Bizarre Honkai, a Wife-Chasing Crematorium

Chapter 58: Savior

After a long time, the frightened young woman finally calmed down.

She slowly raised her head, fearfully looking at the mirror. The reflection of herself maintained the same movements. Everything seemed to be back to normal.

However, as the young woman stared at her reflection with an expressionless face, the more she looked, the more unfamiliar, the more terrifying it seemed… as if the reflection of herself wasn't really her.

She looked at her reflection, and it also looked back at her.

"Phew... That scared me. Was I hallucinating because I was too tired from work…? That must be it…"

The young woman murmured, reassuring herself. She walked to the sink, squeezed out some toothpaste, and began to brush her teeth.

In this small bathroom, no one else could hear what she was saying.

Yes, there was no one else. But the young woman in the mirror, as if she had heard the real her talking to herself, moved her neck, twisting it a full circle at an impossible angle, facing the young woman again.

Except that this time, the reflection's neck had been twisted into a rope.

"Hmm… I feel like someone is staring at me. Is it just my imagination…? Wait, could it be…"

The young woman suddenly remembered the strange scene just now where her reflection and the real her weren't making the same movements. A chill ran down her spine. Carefully, she turned her head slightly, and glanced at the mirror out of the corner of her eye.

When she saw that her reflection in the mirror wasn't making the same movements as her, but was instead standing there motionlessly, staring intently at her, her taut nerves finally snapped. She let out a bloodcurdling scream.

"Aaaaaah!!!!"

The cup fell to the ground, shattering.

The young woman covered her chest with her hands, screaming loudly.

But the reflection in the mirror didn't move. There weren't any toothpaste bubbles on its lips. It just stared fixedly at her with gloomy eyes…

Its head rotated a full circle, just like a rope.

A normal person would have already died, but the reflection in the mirror seemed like it wasn't affected at all.

It was no longer bothering to hide.

When the young woman brushed her teeth, the young woman in the mirror wasn't brushing her teeth along with her. It was staring at her as she brushed her teeth.

And after it heard what the young woman said and realized that it had been exposed, it no longer bothered to conceal itself.

"Uwaah!..."

The young woman grabbed her own neck with both hands, forcefully twisting it to the right because her neck was turning to the left uncontrollably,

as if it wanted to turn her into the same ghostly appearance as her reflection.

"Uh…ah…!"

"I'm…I'm sorry…I'm sorry…"

The young woman begged, hoping that her reflection would let her go.

Her neck and head had already rotated ninety degrees, reaching the limit of the human body. If it turned any further, the young woman would become a corpse with a tragic death.

The bizarre entity didn't stop. It wouldn't stop. Because the young woman had already triggered its rule: It had been noticed that its actions weren't consistent with the real person's actions.

"Help…help…help me…someone…"

Her spine creaked. The pain of having her neck twisted shot to her brain. The incredibly intense pain caused her brain to directly shut down the perception of pain, to prevent her body from dying because of excessive pain.

The young woman was about to die. The rotation of her neck had already exceeded ninety degrees.

Just then, a circular portal appeared behind her, surrounded by brilliant golden light, dazzling and bright.

The golden light was captured by the young woman's eyes. She opened her mouth, wanting to call for help, but couldn't make a sound.

Li Mo, his hair now completely white, stepped out of the portal. He looked at the bizarre entity in the mirror and sighed, "To be alone at home, looking at such a large mirror late at night... you're quite brave. But it's not your fault."

If there weren't any bizarre entities, people could look in a mirror however long they wanted, even all night.

After the bizarre had spread, nighttime had become very dangerous.

Especially mirrors at midnight… Li Mo, Mei, and Hua wouldn't dare to look into one, unless Elysia was there.

"Do you think that I can't do anything to you because you're hiding in the mirror?"

The mirror wasn't the main body, but the "person" in the mirror was. However, the mirror separated reality from the mirror world, so he couldn't directly contact the bizarre entity inside.

Most of a Herrscher's powers were extreme manifestations of physical laws. They weren't as effective against these kinds of bizarre phenomena.

Li Mo first stabbed the young woman behind him, making her body "inferior" to its reflection.

Then he took out a head from the portal, releasing its spacetime lock.

"Go, head ghost. For me, use your… Flame Gnaw!"

The head ghost didn't immediately act. Its gaze swept over Li Mo. There was clear hesitation.

This was a perfect body. It could even sense primordial stirrings from it. Its contamination was from the terrifying bizarre entity that was inside Li Mo.

But many years separated Li Mo and the head ghost. Therefore, Li Mo wasn't one of the head ghost's attack targets.

Then, in this sealed bathroom, the only being with a complete body was the ghost in the mirror.

The head ghost's attack method was very simple: eat, eat, eat. This was surprisingly similar to Bizarre Kiana.

But this act of eating didn't seem to be limited to just physical matter. It could even devour ethereal things…

Because the ghost in the mirror had started to bleed, and the blood even overflowed out of the mirror, flowing onto the ground outside.

It opened its mouth and let out a tragic wail. Half of its head had been eaten, revealing the brain matter and the disgusting, mangled tissues inside.

Li Mo couldn't hear the wailing. After all, the mirror world and the real world were separate. They could see each other, but sounds couldn't be transmitted.

"I see, although the head ghost's attack is easy to block, its effect is quite terrifying. While it's devouring flesh and blood, it can also devour the corresponding memories, even consciousness and habits… Even if they hide in a medium, they can't escape. For the head ghost to devour the medium is the same as devouring the bizarre entity in the medium. And after eating its head, it can gain all of its memories, and even… its abilities?"

"I didn't expect that I would underestimate this ghost. It looked like it was eating the mirror, but it wasn't just eating the mirror, it was also eating the bizarre entity in the mirror, even though it existed in a form that was detached from reality. Doesn't this mean that controllable head ghosts can be used as a means of attacking bizarre entities?"

"Interesting. Then will the ghost that was eaten by the head ghost really die?"

Li Mo was incredibly curious. Because one of the ironclad rules of bizarre entities, like an insurmountable mountain, always stood in his way, always stood in the way of all humanity.

Bizarre entities cannot be killed.

As long as this was true, bizarre entities were invincible. Even Bizarre Kiana's ability to lock down spacetime was just another way to prevent bizarre entities from spreading,

and not a way to completely kill them. It was just locking them in a "state of death," to prevent them from resetting.

So Li Mo really hoped that the head ghost could kill this ghost in the mirror. After all, this ghost in the mirror didn't seem to have any offensive capabilities, but it was also possible that Li Mo simply hadn't triggered its killing rule.

Therefore, it hadn't attacked Li Mo even while it was being devoured, and it had even stopped its attack on the young woman.

Soon, another change occurred. The head ghost was gradually swallowed into the mirror, becoming the reflection in the mirror. And its body had become the body of the ghost that had just died.

Li Mo observed carefully and realized that the head and the body didn't seem very coordinated. Not in their appearance, but in their behavior.

The body extended both of its hands. The sharp nails were incredibly pointed. All ten fingers, along with their nails, stabbed directly into its forehead. Blood flowed out from the ten small holes, sliding down its face to its jaw,

trying to rip its head off its neck.

And the head opened its mouth wide and quickly started devouring the arms of its body.

But both of them were bizarre entities. The arm that was being eaten immediately recovered, and just as the head was about to be ripped off, just as the spine was about to break, it recovered as well.

Neither of them could defeat the other, forming a delicate balance.

"Interesting, interesting, when ghosts fight ghosts, only their fur is left." (This is a play on a Chinese proverb, "dog bites dog, one mouth of fur," which means something like "when thieves fall out, honest men come by their own.")

"It's just a shame that bizarre entities still can't be killed…"

Li Mo sighed with some regret. He continued to observe. The young woman behind him stood up tremblingly, staring at Li Mo fearfully.

"B-Big brother… a-are you a human or a ghost…" the young woman asked tentatively.

Li Mo didn't hesitate and immediately replied, "Me? You're asking about me? I'm a bizarre entity now, a real, bona fide bizarre entity."

"Ah!" The young woman's face turned pale with fright. She fell to the ground, only realizing she was being tricked after seeing Li Mo's playful smile.

But Li Mo wasn't lying. He really was a bizarre entity right now, at least in this spacetime.

"Okay, the stab I gave you earlier won't be fatal. Go hide in your room for now. You must be very frightened. After tonight, there won't be any more bizarre entities here."

Li Mo said, smiling confidently, his figure gradually turning translucent. He also didn't forget to leave a mark on the wall.

He had left a coordinate on the head ghost. And now, he was going to transcend spacetime and dimensions and go directly to the location of the coordinate—the mirror world.

The head ghost and the ghost in the mirror were at a standstill, but Li Mo wasn't foolish enough to think that this balance could continue.

After all, bizarre entities were just a kind of contamination. Their combat power was completely dependent on the integrity of their rules and the power of the host's body that was being contaminated.

Just like Bizarre Kiana, the Herrscher of the End had been contaminated. So, in terms of combat power alone, she was definitely the top dog in the galaxy.

The head ghost had contaminated the head of an ordinary staff member. The ghost in the mirror had contaminated an ordinary young woman.

The two were both equally weak in terms of physical qualities. That was why they were currently at a standstill.

Perhaps if the body had been that of a strong man, it might have easily been able to rip the head off.

"Even if they were two ordinary people, there would still be differences in their physical parameters. It's just that the differences are too small, so the balance can't be broken in a short period of time."

"It's fine. You're going to die here anyway."

Li Mo snapped his fingers. Countless portals to the imaginary space suddenly appeared above the head ghost, connecting reality to the imaginary space. The platinum spearheads were aimed at the body of the ghost in the mirror, awaiting Li Mo's next command.

Li Mo suddenly felt that this scene was somewhat familiar. Wasn't he the Herrscher of the Void from Queen's Descent, bankrupting Anti-Entropy (the bizarre entities) with a single snap of his fingers?

Even the line was exactly the same.

"Die," Li Mo said.

Instantly, spears of the imaginary space emerged from the portals, flying toward the ghost in the mirror and the head ghost.

Hundreds, thousands…

Its body was no longer intact. Flesh and blood flew everywhere, torn to pieces.

The head ghost wasn't faring much better. Its brain matter was blasted out again and again, and the fragments of its skull were scattered all over the place.

Li Mo's attacks were very precise, controlling the force well. Every stab seriously injured the head ghost and the ghost in the mirror, but wasn't fatal. Therefore, they instinctively healed, and didn't reset.

Then Li Mo reached out and locked all the scraps, the chunks of flesh, bone fragments, and other remains, into a fixed time and space.

Their attempts at healing failed, and the two ghosts tried to reset…

Their attempts at resetting also failed, and the two ghosts were trapped in a state of death…

This wasn't true death, just a temporary seal.

At least until a new contamination arrived, they couldn't escape this state.

"I'll take the head ghost back, and leave the ghost in the mirror here. It can't move anyway. It's basically dead."

Li Mo collected the fragments of the head ghost and returned to the bathroom in reality.

The head ghost was a known bizarre entity, and he knew most of its rules. It could be controlled to a certain degree.

The rules of the ghost in the mirror were unknown, and Li Mo didn't have the time to try and figure them out.

"There are still 191 bizarre auras. I need to increase the pace."

With that, Li Mo entered the portal and went to the next place where a bizarre aura had spread.

What he had to do was simple: use the Herrscher of the End's power to dismember the bizarre entities, and then lock down the spacetime of their state of death. This was the safest method.

Incomplete bizarre entities didn't have the same rules as complete bizarre entities. They were much less dangerous this way.

This was to avoid some special bizarre entities that could ignore spacetime and directly descend onto the person who violated their rules, like some kind of bizarre curse.

Rules that ignored spacetime almost always belonged only to some complete bizarre entities. If he wasn't sure, he would dismember them.

The sky was no longer dark. Li Mo traveled to various cities, various countries, various continents…

He dealt with the bizarre entities very quickly. Except for a few that he couldn't directly touch, all the other bizarre entities were physically dismembered and then had their state of death locked.

Living things were dealt with this way, and inanimate objects were even easier.

For example, the rule that stated that a living person would die if someone opened the door for them. Li Mo directly adjusted the time at that location by one second.

Even just one second was enough to prevent the rule from affecting the person. The bizarre entity could only kill the person from the previous second, and the person from the previous second never existed.

Besides rules, there were also bizarre phenomena, which mostly originated from the environment.

He would destroy all the buildings and then lock down their state of death as ruins.

But Li Mo also paid some prices. Because he had directly destroyed buildings, he violated an unknown rule, and was forcefully killed by a bizarre entity.

But Li Mo, in his current state in this spacetime, was a bizarre entity and couldn't be killed. He would immediately reset the moment he died.

So he was an unsolvable existence. His only enemy was time.

Li Mo turned his head to look at the eastern horizon, where a faint light had already appeared.

It was the first time that he didn't want the sun to rise so quickly, because that would be his true death.
