Abandoned Young Miss Gu (Arch-enemies transmigrated into a novel)

Chapter 65: Chapter 65) Madam Yun's empty vault

"N-no. No. It can't be. It- it can't be." Madam Yun muttered under her breath as she turned and run away towards her own courtyard.

Old Madam Gu and other exchanged a look at Madam Yun's strange behavior before following her. Even Madam Shen was confused at Madam Yun's behavior so putting her crying over her lost treasures on pause, she too followed old Madam Gu and others to see what Madam Yun was up to.

Stumbling and falling, Madam Yun managed to make it to the door of her own private vault.

Her palm sweaty and her face almost colourless because of anxiety. Sweat beeds forming at her forehead as she fumbled with the lock on the vault's door.

Click.

Finally managed to unlock the lock, Madam Yun heaved a sigh of relief. But before she could manage a smile on her colourless face, the anticipation of what was going to happen once she opened this door, shackled her heart, making her almost breathless.

"Second daughter-in-law, what are you doing? Why you ran like that?" Old Madam Gu who just catch up with Madam Yun, saw Madam Yun being statue in front of her private vault's door and asked her about her strange behavior.

"Yes, Madam. Why are you running like that? Not caring a bit about your manners and etiquette. Even if you wanted to come here, you could have walked here slowly as you usually do. What would other servants think after seeing the mistress of the house running around forgetting her manners?" Gu Tianhao, who still hadn't understood the gravity of the situation, pointed his finger at madam Yun chastised her for forgetting her manner and running around all the way from Yuansong Courtyard to Tingsong Courtyard.

Hearing them criticizing her for running around so brazenly, Madam Yun felt her scalp tingling.

She was already dying with anxiety at what awaited behind the door and these fools were only adding more fuel in the fire.

Seeing her not responding to his words and even ignoring his questions, Gu Tianhao too felt enraged and put his hand on Madam Yun's shoulder as he shook her violently.

"Where are you lost? Why are you not responding to either of our questions. Be it mother or me, we are asking you something."

Being violently shaken by Gu Tianhao, Madam Yun's patience only greeted thin and she finally yanked Gu Tianhao's hand off of her shoulder and pushed the door open in front of her and went inside to let others see inside too.

"Ha. Ha. Hahaha." Madam Yun first scoffed at the sight in front of her and then started laughing as she slumped to her knees in the empty private vault of hers.

"Why are acting so strange today?" Standing outside, when old Madam Gu heard Madam Yun's strange laughter, she frowned and asked in disdain.

But Gu Tianhao and Gu Tianshui were quick to their feet and immediately entered the room.

Looking at the empty sight in front of them, they instantly knew what was wrong with Madam Yun.

Madam Shen also helped old Madam Gu and walked inside Madam Yun's private vault.

Her gaze wandered around the totally empty vault.

Her eyes couldn't help but shine at the sight and her lips turned up in a smile.

She instantly forgot about her loss in front of Madam Yun's loss.

At least she still had her dowry untouched but for Madam Yun?

Madam Shen snickered internally at Madam Yun's misery.

"Aiya. This- how could this happen?" Madam Shen feigned her heartache as she looked at the loss Madam Yun had suffered.

"I- I thought only mine and mother's vault was robbed but I didn't know that even second sister-in-law...." Madam Shen trailed off with her words. Rest of the sentence was left for imagination.

Madam Yun could hear mockery in Madam Shen's words but she knew better than engaging any bickering with her right now.

Since everyone had seen empty vault of both mistress, they knew it was not work of these two.

Old Madam Gu asked housekeeper Jing to help her to the An Shui hall.

Other members of Gu family also followed old Madam Gu to An Shui hall.

Inside the An Shui hall;

"What do you think of this incident?" Old Madam Gu looked at her two sons and asked.

"What is there to think mother? It's as clear as day. It's robbery." Gu Tianhao was first to speak.

Old Madam Gu nodded at her second son and looked at her second son to hear his opinion.

"I also think same as second brother, mother." Gu Tianshui said when he felt his mother's gaze on himself.

"But the question is how?" Gu Tianshui looked at his younger brother and raised question.

Even though Gu Tianshui was two years older to Gu Tianhao, when there would be any major situation, Gu Tianshui was used to seeking his this younger brother of his for advice or suggestions.

"That's something even I can't decipher." Gu Tianhao shook his head in resignation as he supported his head with his hand.

While two brothers were talking calmly, old Madam Gu and her other two daughter-in-laws were going crazy in anxiety.

It's true that men only care about their status and reputation in the society while women die for gold and silvers.

"Should we seek help from authorities?" Madam Yun suggested.

"We would but after interrogating our servants and guards. " Old Madam Gu replied.

"Yes. Mother is right." Gu Tianhao also seconded old Madam Gu's decision.

"First we should interrogate our servants and guards and only after we can't find any clues on our own then we'll move to authorities. Even though it would be shameful to involve authorities for a case of robbery. I don't think we have another way to find out what is going on and how this happened with such a high security around our house." Gu Tianhao said as he massaged his head.

"It's really a tricky situation."
