Although this area wasn't under any village's jurisdiction, it had long served as a sanctuary for the ninja cats who had once been allies to the Uchiha clan, providing them with intelligence and weaponry. Since the Uchiha clan's near extinction, the Empty Zone had been left forgotten, and only the ninja cats continued to reside there.

After traveling for more than a day, Furen and Shizune finally arrived at the Empty Zone.

Walking among the towering, desolate buildings, they were surrounded by an eerie silence that heightened the desolate atmosphere.

"This should be the place," Furen said, comparing the surroundings with the mission details. The coordinates led directly to Cat Granny's lair.

They entered one of the buildings and descended into its depths. As they moved deeper, green eyes started appearing in the shadows, watching them intently.

"These must be the ninja cats," Shizune said, her voice tinged with excitement.

Furen nodded and raised the mission scroll as a form of introduction.

"I am Furen, a Konoha ninja, here to accept Cat Granny's mission." The moment Cat Granny's name was mentioned, the previously watchful green eyes began to recede into the darkness.

"Meow!"

"Meow~"

Two distinct cries echoed as two cats, soundlessly padding on soft paws, appeared perched on a pipe overhead, observing them.

"Hello, Konoha ninja. I am Zai."

"And I am Tsui~"
