Another World Fluffy Cafe

Ch67 - Joint Request

Chapter 7: Joint Request

“Ahh, what a lovely day today.”

Taichi stepped into the backyard of the café and stretched his arms wide.

Next to him, Cerberus was playfully rolling a ball around, looking incredibly adorable. Ume and Ruby were seated on a bench, seemingly deep in conversation.

Today, he planned to head to the Tamer Guild to accept a request. The fluffy café was closed for the day.

He wanted to take it easy on his rare day off, but he also wanted to fulfill any requests while he had the chance, especially for his rank-up.

“I never thought I’d be taking requests just to relax…”

Life in this other world was certainly demanding.

As Taichi considered taking Luke with him to the Tamer Guild, he heard a voice calling, “Hey!”

Turning around, he saw Grizz, Nina, and Aruru approaching.

“Ah! Good morning!”

They were a party of adventurers and regulars at the fluffy café who had become enamored with it.

While they sensed Taichi’s exceptional qualities, they preferred to overlook them, wanting to enjoy their peaceful visits to the café.

Grizz, who had a small and cute love for animals, often frightened others due to his tough appearance. The fluffy creatures at the café didn’t mind, and he took pleasure in being adored by them.

He was a front-line swordsman, equipped with heavy armor.

Nina was full of energy and absolutely loved fluffy creatures.

After visiting the café, she had indulged in so many delicious treats that she had to go on a diet, yet she remained slender and in great shape. She looked great in her orange bandana, playing the role of a rear-line hunter.

Aruru had a tsundere attitude but secretly loved fluffy creatures.

Usually, she would visit the café with the other two, but she was known to come alone, indicating her genuine love for fluffiness. She was a rear-line mage, holding a staff adorned with red jewels.

Taichi stepped out of the backyard and wondered why these three were here, knowing it was a day off for the café. Was something up?

“Sorry for intruding on your day off.”

“No, no. Is something the matter?”

It seemed they had some business to discuss.

“Well, since we’re just standing here, why don’t you come inside?”

“Yay!”

As Taichi opened the café door, Nina jumped with joy, thrilled at the chance to interact with the fluffy creatures, even on a closed day. Grizz shot her a disapproving look, but Nina just stuck her tongue out and laughed.

Taichi prepared café lattes and snacks for Grizz and the others while they enjoyed the company of the fluffy creatures, no doubt feeling completely relaxed.

“So, what’s going on?” Taichi asked.

“Actually… it seems our party and you, Taichi-san, are going to take on a request together,” Grizz replied.

“Eh?”

Taichi was taken aback by the unexpected news. He hadn’t heard anything about this from Shalti—though he hadn’t been to the Tamer Guild yet today, so it was possible he just hadn’t received the message.

“We just heard about it a little while ago and haven’t formally accepted it yet…” Grizz continued.

“When I heard about a request with you, I just couldn’t sit still and had to come!” Nina added.

So it seemed Nina’s excitement about visiting the café was a big part of their reason for coming.

Nina had slyly placed a Berry Rabbit on her lap, and Aruru had both a Berry Rabbit and a Forest Cat at her feet.

It appeared that Grizz and the others had come to discuss a joint request with Taichi.

(I see.)

However, Taichi hadn’t considered working on a request with anyone else.

While it would certainly be fun to have adventures with friends, Luke’s strength was extraordinary.

(How many times have I seen Shalti’s surprised face since I started taking requests…?)

But since Grizz and the others were acquaintances, it felt a bit rude to turn them down. More importantly, they were looking forward to taking on the request together.

“What kind of request is it? If it involves intense fighting, I’m a bit hesitant…”

“Ah, no, that should be fine,” Grizz replied.

He was about to mention Luke’s combat prowess but held back, explaining the details of the request.

“This request is actually a collaboration between the Adventurers Guild and the Tamer Guild.”

“This isn’t something that happens often, but Taichi-san is rumored to be an amazing tamer!”

“Well, if it’s with you, I wouldn’t mind collaborating,” Aruru added.

The request involved an ecological survey from the forest to the mountains.

The goal was to investigate the state of monsters and plants, checking for any abnormalities.

The party composition would primarily consist of adventurers focusing on combat with monsters, alongside a tamer and an alchemist, making a three-party structure.

The tamer was expected to tame several monsters and verify any changes or fears through conversation.

The alchemist would assess the status of medicinal herbs and their habitats.

“So, my job would be to tame the local monsters and gather information from them… right?” Taichi asked.

“That’s the gist of it.”

Listening to the details, Taichi nodded. It made sense that he would be called upon for something like this as a tamer.

(A survey from the forest to the mountains… I wonder if I might encounter some new fluffy creatures?)

He couldn’t help but feel a sense of anticipation.

“The content sounds fine, but what about the duration? If it’s too long, I have the café to manage…”

If he suddenly left for an extended period, it would inconvenience Himeli, who was helping with the café.

On the other hand, depending on when the request began, hiring additional help could be tricky.

“We’re estimating about a week for preparation,” Grizz explained.

“A week, huh…? For now, would it be alright if I consulted Himeli before giving a response?”

“Of course. Just so you know, there aren’t many tamers in this town, so it would really help us if you could take it on.”

“Got it.”

According to Grizz, they had often gone without a tamer before.

Since he couldn’t provide an immediate answer, they decided to disperse for today.
