Chapter 10:

Chapter 10: Feng Qianqian’s Showdown—”I Am a Rich Girl”:

When Lin Keqing returned home after work, she saw Feng Qianqian trying on several new dresses.

Each dress was of exceptional quality, with exquisite craftsmanship and elegant designs. Even though Lin Keqing wasn’t familiar with luxury brands, she could tell these dresses were expensive.

“Sissi, these dresses are so beautiful,” Lin Keqing said, her admiration evident.

“Of course they are! Each one costs tens of thousands of yuan!” Feng Qianqian replied, her tone filled with pride.

“So expensive?” Lin Keqing gasped, looking at Feng Qianqian with confusion. She had known her friend for years and had never seen her spend money so extravagantly before.

Noticing Lin Keqing’s puzzled expression, Feng Qianqian immediately remembered her “uncle’s” warning to keep their relationship a secret. She quickly concocted an explanation.

“Keqing, I haven’t told you this before, but my family is actually very wealthy,” Feng Qianqian said seriously. “They just used to restrict my finances while I was studying. I was angry about it, so I decided to work hard on my own. But reality hit me hard. Now, I’ve decided to accept my family’s arrangements and prepare to start working at Qingling TV Station.”

Lin Keqing, trusting her friend and being naturally honest, believed her without hesitation. “You’re going to work at Qingling TV Station? Sissi, I’m so envious of you!” she said with genuine admiration.

Feng Qianqian’s vanity was thoroughly satisfied.

During college, she had always been overshadowed by Lin Keqing, but now she felt like she had finally surpassed her—at least in one aspect. Even if her new lifestyle was tied to an unspoken “transaction,” she didn’t feel like she had lost anything.

After all, Wang Zhenxing’s conditions were exceptional. Not only was he wealthy, but he was also extraordinarily handsome. He was the type of man any woman would be proud to call her boyfriend, even without considering his immense fortune. And the fact that he was willing to spend money on her made it even better.

“Keqing, I’m planning to resign from my job at the hotel tomorrow. You should quit with me,” Feng Qianqian suggested suddenly, remembering her “uncle’s” instructions.

Lin Keqing sighed. “Sissi, you’ve already found a new job, but I haven’t. I think I’ll keep working as a waitress until I find something better.”

“I saw a job listing today that might be perfect for you,” Feng Qianqian said, putting an arm around her friend’s shoulder affectionately.

“What job?” Lin Keqing asked eagerly.

“Zhenxing Group is hiring a secretary for the president. You majored in business administration, so it’s directly related to your field,” Feng Qianqian explained.

“How could I ever get that job? I’m just a fresh graduate,” Lin Keqing replied hesitantly.

“It doesn’t hurt to try. You won’t lose anything by submitting your resume. And if you’re still worried, you can wait until you get hired before quitting your job at the hotel,” Feng Qianqian encouraged her.

“The position of secretary to the president… it feels a bit risky,” Lin Keqing murmured, recalling dramatic depictions from TV dramas.

“Come on, stop overthinking things! The president of Zhenxing Group is Wang Zhenxing, the famous diamond king! Do you think someone like him would resort to those kinds of tactics? He has no shortage of beautiful women throwing themselves at him, so why would he bother with you?” Feng Qianqian scolded her, hands on her hips.

Feeling embarrassed, Lin Keqing nodded. Feng Qianqian’s words made sense. She had met Wang Zhenxing before, and he didn’t seem like that kind of person. Plus, with his wealth and status, he could have any woman he wanted.

“Alright, I’ll submit my resume and give it a try,” Lin Keqing said, heading to her room to prepare her application.

After organizing her resume, she opened her laptop, found the Zhenxing Group’s official website, and submitted her application. With that done, she prepared to shower and rest. However, Feng Qianqian was still in the bathroom and hadn’t come out yet.

In their shared apartment, there was only one bathroom.

Lin Keqing had no choice but to wait.

After about ten minutes, Feng Qianqian finally emerged, wrapped in a bath towel.

“Sissi, are you okay? You’re walking funny,” Lin Keqing asked with concern.

“The bathroom floor was slippery. I accidentally twisted my ankle,” Feng Qianqian explained.

“Is it serious? Should I get you some medicine?” Lin Keqing offered.

“No need. I already have some,” Feng Qianqian replied. She had actually bought medicine earlier that day, but not for a sprained ankle.

“Do you need help applying it?” Lin Keqing asked again.

“No, I can handle it,” Feng Qianqian said quickly.

“Alright,” Lin Keqing said, heading into the bathroom. After a few minutes, Feng Qianqian suddenly entered without warning, startling her.

“Ah! Sissi, knock next time!” Lin Keqing exclaimed, panicked.

“Sorry! I forgot something in here. Can you hand it to me?” Feng Qianqian said nonchalantly.

Lin Keqing handed her the item and scolded, “Seriously, the door doesn’t lock properly. You scared me!”

“Oops, my bad,” Feng Qianqian said with a smile before leaving. However, as she walked away, she discreetly snapped a few photos with her phone.

Back in her bedroom, Feng Qianqian opened her messaging app and sent the photos to a contact labeled “Uncle.”

At his mansion, a notification sound caught Wang Zhenxing’s attention. When he opened the message, he found several photos. The key areas were obscured, but the rest left little to the imagination.

“Isn’t this Lin Keqing?” he muttered, instantly recognizing her.

While he appreciated the view, he couldn’t help but feel surprised at how stunning she was. As expected of a heroine, her beauty was truly unparalleled.

“Why are you sending me these?” he typed, his tone curt.

“I thought you might like them,” Feng Qianqian replied. She had guessed that his request for Lin Keqing to apply for the secretary position had ulterior motives. Afraid of falling out of favor, she had taken it upon herself to try and please him.

“Don’t overstep. Do what I ask and don’t make unnecessary moves,” he warned sternly. While he appreciated the photos, he was worried that Feng Qianqian’s actions might jeopardize her friendship with Lin Keqing. If that trust was lost, so was her value.

“Yes, I understand. I won’t do it again,” Feng Qianqian replied, her hands trembling as she typed.

Not fully reassured, he sent another message: “Remember, if you reveal anything you shouldn’t, you’ll face serious consequences. I’ve already recorded a video of our ‘transaction.’ With a bit of editing to obscure my identity, I can release it online. You’ll be the one blamed and humiliated, not me. Understand?”

“Yes, I understand. I’ll keep my mouth shut!” Feng Qianqian responded hastily, her face pale with fear.
