Becoming the Strongest as a Game Dev

As they made their way to Sam's workstation, Yuna couldn't help but feel a mixture of excitement and nervousness.

"So, um, do you already have an idea in mind for the C-Rank simulation?" she asked, her voice slightly trembling.

Sam glanced at Yuna, a thoughtful expression on his face.

"I've been tossing a few ideas around, but I'm curious to hear your thoughts first," he replied, gesturing for her to take a seat.

"What kind of projects have you worked on in the past?"

Yuna's eyes lit up as she leaned forward, eager to share her experience. "Well, I've created a few different simulations where Hunters can test out various weapons against monster targets. I've even designed the monsters themselves, studying their behaviors and weaknesses to make the battles as realistic as possible."

She paused, a touch of uncertainty crossing her features. "I'm not an expert, but I'd say I have a fair amount of knowledge when it comes to crafting these kinds of immersive environments."

Sam nodded, his interest piqued. "That's impressive."

Sam gestures to his workstation, a gleam of excitement in his eyes. "Yuna, your experience with creating immersive monster simulations could be exactly what we need for this project."

Yuna leans forward, her curiosity piqued. "What did you have in mind?"

"Well," Sam begins, "I was thinking of creating a simulation where Hunters can use a variety of unique weapons to hunt down truly formidable monsters." He pauses, gauging Yuna's reaction.

Yuna's brow furrows slightly. "Won't it just be the same as what Hunters already experience out there?" she asks, a hint of uncertainty in her voice.

Sam shakes his head. "Exactly, but the monsters we create will be unlike anything they've faced before." He leans back in his chair, a small smile playing on his lips. "I had the chance to experience life as a Hunter for a day, and I encountered this creature called a Drakkon. It was unlike anything I've ever seen."

Yuna's eyes widened in surprise at Sam's mention of the Drakkon.

"The Drakkon? That's one of the stronger creatures near the city. Only the experienced Hunters have a chance of defeating it." She paused, studying Sam with newfound respect.

"You must be quite skilled to have taken one on."

Sam raised a hand, a sheepish smile on his face.

"Actually, I didn't defeat it alone. I had the help of some other Hunters." He chuckled lightly.

"I may have bitten off more than I could chew there."

Yuna nodded, a thoughtful expression crossing her features.

"I see. Well, that's certainly impressive, even with assistance." She leaned forward, her brow furrowing slightly.

"But I'm not sure your idea for a simulation is all that unique. There are already a number of simulations out there that are similar to your idea."

Sam acknowledged her point with a nod.

"You're right; it does make sense that those kinds of simulations would already exist." He paused, a spark of curiosity in his eyes.

"But I'm curious, how exactly do these simulations work?"

Yuna perked up, eager to share her knowledge.

"Well, from what I've seen, the developers typically take real-world monsters and incorporate them into the simulations." She gestured to Sam's workstation.

"The Hunters have access to a wide variety of weapons, from regular firearms to magical swords and other specialized equipment."

She leaned back in her chair, a hint of pride in her voice.

"The simulations are designed to be as realistic and challenging as possible, pushing the Hunters to their limits."

Sam nods, a confident smile playing on his lips.

"You're right, Yuna. Most of the existing simulations rely on common monsters that Hunters have faced before." He turns to his workstation, fingers deftly grabbing a sketchpad.

"But I've got something much more unique in mind." With a few swift strokes, Sam begins to bring his creation to life on the page.

Yuna watches, her eyes widening as the creature takes shape. It's a fearsome wyvern, with crimson scales and massive wings that seem to fill the page. She leans in, captivated by the level of detail Sam has managed to capture.

"This is the Rathalos," Sam explains, his voice brimming with enthusiasm. "It's a creature unlike any the Hunters have faced before - a true apex predator of the skies." He pauses, gauging Yuna's reaction.

Yuna is speechless for a moment, her gaze fixed on the sketch.

"Sam, this is... incredible," she breathes, her fingers tracing the lines of the Rathalos. "How did you come up with something like this?"

Sam leans back in his chair, a confident grin on his face.

"I've got a pretty wild imagination, if I do say so myself," he says with a chuckle. "This Rathalos is just the start of what I've got planned for this simulation."

He gestures to the sketchpad, the Rathalos' crimson scales and fierce visage leaping off the page.

"The thing is, I don't have nearly as much knowledge about monsters as you do, Yuna." Sam's expression turns slightly sheepish. "I was hoping you could use your expertise to help make these creatures as realistic as possible."

Yuna's eyes light up, and she nods enthusiastically.

"Absolutely! I'd be more than happy to help bring these monsters to life." She leans forward, her gaze filled with excitement. "Just imagining bringing them to life makes me so excited!"

Sam is glad to see Yuna is fully onboard with the project. They then started discussing and making plans on how to build the simulation.

Yuna leaned forward, excited to share her expertise. "Let's break down the Rathalos - its behaviors, strengths, and weaknesses, to make the simulation authentic."

Sam nodded, sketching more details. "I thought of incorporating aerial attacks and fire breath, but also finding ways to make it vulnerable, so Hunters have a chance."

The two continue to discuss and plan the simulation, and it is slowly making progress. Sam's eyes shine with excitement as he sketches additional details, while Yuna provides invaluable insights based on her expertise. Their collaborative efforts breathe life into the formidable Rathalos.
