; the thievery happened in just one night. But how can a thievery on such a big scale could happen without anyone's knowing? Not one or two but three. Three vaults were emptied in just one night, without anyone's knowing." Gu Tianhao recounted what he found out from the servants in his investigation.

"When we questioned the guards who were responsible of guarding main storehouse and other two madam's private vaults, they all said, they never saw anyone or anything approaching the door, it means they didn't entered the room by door." Gu Tianhao further continued.

"But if they didn't entered the vaults by door then how?" Madam Shen dying with anxiety couldn't help but ask in the middle.

Hearing her asking, everyone's gaze went on her.

Finding everyone's gaze on herself, specially both Gu brothers who were yet to finish their words, Madam Shen become flustered and waved her hands in embarrassment, asking them to continue in their conversation.

After staring at her, everyone again turned their heads towards old Madam Gu as both Gu brothers continued with their reports they had found from their interrogation.

"What my madam asked is a valid question." Gu Tianshui approved Madam Shen's point and nodded at her.

Thrilled with her husband's appreciation, Madam Shen immediately turned towards Madam Yun to show her proud smirk on her face.

"Hmph." Madam Yun scoffed at Madam Shen's proud peacock like face and turned towards her husband.

"Will there be some hidden door or some underground tunnel which lead outside world inside our Gu Residence without alarming any guards or servants in the Residence?" Madam Yun lowered her voice as she asked in a mysterious voice. Her eyes widened and her hands flew to her mouth in fear as she imagined that scenario.

Even madam Shen couldn't help but gasp at that possibility and looked at old Madam Gu and two Gu brothers for confirmation.

Old Madam Gu narrowed her eyes in thought while two Gu brothers also stroked their chin as they thought of such possibility.

"We can't rule out such possibility. I think we should let authorities know about the thievery, even though it will be shameful to let others know about the thievery that happened inside Gu Residence and they will laugh at our low quality security but I can't think any other good option other than this." Gu Tianhao said and looked at old Madam Gu for her opinion.

"What you said is only right. As people say; The work suits in the hands of the one skilled to do it. Inform the authorities and let them find out how this thievery happened and who did this?" Old Madam Gu said and others nodded at her.

Same day in the evening, six officers from criminal bureau appeared at Gu Residence after Gu Tianshui and Gu Tianhao made reports at the bureau.

Six officers searched for two days and two nights non-stop and even asked for more people from bureau but they couldn't find any secret door or any underground tunnel which connected outside world to inside of Gu Residence and allow outsiders to enter Gu Residence without anyone alarming in the Residence.

"We apologise for our incompetence, old Madam Gu, minister Gu, but even after searching these two days and two nights, we can't find any secret doors or underground tunnel." The leader of criminal bureau officers stepped forward and apologized for not being able to solve the case.

"As your per your guards and servants words, no one entered house without their noticing that night and as per their words, thievery happened only that night." Leader officer shook his head and said "Either your guards and servants are lying or there is a mole in your house."
