As Homelander In Multiverse

Chapter 103: Chapter 103: A Simple and Honest Town

While Azur was locked in a fierce battle with Superman on the desert sands, Lin Ada finally woke up in her room at the small-town motel.

Stretching lazily, the girl groped for her sunglasses on the bedside table and slipped them onto her face. Picking up her white cane, she began to navigate her way to the bathroom.

The motel's single room was small, barely enough to move around, but Lin Ada had already familiarized herself with the layout the night before.

Reaching the bathroom effortlessly, the sound of running water soon followed.

After brushing her teeth and washing her face, she tried calling Mr. John in the room next door.

No one answered.

"Mr. John must still be asleep," Lin Ada murmured.

"It's his first time 'sleepwalking.' Maybe he's not used to it yet."

"Better not disturb him."

Deciding against it, Lin Ada turned her thoughts to a relaxing bath.

It was one of her few indulgences.

She headed to the bath, turned on the water, adjusted the temperature, and laid out the fresh clothes she had brought from home.

Piece by piece, she removed her clothes. Morning light streamed through the window, gently illuminating her porcelain-like skin, soft and flawless, with fine, translucent hairs shimmering faintly in the light breeze.

The silhouette of her figure cast a graceful shadow on the bathroom walls, which moved as she stepped toward the tub.

Splash.

As Lin Ada eased into the steaming water, the perfectly warm temperature made her every pore relax in delight.

She let out a contented sigh, put on a pair of headphones, and began enjoying her music while unwinding. Resting her head on a towel draped over the edge of the tub, she gently swayed her head to the rhythm of the tunes.

---

Meanwhile, at the motel entrance, chaos was breaking loose.

The front door swung open with a crash as a fully armed squad burst in, startling the cleaning lady sweeping the lobby.

Before she could scream, a soldier covered her mouth while an officer stepped forward, presenting his credentials.

"I'm Colonel Ryder. A dangerous terrorist is hiding in your motel. We are conducting an operation."

"Please evacuate immediately."

"Rest assured, the government will compensate you for all damages."

After delivering his orders, Colonel Ryder motioned his team forward. Soldiers stormed up the stairs without hesitation.

As the colonel relayed his findings to the Pentagon, General Achille issued an immediate directive: capture Target No. 2.

Leading his men, Ryder barked instructions as they ascended.

"Listen up! The target's danger level is unknown."

"Though the primary objective is capture, I authorize the use of lethal force if the target resists!"

Just as they rounded the final staircase to the third floor, everyone froze.

A figure stood in the hallway above—a woman dressed in a circus acrobat's costume. Balancing atop a large ball, she waved cheerfully before kicking the ball toward the soldiers.

Colonel Ryder didn't hesitate. Drawing his sidearm, he fired.

Bang! Bang!

The gunshots echoed as the ball exploded midair, scattering debris across the stairwell. But by the time the dust settled, the acrobat had slid down the handrail.

In one swift motion, she flipped midair and extended a long, elegant leg in a spinning kick.

Wham! Wham! Wham!

Several soldiers were sent tumbling down the stairs.

"Move in!" Ryder shouted, fearing the noise might alert the target. Raising his pistol, he fired again.

The bullet struck the woman square in the chest, a spray of red mist exploding outward as she plummeted to the floor below. But when Ryder peered over the rail, the woman's body had vanished.

"What the hell...?"

The colonel's disbelief barely had time to register when a rush of air behind him prompted him to duck instinctively. A leg swept just past his nose.

Looking up, he saw another acrobat descending—identical to the first. Upside down, she balanced on her hands atop the railing, moving toward him with unnerving speed.

More figures emerged—four, five, six acrobats, each identical, as if cloned.

Watching them approach, Ryder felt a chill race up his spine.

---

At the end of the hallway, soldiers had already reached Lin Ada's room. They prepared to breach the door when the wall behind them exploded.

A massive figure barreled through the debris—a towering, two-meter-tall stone giant.

With a swipe of his massive hands, he knocked soldiers aside like ragdolls, tossing some clean out the windows with a single motion.

Gunfire erupted as the remaining soldiers scrambled to their feet, unloading their weapons into the behemoth.

The stone giant shielded his head and chest with his arms as bullets chipped away chunks of his rocky frame. He roared, lifting his foot to kick, sending the soldiers tumbling down the stairs like bowling pins.

---

Below, Colonel Ryder, now disarmed by yet another acrobat's kick, grabbed a nearby light machine gun and began firing indiscriminately.

The hallway echoed with gunfire as two acrobats crumpled to the ground. Yet more bodies rained down from the stairs above, bowling over Ryder in a chaotic heap.

"Call in reinforcements!" he roared into his radio.

"We're under attack! Repeat, under attack!"

---

Amid the pandemonium, Lin Ada remained blissfully unaware.

Still soaking in her bath, she finally decided the water had cooled enough, and her skin felt sufficiently pampered. Rising from the tub, she dried herself off, dressed, and stepped out of the bathroom.

As she removed her headphones, a knock came at the door.

"Who is it?" she called, moving toward the door.

A familiar voice answered, "It's me, John."

"Little Lin, are you awake?"

"I met some new friends. They want to take us into town for a bit of sightseeing."

Opening the door, Lin Ada greeted him with a bright smile.

"Mr. John, you're amazing. We only arrived last night, and you've already made friends by morning!"

Standing in the doorway, Azur returned the smile.

"People here are very warm and welcoming."

His gaze drifted to the hallway.

Behind Lin Ada, the once pristine corridor was now riddled with cracks, bullet holes, and shattered plaster. Spent casings littered the ground, gleaming dully under the light.

Taking it all in, Azur added with a straight face:

"The locals are simple and honest folk. There's absolutely nothing to worry about."
