Chapter 3: Chapter 3 – Yukino’s Embarrassing Moment
Saeko Busujima: "60 is already a lot. I only got 58 points, but it seems like I don't have the ability to enhance anything."
Camera girl: "Boohoo, I only have 60 points too."
Water Goddess: "Why do I only have 10 points? I'm a Water Goddess!"
Apple pie: "@Tatsuki, can you tell me who created this chat group?"
Tatsuki: "I was just invited in and immediately made the administrator. As for the group owner, I've never seen them."
Saeko Busujima: "An unknown entity created a chat group connecting all worlds? That's an interesting thing. But how can we confirm that we're not from the same world?"
The others remained silent, clearly pondering the same question.
After a moment of thought, Tatsuki spoke.
Tatsuki: "I do know some basic information."
Tatsuki: "Saeko Busujima, a student from Fujimi Academy on Earth; Exusiai, from Terra, a Laterano citizen and Penguin Logistics employee; Aqua… the dimwitted goddess."
Tatsuki: "As for you, @Camera girl, to be honest, you resemble March 7th, but I'm not entirely sure."
Camera girl: "Hey, hey, hey! Camera girl is March 7th! I'm just saying, am I really this famous in other worlds?"
Tatsuki: "I might be an exception. March 7th is a passenger of the Astral Express and a Trailblazer."
Tatsuki: "That's all I'll say. Don't ask about my sources. It's complicated, and I don't feel like explaining. You can judge the truth of the information yourself."
After saying that, Tatsuki made a swift exit.
No way was he going to stick around and get bombarded with questions.
He couldn't exactly tell them that their identities came from characters in anime and games he'd seen or played.
That kind of explanation wasn't worth the effort.
He had only revealed a little information.
It was better to maintain some privacy between people.
If someone suddenly claimed, "I know everything about you," wouldn't you find it frightening?
Most importantly.
Who knew if the other worlds were really as described in anime or games?
In these situations, the less said, the better.
Now, his thoughts returned to his own world's problems.
For instance, how could he ever kill off all the malevolent spirits?
Despite having killed so many, he understood clearly: malevolent spirits couldn't be eradicated.
Why? Because eliminating malevolent spirits counted as interfering with the apocalypse, and each one he killed earned him points.
So, he had diligently hunted malevolent spirits.
But because he had killed so many, he realized.
The malevolent spirits would never stop appearing.
In this area alone, he had killed an uncountable number of them, yet there were always new ones.
Alright… this was a problem with no solution.
"Forget it, time to sleep!"
When faced with unsolvable problems, lying down is always the best option!
…
"This is so strange. I can't say a word about the Apocalypse Chat Group."
March 7th propped her face up with her hands, looking troubled.
She wanted to share details about the Apocalypse Chat Group with others, but no matter what she tried, she couldn't get the words out.
The same issue occurred with Exusiai.
"Exusiai, what's wrong? You're acting so weird today."
Croissant poked Exusiai's side.
"I…"
Exusiai hesitated, starting and stopping several times.
She collapsed weakly onto the sofa.
Having a secret and being unable to say it out loud—it was unbearable!
…
Everyone else tested the chat group in their own ways.
Tatsuki, however, simply slept through the night.
He woke up, got dressed, brushed his teeth, and washed his face.
Boiled an egg, drank a warm cup of milk, and leisurely made his way to school.
…
The second-year, Class 1 of the general high school—it was his classroom.
"Ohayo, Tatsuki-kun!"
As soon as he sat at his seat, his desk neighbor Yui Yuigahama greeted him.
"Ohayo, Yui."
Tatsuki naturally responded in the same way.
"Hehe."
Yui smiled happily.
Greeting Tatsuki every day was the highlight of her morning.
Poke, poke.
Someone tapped him twice on the back.
"What's up, Megumi?"
Tatsuki turned around to see the short-haired girl, Megumi Kato.
Megumi didn't mind being addressed by her first name.
She pointed with her pen tip to the back right and said softly, in a calm and quiet voice, "Someone's been staring at you."
"Hm?"
Tatsuki followed her gaze.
"!!!"
The gaze immediately wavered and avoided his.
"Oh."
It was Yukinoshita Yukino.
Just a brief meeting of their eyes caused Yukino's ears and cheeks to flush intensely.
Her mind naturally drifted back to the scene from yesterday.
"What did you do to Yukinoshita-san?"
Though it was a question, Megumi's expressionless face didn't show any curiosity.
"Nothing, we just happened to meet yesterday."
After saying that, Tatsuki stopped looking at Yukino and instead complimented Megumi.
"Your hairclip looks really nice today."
"I think it's no different from usual. Oh, the teacher's here."
Megumi pointed toward the door.
Tatsuki immediately turned back. After all, he was a law-abiding citizen and a diligent student!
After he turned around, Megumi raised her hand to touch the pink hairclip, her lips curling into a faint smile.
Tatsuki-kun always notices me.
