Avatar: Tower Master

Chapter 21: Chief's on board

Walking through the Northern Watertribe I was amazed at their architecture. Everything I looked at was intricately carved from snow and ice. Even if bending helped, this place was still an amazing feat of construction.

"Sarak your back?" someone approached us.

"Not right now, I have immediate news for the Chief" Sarak replied, pushing past him.

A few more people approached and questioned Sarak, but he just kept pushing past them leading me deeper into the city.

"This is quite the place; I did not really comprehend how ice and snow could build this, but this is amazing" I commented.

"I am glad you like it," Sarak said, smiling. "I would love to show you around, but I think that I should speak to the Chief first"

"I understand, but I would like to see the place later"

"Of course,"

We soon arrived at the palace for the Chief and his family. The place was beautiful, with separated floors each having a roof sticking out, some even had balconies. We walked up the steps and Sarak quickly dealt with the guards, soon having us enter through the front. The inside was just as beautiful with the walls here having carvings and images representing various things. I thought I even saw Avatar Kuruk in there.

"The Chief is in his study right now, is this really that urgent?" A guard asked.

Sarak looked him straight in the eye "Yes it is, now excuse us"

Following him past the guard we walked through the halls until we came to an open office. Sitting at the desk was a man about forty five? Blue eyes, and shoulder length brown hair. He looked up immediately, opening his mouth then closing it.

Finally he said "Sarak, are you guys already back?" he asked, confused.

"It's just me Chief, the rest of the men are at the site" He responded.

"Then who is this next to you, I don't recognize him" Chief Arnook asked.

"That is one of the things we need to discuss," Sarak said.

"Alright then take a seat please" Chief Arnook said gesturing to two chairs in front of the desk.

Sitting on the cold chair I waited for Sarak to explain my presence, I could just drop the illusion but I think that would just startle him and make this take longer.

"Now, what happened, did you find the weapon the fire nation is using?" Chief Arnook asked.

"No sir, there was no weapon but there was something there" Sarak responded.

"Well then what is it?" Chief Arnook asked.

"Well, it started, we arrived at a new town and were greeted by an earth kingdom general and two fire nation delegates" Sarak started.

"You were greeted by these delegates? They didn't attack you?"

"No sir they did not, now it was the fifth person who was important" Sarak started explaining the whole of events. From arriving in the town to right before we left, eventually he got to the part where I took an illusion and came with them.

"And you are here to discuss what?" Chief Arnook asked me.

Dropping my illusion and ignoring the notification that popped up I said"I wish to discuss a possible agreement and alliance, where you can give some support"

"And what would this alliance entail?" Chief Arnook inquired.

"I wish to create an organization that is dedicated to managing and evaluating the people who enter my tower, this is meant to be a joint effort between all nations to avoid one having more influence than another"

"And you think that I would be interested in working with a nation that had been at war with the world for a hundred years" Arnook asked heatedly.

"It is not about working with them but about managing people gaining the power of the tower, plus this would only have any real effect in the town. In essence it's more like you working with me personally as even without you I would make this organization" I explained, looking him right in the eye.

Sighing he lowered his head a bit already exhausted from the heavy conversation.

"If you put it like that then I would have no choice" He explained.

"Sir, I think it is in our best interest to work with him. I have experienced the tower and participating in it ourselves would help to defend against the fire nation" Sarak interjected.

"As much as I don't want to agree right this minute, if the tower provides what you say it does then I need to agree now. For the benefit of my people" Arnook said.

"You will not regret this, Chief Arnook," I replied. "I don't mean to be rude but I don't really like being away from my tower so I will only stay a few more hours until I return. I would like to bring a liaison back with me to work with the other delegates making the organization"

"That can be arranged, for the meantime though I would ask that you keep up the illusion if you are going to be here, your appearance is quite different" He asked.

"I know, I have already had issues with that before" I said putting back up the illusion "I would like to wander around on my own though"

"That is fine, but wait here a second," he said.

Standing up Chief Arnook excited the room then came back a few minutes later with a small pouch.

"Here are some coins in case you need to buy something" He said, handing me the pouch.

"That is very generous, thank you" I replied taking the pouch "I will leave you two to discuss as there are probably more details Sarak would like to talk about"

"Yes. Thank you" Chief Arnook thanked.

Standing up from my spot I excited the palace, walking down the steps I leaned against the railing looking at my new notification.

[Notice! You have met delegators from all existing nation demonstrating your will to reach out to people: Quest creation granted]

The quest system allows you to assign quests and rewards to participants in your tower.

[Notice! You have seen three different types of architecture from different nations: building system granted]

The building system allows you to create your own architecture within your tower. This includes homes, roads, and even castles.

"Okay this is going to be interesting; I definitely have some ideas on how to use this myself" I said to myself.

For the next few hours, I wandered around the Water tribe meeting people and even having some food. I was even able to buy a full watertribe set of clothing. I know I could make some but handmade clothing is always better. Eventually a soldier came to grab me and led me back to the palace then to the study. Entering I was not surprised to see Arnook and Sarak but I was surprised to see a familiar face. Pakku was with them.

"Ahh, Tower Master Callum, welcome back" Arnook said.

Dropping the illusion I replied "Thanks, I have to say your tribe is quite welcoming, even the clothes feel welcoming" I gestured to the clothes I was wearing.

"Those look quite good on you" Arnook complemented.

"Thanks"

"Let me introduce you to Master…"

"Paku" I finished "Member of the white lotus and one of the most powerful waterbenders in the world"

"Yes… and he will be the representative of our tribe" Arnook explained.

"Interesting choice, I do have one condition though"

"And what is that?" Pakku interjected.

"I know that your tribe does not allow women to fight but in my tower, there is no such rule. I just ask that you do not let your bias interfere" I explained

Looking quite annoyed Pakku said, although reluctantly, "I can do that"

"Good, good"

"We also have some other items to take with you as well," Arnook said.

"Other Items?" I was confused.

Walking into an adjacent room I saw a pile of clothes, furs, clothes, weapons, and even some food.

"What is this?"

"Arnook told me that you have a growing market. I wanted to send some stuff for the soldiers to both use and sell" Arnook explained.

"Hmm, Good idea" I commented. "Now when can we leave?"

"I would like to organize my things and discuss with my students so hopefully in a few hours" Pakku said.

"I am able to wait two hours, I need to get back in case a problem comes up"

A few hours later after eating with the Chief and giving him some more information on the tower we all gathered back with the supplies.

"Are we all ready?" I asked.

"Yes" "Yes" the two men agreed.

[You are attempting to teleport more than yourself, price recalculated: 1,100 points]

"Here we go," I said.

The world flickered as we appeared in the middle of the town square, the growing trade almost dominating the plaza but as soon as people recognized me, they gave us a wide berth.

Deciding to name the town on the fly I spread my hands and said "Welcome to Gilded Spire"
