At the Beginning, the Villain Is Secretly Loved by the Protagonist’s Mother

Chapter 9:

Chapter 9: Introduction to Work:

[The female supporting character Feng Qianqian’s favorability towards the host is +10, bringing her total favorability to 60 (admiration).]

[The host intercepts the admiration of Feng Qianqian, a supporting character in the protagonist Qin Yi’s plot, altering the direction of the plotline and earning 200 counterattack points!]

Wang Zhenxing’s exceptional appearance had already left a strong impression on Feng Qianqian during their first encounter, pushing her favorability to the “heartbeat” level of 50. After their subsequent interaction, it jumped by an additional 10 points, reaching admiration.

A well-known female writer once said there is a shortcut to a woman’s heart, and Wang Zhenxing found the statement entirely accurate.

As for the protagonist Qin Yi, his entanglement with Feng Qianqian wasn’t something Wang Zhenxing had initially considered. However, he realized it was plausible given Qin Yi’s charm and charisma. But now, that possibility was effectively eliminated—Feng Qianqian’s admiration had been intercepted.

With her admiration secured, Feng Qianqian could now be leveraged to carry out tasks that might not otherwise be possible. However, relying solely on monetary gifts to maintain their connection made him slightly uneasy.

The sun poured through the window as the day began.

Feng Qianqian opened her eyes sluggishly, her body feeling sore and exhausted. Turning to look at the pillow beside her, she found it empty.

He was gone. But on the bedside table, there was a check.

Slowly sitting up, she picked up the check and stared at the series of zeros following the number one. Her eyes widened in shock.

“100,000 yuan?”

She counted the zeros multiple times, each time coming to the same conclusion. It really was 100,000 yuan.

If she continued working her part-time job, it would take years to earn that much. And yet, he had casually left it for her.

Her phone buzzed with a message from him, sent early in the morning: “This is your pocket money for the month. Use it to dress yourself up.”

“Pocket money?” Feng Qianqian murmured, her emotions a mixture of surprise and elation.

It dawned on her that she hadn’t negotiated any specific rewards during their time together last night. She had been so overwhelmed by everything that she hadn’t even thought to discuss terms.

If he had chosen to act as if nothing had happened, there would have been nothing she could do. But thankfully, that wasn’t the case.

As she lifted the quilt, her eyes fell on a few faint marks left on the sheets.

Losing the purity she had preserved for so many years left her feeling dazed. Yet, there was no regret in her heart.

She lay back down on the luxurious hotel bed, savoring the moment for another hour before reluctantly getting up.

By noon, Feng Qianqian received another message instructing her to meet at a high-end restaurant. The private room had already been reserved.

She arrived early, deliberately avoiding any chance of being seen with him in public. As a renowned “diamond king” in Qingling, Wang Zhenxing’s reputation meant he was well-recognized.

About half an hour later, he walked into the private room.

“Mr. Wang, you’re here,” Feng Qianqian greeted him nervously, unable to settle on a more personal title.

“Order whatever you like,” he said, handing her the menu.

“Oh… okay,” she replied, flipping through the pages cautiously. The prices startled her—the cheapest dish cost over a thousand yuan. Hesitant, she eventually settled on just two dishes.

Satisfied with her restraint, he ordered two more and pressed the call button.

A waitress entered to take their order, her gaze repeatedly shifting between the two of them. Recognizing Wang Zhenxing, she couldn’t help but glance at Feng Qianqian curiously, trying to piece together their relationship.

As she finished taking notes and turned to leave, Wang Zhenxing spoke.

“Wait a moment,” he said.

“Yes, sir. Do you need anything else?” the waitress asked.

“Would you like some red wine, niece?” he asked Feng Qianqian casually.

Caught off guard, Feng Qianqian quickly understood his intention and shook her head. “No, thank you.”

“That’s fine,” he said, dismissing the waitress.

After she left, he turned to Feng Qianqian. “Remember, you’re my niece, and I’m your uncle.”

“I understand… Uncle,” she replied, catching herself mid-sentence.

He nodded approvingly.

“Niece, I left in a hurry this morning and didn’t have time to discuss your future. Do you want to idle your days away, or do you want to realize your self-worth?” he asked, his tone probing.

“Of course, I want to realize my self-worth,” she answered earnestly. As a college graduate, she still harbored ambitions despite recent setbacks.

“Good. I have a connection at Qingling TV Station—a deputy director. I can introduce you there,” he offered, clearly pleased with her response.

Her eyes lit up with excitement. Working at a city TV station immediately after graduation was a dream she’d never dared to entertain.

“Thank you, Uncle!” she exclaimed, barely able to contain her joy.

During the meal, he casually shifted the conversation toward Lin Keqing. “Your friend Lin Keqing, what’s her major?”

“Business administration,” Feng Qianqian answered.

“And how is she academically?”

“She’s exceptional. She wins scholarships every year and even manages to send money home to her family.”

Hearing this, he nodded thoughtfully. It aligned with the characteristics of a heroine—beauty, intelligence, and capability. Lin Keqing’s expertise in business administration made her an ideal candidate for a secretary. If she worked directly under him, it would open countless opportunities to influence her.

He continued to ask questions about Lin Keqing, and Feng Qianqian, eager to please, shared everything she knew.

After the meal, they both went upstairs to rest. The restaurant offered luxurious accommodations, and he took full advantage of it.

[The female supporting character Feng Qianqian’s favorability towards the host increased by 5, bringing her total to 65 (admiration).]

Before leaving, he gave her a parting instruction.

“Good niece, I have a small task for you. If you do it well, I’ll give you 500,000 yuan as pocket money,” he said with a sly smile.

Still dazed and overwhelmed, Feng Qianqian nodded eagerly. For her, this was an opportunity she couldn’t afford to miss.
