Ascension of the Monster Queen

Nessa looked at the king as he came to them and a smile appeared on her face, then he grinned as he walked past her and they walked with him since he was heading to the dining hall to eat breakfast with the others as well.

"Good morning, you two," The king said.

"Good morning, your highness," Both of them replied and Nessa glanced at him then he smiled at her.

"How soon exactly is this next test?" She asked.

"Curious are ya?" He asked and she nodded then he chuckled.

"Today or tomorrow, who knows," He responded and her eyes narrowed, then a smile appeared on her face.

'He is not going to give me a direct answer, but that's a good thing,' She thought and the king sighed then looked out the windows that they passed by.

"Is something the matter?" Nessa asked.

"There are a lot of things to think about from here on, who knows what may happen now, plus there are the council members that will be here soon, I just hope that we don't get any problem from their end..." He responded and her bros furrowed as she thought about Kurson then she sighed.

'I sincerely wished that you were not that caught up in this Kurson, your little girlfriend as well, damn it...' She thought as she clenched her right fist and the demon glanced at her.

"Your Highness, tell me, your true thoughts on the council members, the one that controls the underlings and certain things that happen, can you?" The demon asked and Nessa glanced at him as did the king and a smirk appeared on the king's face as he looked at the demon.

"Hmm, are you the only one that wants to know that?" The king asked and the demon grabbed onto her hand then raised it up in the air and she looked at him.

"Hey..." She said and he scoffed then released her hand and the king sighed.

"I see, so she wants to know as well, I will tell you both, so far everything that I have said about them, I meant it, you know that right?" He asked as they were nearing the dining hall.

"Yeah, we know that much," The demon responded.

"Good, then I will tell you more when you take a look at them yourself, but a warning, not all of them can be trusted, people in power... Terrible things can happen if one is doing something wrong and you try something, do you understand me?" He asked and Nessa smiled at him.

"Yeah, we understand, then we will take a look for ourselves and expect your answer later on, also, do you at least have a choice for the candidates?" Nessa asked and the king sighed.

"Maybe or maybe not, we will see later on, I have to make a choice soon as well, I am getting old you know," He responded as they entered the dining hall and everyone greeted each other.

They sat down and took their food, after which they began eating since they had to greet some of the council members who would be arriving soon as well.

A little while after, when they finished, eating, Nessa and the demon left the dining hall and that's when she saw how busy some of the servants within the castle were and her brows furrowed, knowing that the members would be arriving shortly and just as she was lost in her thoughts.

Someone tapped Nessa on her shoulder and she turned around and saw that it was the princess, the girl smiled at her then greeted her a good morning and Nessa did the same.

"I am sorry we couldn't train again after that, I know I asked you to help me and I am just not getting the time," She said and Nessa smiled at her.

"Hey, relax a bit, it's fine, there is no need to apologize for anything, I didn't call on you as well because I thought you might be busy, you are just doing your duties there will be time," Nessa replied and the girl smiled at her then nodded and Nessa scoffed.

"You are right, there will be time for us to train, ugh... I almost forgot they will be arriving soon, if only I..." The princess mumbled then stopped and Nessa glanced at her and she smiled nervously then Zack sighed and Nessa patted her on her shoulder.

"Go and prepare for your guest, we will be there soon," Nessa said.

"Ah, yes, sorry about this, Nessa," She replied then rushed off with the knight following her and Nessa sighed.

"Suspicious things are already happening you know, from the day you first walked in here, your instincts might be right," The demon said and she glanced at him.

"Did you find out something again?" She asked and at the same time, she sensed one of the wolves and her eyes narrowed.

"What is it?" He asked.

"One of the wolves is here, damn it," She responded and he sighed.

"You cannot let people see you talking to one either, not yet at least," He said and she nodded then walked away and he followed her and both of them went into his room then he closed the door behind them and the wolf appeared.

"My lady," He said and Nessa smiled.

"Did something?" She asked.

"I came to tell you that last night, someone came here dressed in all black and went to meet someone not far beside the castle," The wolf responded then she glanced at the demon.

"He is right, I saw the same thing as well, it happened just before you woke up last night," He said and she sighed.

"Did you perhaps see a face or anything that could be of use?" She asked as she looked at both of them.

"Not me, I couldn't get too close but it was someone from within the castle, something may happen after all," He responded with a smirk.

"I will keep looking, we caught on their scent even if it may be a little mixed," The wolf said and Nessa nodded then he disappeared and she remembered the name she was told by the one she and Sai had fought and her brows furrowed.

The demon was about to go say something else to her but at the same time, there was an announcement about the council members arriving and Nessa's eyes narrowed.
